wow, people. IT WAS A JOKE!! i really hope someone got that...

Don't worry, we did.

Sorry guys, but that XJ220S TWR looks like a rich ricer got their hands on one to me.:indiff: IMO, Jaguars have to be beautiful, with a hint of sportiness and a luxury attitude.:)

The difference between ricers, rich ricers/tuners and serious track cars lies in the functionality of the bodywork, and the go-fast mods. I bet there is nothing on that car that is there just for looks, in true form follows function fashion. Which is beauty in it's own way.

I do agree that Jaguar kind of implies elegance though. Which the XJ220S TWR lacks somewhat.

I think that there are plenty of special editions of the Zonda, perhaps enough to warrant a thread. I think the hardest part would be deciding just what characterizes the brand. They don't exactly have enough history to do that.
Except that's just it. Every model from Pagani is still just a Zonda. The thread would be more like, "What is the Ultimate Zonda" which would then just become the Zonda R or F.

True, it still looks ugly though. I never knew that Walkinshaw had his way with an XJ220 either, we mostly hear about his Australian exploits I guess.:)

Walkinshaw had a huge hand in developing the XJ220.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And that makes it pretty difficult to have a really good debate about how good any car is, or how well it will sell from a purely aesthetics standpoint. Because I quite like the look of that machine.

but you have to agree... the xfr really has that balance of form and function, luxurious, stylish yet blazingly fast all at once.

V8 sedans are pretty good at that.:sly: I agree the XFR is an awesome car, a good ambassador for Jaguar. I chose the XKR-S over it because it's that little bit more stylish and a lot more sexy, Jaguar are good at sexy.:)

For me?

The XJ220, XJR15, new XF-R, and the old XKR. 👍

Interesting, the old XKR. Mind if I ask why the old and not the new? Not that I'm questioning it.;)

I simply find this car looks the part. The new XK is more of a GT car to my eye, heavy, and luxurious. Even though the old car was this too, it didn't look like it. It looked much more aggressive and 'raw' if you know what I mean. It looked so much more focussed, and more 'angry' aswell. Not saying the new XKR is ugly, infact it is better looking than almost anything else in the market.

I sorta see what you're saying there TL, the older XKR is certainly less rounded and that makes it look a little lighter and more aggressive. But of course I'd still take the new one in every category.:)

I mostly prefer the look of the older one too. My only problem with it was the out of proportion rear boot/trunk area which was almost like an after thought. It was as if they'd signed off the design and then someone from the board took a look at it and suddenly asked 'can i fit two golf bags in the boot?'

Hai guyz! I iz ze baddest, meanest Jaguar of them all.. when I grow up.

always been a fan of the lightweight e type...i wasnt quite as fond of the fastback shape of the low drag tho but still cool ones :D

Watching a replica low-drag spin and then manage to catch back up with a Cobra 427 and Ford Mirage around Castle Combe changed my views of the racing E-Types. Seriously quick with a familiar driver.

Agreed. 👍

The low-drag E-types are one of those cars used in historic racing that are quicker now than they ever were in period (relatively speaking so). Adrian Newey's has even spent time in the wind tunnel! Allegedly.

Yeah, but if the E-Type is faster due to better tyres and more speed-efficient set-ups, etc, just think of how much the Cobras and GT40s benefit :sly:

I envy you! Getting to race a 'tina across Europe, especially Spa. I dream of sweeping through La Source and thundering up over Eau Rouge with the sun setting after a long day of fun but challenging racing. Ahhh, I can dream...
