Ok! But if I see you doing 196mph on the 130R curve, I'll have that hearse in the scrutineering bay before you can say "it's got seven seats, you know!"

These Scotsmen are crazy!

Welcome Shadow wulf, nice wheels!

Listen up guys: base spec has just been raised: everyone can now have a nice shiny racing flywheel as part of the base spec. Those slow gearchanges were a pain....

hey scaff . . you have competition!! . . I added my 2nd car . . and what a surprise . . it goes better than I thought . . especially with NA stage-1 . .

ok well ive decided to change the RS6 into modern and so that means no more oddy :( unless uber saloons go back to millionaire class

best laptime now with proper upgrades is 1:30.373 still having some problems with it though aim is to get it to around 1:28

the mod for this event was a sports clutch :)

edit: best so far is 1:29.833

edit : new best 1:29.014

ok . . I have my 3 cars . . :D . . and my times for today . .

it's gonna get ugly at the Nürburgring . . all those Gearboxes are soo short . . :scared:

My Weapon!

Modern Division
2004 Holden Monaro CV8

Got bodyroll anyone?

Bog-stock, no oil change, S1 tyres (came stock with S2)

My time
1'38.738
<edit> 1'36.841

Getting better, still no oil change

<edit> I say the Odyssey is in, as it is suprisingly nimble for a boat that size! </edit>

<edit2>

Siiiiiick (non photoshopped)
</edit2>

I'm in.

I'll put up the full specs for these tomorrow and maybe get some times in.

Classics - 1000 to 1999cc - 1964 Ginetta G4

Budget - RWD - 201-340bhp - 1987 Buick GNX

Modern - Sports Coupe - 320+bhp - 2004 Pontiac GTO

Edit: Well, looks like I've got some competition here with the Monaro. Its on! And no, I didn't see your car and then choose mine.

your on ebiggs, this should be interesting. How about a little side bet? for bragging rights only of course!

new time!
1'35.412

Identical carsetup to before (still no oil change)

Hmmm, I might change the oil, and see how I go...

well, in the heat of the moment, I completely forgot about the starting specs! I'm about to go off to work, so when I get home tonight, I will have another go I think.

edit - I'm also going to use a caterham, as it will provide some competition for Ed

edit - I'm also going to use a caterham, as it will provide some competition for Ed

hmm . . I'm not sure if that's possible
There will be four divisions:
1) Classics Division (up to 1979)
2) Budget Division (1980-1989)
3) Modern Division (1990 on)
4) Millionaire’s Division (C 100,000+)

You may enter up to 3 cars but
each must be from a different division. This is to promote diversity

the Caterham and the Monaro are in the same division . . sorry

You went the NA route, whats that like at lower revs? As you can see I went with the turbo which does help on the straights but can 'bog' the car down in the tighter corners (that and I just a slow driver).

But it is a fundrive and now I we all get a free flywheel as well.

Scaff

I had the impression, with a lot of old cars, that they are easier to drive and also faster NA then with a Turbo . . . even if they have less power. . the powerband is smoother . . I guess . . :sly:

and the 70s lancer is really a surprise for me. . great handling car . . 👍

That ones been a favorite of mine for quite a while, its a very well balanced car, I'm going to keep mine turbo so we can see how the two different tuning methods develop.

Handy hint - don't waste your next mod on sports brakes - they will not help at all. Uprated brakes are not worth a damn unless you have racing rubber fitted. A Brake Balance Controller is more likely to help (if you set it up well).

Brakes don't stop your car, tyres do (brakes just control how fast the tyres rotate), have a read through the following thread for more info on this.

MugenVTEC
[*]Brakes: Racing

[*]Clutch: Sports - Suzuka West Mod

FastEddie12
Modifications:

Modifications will be strictly controlled according to the following rules:
The only tyre allowed will be the control tyre: S1.
All cars will start with a base setup as follows: sports suspension, sports exhaust, chassis refresh (optional), oil change and roll cage (opt).
At each track, competitors will be allowed one further modification of their choice, which must only be one level higher than the previous spec.
The following mods are not allowed: stage 4 turbo, no gearbox mods, no nitrous system S1 tyres only.
Budget Division cars will start with a stage 1 NA tune, unless they are turbocharged as stock, when they will start with a stage 1 turbocharger.
Budget Division cars will also start with a racing flywheel.

Uhhh, sorry MugenVTEC, but that car is illegal, you are allowed 1 (one) mod per track. Please either remove one of your mods and provide some sort of proof, or use a different car. You may use this car, WITHOUT ANY FURTHER MODIFICATION at the next track, if you wish to keep it as it is, but you cannot use it at the Suzuka West Course in it's current configuration.

Easy mistake to make, but I and A112Abarth have been instructed to be firm but fair. Besides that, that integra can go much quicker than that with legal mods anyway.

All Stewards decisions are final, although you have the right to protest if you believe that the aforementioned decision is in some way unfair. Although me may or may not listen to you, it all depends on the level of whining.

👍 Thanks for that, just glad to help out. Modification choice is going to be critical in this from what I can see and I would hate to see anyone waste one.

Scaff

well i managed to post a semi-respectable time without even the base mods, but i guess car choice makes a difference too

What a fabulous concept, well done Fasteddie:tup:

Going to jump on and have a go when I get home.
