So i guess Sony/PD pushed back the announce date :)
SONY definitely did push back the announce date. It's pretty clear if you recall that Kazunori said in several interviews that GT Mobile would be out after GT5 was released and they could focus on it. But someone in SONY crunched numbers, and concluded that the PSP Go would rake in a lot of much needed cash, especially if it had a killer app near its release. As irritated as I am at this reversal, GT Mobile coming first, I can understand. PSP has sold 50 million units, and despite piracy, is evidently bringing in much needed cash to SONY, while PS3 may still being sold at somewhat of a loss. A richer SONY means a couple of things:
  • The freedom to fund more projects, such as the Play, Create, Share games like ModNation Racers, which means more sales. And I love how creative SONY's developers are.
  • A price cut for PS3 can come sooner, meaning many more sales of everything, including peripherals from Logitech and Fanatec.
And like everyone else, I'm starving for info on GT5! But with the limited announcement out of the way, I'm expecting dribs and drabs of news and interviews leading up to the Tokyo Game Show. And GT5 by Christmas.

Pester SONY for us, Amar! We're dead without you!

Amar, Thanks for replying to this thread. After E3 I was disappointed that there was no firm release date especially since your post could be interpreted a couple of different ways. The only part that I was concerned could be wrong was the track editor. I thought that might actually refer to modnation racers. Although a track editor is far down on my list of wanted features.

I have a question for amar, has your life been endangered since the you released your riddle by any hardcore GT fans? (I'm not threatening you) I mean your location does say small GT country.. ? I would like to hear more riddles since the game is nearing a release.. maybe? The ones hear could be said outdated as many people have accepted some of decryption by others.

Just to put some more light on this very matter, nothing has changed to be precise.

Everything stated in the first Feast thread, as well as this thread stays on the track.
Even if some things turn out different than in your first post, it still doesn't mean you were wrong. PD can advance/delay the date of release, add or remove features, etc. etc. But so far, none of the items in your first post can be disproven. As a matter of fact you nailed some very important ones right on the head already. :)

I think people read this wrong:

First wind whispers that final reunion will happen thirty nights before twelve months pass and that all winds from the whole world will reunite in the same moment for the first time.

First wind whispers (is the announcement from E3)

Final Reunion will happen between PSP GT and PS3 GT a month before 12 months has passed. E3 was on June 4th and announcement was made on June 5th so the release is most likely around May 2010. Actually probably around May 3rd (because it we have one less day in Feb.) as it falls 30 days prior to E3 announcement.

and that all winds from the whole world will reunite in the same moment for the first time - The release will happen simultaneously across all territories.

And behold my surprise when I read this and went to GameStop by accident really to see if they got the SKU for GT5.

Hmm... maybe...

Honestly guys I think by know we all should know that the only way to truly know when this game is coming is when PD and SCE say so. Even that is not 100% guaranteed.

It's hard to say. I don't really trust any release dates right now, but based on these previews coming out next month in the OPM magazines in Europe, depending on what these previews entail will depend on when I think this game will come out. If they have a full preview of GT5, it would be insane to release it in May of 2010.

Now if the previews are just a reiteration of what we already know from E3, then a 2010 release may be imminent, but I sure as hell hope I'm wrong. I think a 2009 release is the smartest way to go. Here's why:

1. Competition with Forza 3 (yes different platforms, but cmon, Forza and GT probably the best 2 simulators for consoles on their respective consoles)

2. GT PSP: GT5 and GT PSP will probably be compatible in one way or another, whether GT5 comes out 6 months after GT PSP or not...but a simultaneous release of these 2 side-by-side, or with GT5 coming out a little bit after GT PSP would be killer.

3. Kaz has reiterated twice that the game is pretty much at a point where it can be released. Yes, I'm glad they're going to continue to polish it, and I hope it's perfect when it's released....but based on that statement, I personally don't think a game needs polishing for another 11 months.

I'm patient.....but eager.

Gamestops "hold date" does not hold any sort of water. Did you not read GT5 Release Date thread? You're trying to form a decipher based on a Gamestop "hold date"? The only "announcement" we had from E3 was GT-PSP has a hard release date of October. We were given another bone to chew on with the GT5 teaser video.

Sit back, enjoy the ride, maybe take a nap, and no "we're not there yet".

Amar, jel ti palis ove likove ovde ili sta?
Ma jok bre, covek ima veze :dopey:
Pratim njegove postove vec duze vreme i sve informacije o GT-u su stizale prvo od njega...
BTW can't wait for some more winds to be blown :dopey:

i got a question, amar said there will be more then 600 cars? gt for psp has 830+ cars.. and i reamember i read somwhere when you unlock cars in gt psp you automatly unlock on ps3? so does that mean that all cars from psp will be in gt5 830+ cars :)?

I think you are wrong. Kaz is saying the game is pretty much finished, I highly doubt they will wait until next year to release it. Just not going to happen.

And don't pay ANY attention to dates by GameStop or anyone. I used to work for GameStop, and I know those dates are just VAPOR until an actual announcement is made by Sony.

No. It takes A LOT longer to render a car for GT5 than it does for GT:PSP.

I doubt it, I think it's only confirmed that PD are looking into that kind of connectivity between the games but if they did have a feature like that then only cars included in both games would be affected.

I've decided to take a look at this thread again and I see that amar's winds are still blowing.

You'd be surprised. They'd probably have a strong testing programme for 4 months pre-release. "Polishing" Could be features that need tweaking, which can be time consuming. He may also think polishing involves getting the cars looking right.

Pozdrav!

***Sorry for the above people, will continue on English in the future****

Bet he is just telling that guy he'd better talk in english,
so the moderators won't say anything. And that the guy has to send him a private message if he wants to talk in his own language

Indeed he is. Though I can't translate the message in its entirety - Slavic languages have always given me a bit of trouble - the overall message is pretty evident.

I actually noticed the preceding message last night (which I half translated as the poster enquiring how someone from Croatia [Hrvatske] could have so much inside information on a Japanese company and what he does for a living) and was considering a response along similar lines (albeit in English) but was too tired after a 600 mile road trip yesterday. Happily he's saved me the effort :D
