Allow sequential shifting to Reverse.

Remove traction control from engaging when on grass or gravel.

Feel free to suggest your own.

I don't think the traction control engages when you go off. The similar effect can possible be caused by the fact that the wheels are "stuck," and is struggling harder to get out.

I might be wrong, of course.

Turn grip reduction to real (in the driving options) if you have not, it is a good idea
If it doesnt 100% solve it, at least it mitigates it

As per number one? YES YES YES

I've always wondered why GT insists on seperating reverse and brake. If they just made it so you hold brake in order to reverse (the accelerator basically become the brakes when reversing), you'd free up a button on your controller which could be an actual headlight on/off switch or something else. Having it being selectable by shifting down in neutral is fine too.

Unfortunately you can't do that in actual races and seasonals, where it would be most useful. :(

I am actually quite happy they don't do that. I hate it when you slow to a stop in a game and then your car starts to take off backwards. :yuck:

Anything would be better then having to hold a frickin button on a wheel you have to turn...while holding the damn button.
Just another example of the folks at PD putting either zero thought or effort into portions of their games.

BTW - No, grip on real doesn't keep traction control from being on when you're in grass or sand, it's just on less.

Another simple improvement would be weather that was actually adjustable, not the BS settings we currently have, where you have to reset the room 100 times to get it right.
Don't they have light rain in Japan?
How about a misty day where the track is wet, but it's not really raining?

The way it is now, you choose between some "settings" but you pretty much choose between pouring rain, or no rain at all, pretty miserable if you ask me.

Water % to 100% and 0% rain :dunce:

I dont like that idea... I like the application of a seperate button vs using the brake for the reverse. But i would rather shift down to reverse

I always hated how the tcs is compulsory on the grass. Why does pd insist on keeling childish elements in tbe game when all thet have to do is chane a 1 to a 0

:dunce: back at ya.
100% surface water from light rain? You must be kidding.
100% surface water for mist? you must be kidding.

Not to mention the blatantly obvious, if it's at 0% rain, it's not raining at all is it? Last I checked, sunny weather dried tracks up, and more importantly, sunny weather isn't light rain or mist, now is it?

Back to the think tank for this horribly stupid post.

Doesn't have to be 100%, there's things in between....

Having reverse and brake combined is a HUGE no no for me. I want my brake to stop me, not then send me backwards like GTA.

I am not that bothered with the reverse issue yeah triangle can be annoying but with H Pattern you can select reverse seperately and use the throttle anyway.

Atleast they have removed TCS from reverse gear now.

One thing that may be able to help with this is changing the configuration settings for the wheel, assuming you have a DFGT and you use the paddle shifter's, you could configure the sequential shifter's "+" to Reverse and the "-" to the Emergency Brakes (or vice versa).

This way, you could hold the shifter forwards with one hand and turn the wheel using the other hand.

I don't know, just an idea. :dopey:

There are plenty of things that are extremely simple but yet are missing from the game. Things of practicality and ease of use that shouldn't take more than a couple man hours of programming to fix.

Why doesn't the system remember the last way I sorted my garage? Why do I have to watch a stupid movie everytime I restart a race? Why don't they group the tracks with their reverse variations like in GT4? Why most premium cars don't have a single rear bodykit option and look like half-arsed tunning jobs? Why can't I buy all wheels for all cars? Why can't I keep a list of my favourite paint chips and not lose them? Why not having an option to improve the car's brakes?

The list goes on and on. Little details, reasonable fixes. It's not like we're asking for a million premium cars more or a complete overhaul of the physics model...

EDIT: There was a thread like this sometime ago, maybe we can take ideas from there as well and unify a single "MINOR FIXES RECCOMENDED TO PD" Thread, as long as things are kept reasonable and constructive 👍.

I woud assume that the above is true because Traction Control would naturally cut out to low levels of throttle when on a low-grip surface like gravel/grass, just like it would with heavy rain. The only difference is when you have Traction Control switched off, and it still engages.

I feel the current application is necessary to prevent corner cutting to extremes; (esses section in Suzuka is an example:dunce:) If you were not restricted by TC, then you could (theoretically) plough through all of the corners without much hinderance:crazy:

Ah, but not entirely true though. When I ran the Ring 24Hr, I found out the R35TC will not lose speed on grass, in fact, it kept gaining. Obviously the gravel pits were a different story, but on grass with SS's it was fairly manageable. If I recall correctly, my top speed on tarmac was 314kph through Tiergarten, which was matched on the looser greens.

Not quite, the point of removing this auto-TC is for realism during low speed crashes, making it harder to return to track without spinning, making the grass scarier. It's something I have no idea why they added.
