I can vividly remember sitting in the rear facing jump seats at the Chicago Auto Show sometime in the late 70's - early 80's and thinking they were the coolest thing ever. They had handholds that made it seem like sitting in a fighter plane. (Or, to my Star Wars obsessed mind, an X-Wing.)

I think there's a spot for trucks in GT5. Ram SRT10, F150 Lightning, Syclone/Typhoon, Jeep SRT8, and maybe the BMW X5m/X6m. Oh and the Tacoma X-Runner should stay, since it was voted as a better sport truck than the SRT10. The Jeep in particular was really fun in Forza 3.

I'd want any of the Aussie trucks, the SRT10 is coolish, but I'd much rather have a turbodiesel option. and for the matter of sport utes, hands down I want the G65 AMG. Twin Turbo V12 DETUNED to 760 ft/lbs because the trans wasn't able to handle the 870 it wanted to produce. That's just sick.
Holden's HSV Maloo? V8 425hp beast, can't believe GT5 didn't include one of the fastest utes available. Beats the Dodge Ram SRT10 in terms of raw speed too.

There would be no fun in driving around a Ram 2500 Cummins truck in a game. Much, much heavier than the SRT10, with an engine and trans not intended for outright speed, but the ability to pull trees out of the ground.

you are right, no place in this type of game. At the local Drag Strip there are a few that just really rip down the quarter. And since there is a number of members who enjoy nothing more than going straight and thinks SS7 has too many turns, a Cummins would certainly add a healthy dose of shear torque into that little scene. I know the one local guy, his dyno sheet without that stupid barometric pressure adjustment was a true 670ish HP and a solid 1200 ft'lbs at only like 3300. and it got him down that quarter mile stupid quick, on some tall tires. I'm just saying it might be fun
Most utes from the 'B' pillars forward are identical to the equivalent sedan, making big cube motors with big power, and sedan like braking and handeling an option. Lots of fun when you have 400+hp and no weight over the reear axle
...why hasn't anyone tried to sell them here in the states since then? GM already has the Holden Ute which is just sitting there waiting to be sold as a new El Camino!

Sure, they're ridiculous in drags, but an SRT10 will be pretty fun all around the course. If PD weren't like they are, we could turbo the SRT10 and have diesel-like torque too. My SRT10 in Forza 3 has a 540 Hemi bored and stroked to 9.4L, then supercharged. Its around 1070hp I think and will do 220mph down the Mulsanne.
I dig the Aussie ute's (wish GM sold them in the US) would love to have trophy trucks but only if they came with tracks that made them worthwhile.
The chevy S-10 4.3 liter v-6 is an awesome unsuspecting little monster. (I owned one and spent a lot on rear tires) I would love one with some GT tuning.
Nope, the car is a pick-up version of a Cadillac, it's not an "El Camino" though (there was a Cadillac El Camino concept actually, but that wasn't a pick-up).
