Everyone has one. It may be that Miata sitting at the bottom of your garage, the dust covered Cobra R, or the Trueno. Mine's the Cobra R, which slides dramtically. It seems that no matter how hard you overcook it into a corner, it does alright, and pulls through without hittin' the sand. And off you go, with a grin on your face. D'you know what I mean?

Well, to be honest, I wouldn't think of any of those cars you mentioned as fitting in that category, but yes, I do know what you mean. The GT40 is always very reliable at turning, as well as the Lotus Elise.

Ah, yes, the GT40. That is more of a grip racer to me, maybe even a little too under-steery. But deathly fast in the right hands.

It's hardly a drifting machine, but the lupo cup car can get away with the most ridiculous entry speeds. You never need apply the brakes for more than half a second :)

@ Spada
Really? Ithought that thing sucked, and by a few opinions, it does. Oh well. What works for you.

Really, I can't because of those wide-azz tires on the back. Well, that and i always use T8's. That may have something to do with it.

True, Very True.;)

I would have to say I hear you on this one Jetboy.

Not necessarily the same cars, but for sure, it seems that everyone has a few cars that just handle those "tossing turns" quite well.

First on that list would have to be my Lotus Elise Motor Sport.
It's not a drifter, but damn can it enter turns on a drift and leave them with power.

Almost like a larger race car, the M.S.E. has great grip, but turning that's so touchy you can barely get away with a clean lap regardless of where you are.

Another great car for these sorts of runs is the RGT.

The rgt has awesome down force for a road car, and has amazing balance.

You can go throw the rgt into situations that other cars just can't handle.

The power train helps that greatly since you can correct a great deal of your trouble with either a well timed down/ up shift.

Another great aspect of the rgt is its balance. With a rear engine design, it's easy to toss the rear end around, but also very easy to control.

Anyway, I'm out, but I will be back since I love to discuss stuff like this. :D

Later. :D

Words of wisdom. I remember my PD Cup runs in this car,( I know, cheater) I especially remember my trip around Midfield II. After the S curve to the hairpin, she just hukered down right in the middle of the turn, full throttle. No tire squealing! I could not even do that in a GT-ONE!

Funny, you say the RGT is well balanced, and it probably is, and yet I made a few 'adjustments' to the setup of one and managed to spin 6 times in 20 laps of super speedway :)

I was talking about the lupo cup car when i said "hardly a drifting machine". I can't imagine why people would say it "sucks"

For me, the "tossable" or "mainstay" car has usually turned out to be the one that I started with. I think it boils down to familiarity at having ended up driving it so much.

That list keeps growing by the way.

Well, my Z06, (my third car) and my RX-8 (my fourth) were very great handling vehicles, particularily the RX-8.

Well, in GT1 it was the Mitsu GTO '95 Twin Turbo, I took every corner of the High Speed Ring sideways with that countless times, 1000 HP and hardly any wheel spin at the start, priceless! But in GT3 I'm finding that I can take Monaco start to finish without letting up on the gas in a F094/h, and I'm talking full throtle all the way around the track without touching a wall, and my 47.880 lap around Monaco in that very car was awesome:D  :p

Yea cause there's NO WAY you can get around that particularly tight 180-degree turn full throttle without touching the wall.

Mind explaining that?

Not that I don't believe you, just wanted to get an understanding of exactly what in the hell you are talking about.

Do you have a xport to make hybrids?

Im guessing you made a mistake or something when you wrote the time down...
No problem :D

Gotta watch out for that though, some people get bent out of shape quick when they see times like that being thrown around. ;)

I got that lap by smashing head on into the tire wall after the tunnel at around 188MPH, hit it right and you get a sub-50 second lap:eek: And no, I have absolutly no means of hybriding, I have a GS, but the state my PS2 is in will not allow me to use it.

[EDIT] And going full throtle around the whole track is easy, you just floor it and hit the brakes at the same time, get's much smother corners, IMO.

Any F1 car is tossible, if you mean by tossible as in most maneuverable.

However, if you want 'Tossable' as in, you can throw around the rear end and swing the whole car sideways in this nearly out-of-control mix of oversteer and body roll, a Viper or F-Body or C4 can do the trick. I'd say C5 convertible, or better yet C4 convertible but unfortunately GT3 doesn't pack the least torsionally rigid versions of these cars.

I miss my RT/10 that was loads of fun and made beating GT1's 'stock' race easy.

I hate, lemme stress this HATE the C4. The wedge look is not cool. 👎

Don't get me wrong though, the Corvette still kicks major ass for low cash. :D

Sorry to hear that. The '83 Corvette (there were 46 produced, but never sold legally, some slipped through though) is one of the most beuatiful cars in my opinion. But ditch that Cross-Fire 351 and clunky 4-speed:D

3rdgen, that was an awesome run, nearly perfect. There are places where you could have gone a bit faster, but I'm not complaining, best I've done is a 1'17.x, and it wasn't even clean, you are master of that track:bowdown:.
