We already seen different demos, like the LeMans or the Northschleife demo..
this could be another demo made for the Gamescom, with the first addition of a type of damage only to the playable car.
At this point I think that we can not take conclusions until we have the game, at least we have to wait for the tgs..

👍👍

That damage looks terrible and very unrealistic. Big deal, panels fall off, but I didn't see evidence of panel deformation.
Me neither... :(

Were are the scratches, the deformation and everything else we saw in the E3 trailer? Was it CGI after all!? 👎

I hope to god your right, because this game is why i bought a ps3, but somehow looking at the speed of those crashes, and thinking that Kaz said the game is complete makes me wonder this is the final build.

if the game is coming out this year then this will be close to final. Developers don't make big leaps a few months before release...they polish and fix bugs. It is possible this demo is from a build a few months old and the final release will have a bit more of certain things, but don't expect huge differences.

Still, from two short videos you can't judge what the game will be like or even what the damage model will be like. There's little real data out there at this point in time.

It seems like people want to be dissapointed. This is a demo. There's nothing saying it's even the final build, it might have been put together long ago for an event like this. Just calm down and wait.

What is everyone's opinion on the collision between the WRX and Focus? Don't think we would have seen the car react like that in previous versions, much more realistic now I think.

Look at it as a football/soccer fan, we lost this match, big disappointment, let's just hope we havn't lost the championship.:nervous:

That means were probably 1 year away from where we want it to be.... I say release it Xmas 2010 with all cars modelled and REAL DAMAGE, not bumpers unhooking them selves with nothing happening...

PD has seriously dissapointed me, Im a GT fanboy and I honestly believe Forza is much much better than GT5.

It's not that I want to be disappointed, it's just many of us have waited years to see damage in GT and when we finally get it, it turns out to be lame. I have to ask myself why did PD even bother to have damage like this.

And if we can suspect a 2009 release that demo has to be pretty close to the real thing.

People make me cry. With all this damage crap, people are forgetting about important things like actual driving - physics etc.

Looks like scratches and little deformation to me.

If it didn't have damage, It still would've been a huge upgrade from GT4. Im lucky because I don't care about damage. Its something most people will turn off, its going to be like sixaxis, tedious. The damage looks good to me anyway, and they said you will be able to flip your car, doesn't that make you even slightly happy?

Personally, this has been the best day in gaming for me... so far.

i am happy. Damage or no damage, skid marks dont even bother me as long as the physics are right and the game gets released very soon. Is there any other racing sim game anywhere near to what GT5 will be giving us on the market today.

Is it possible that there are like three different settings for damage. The first video had no damage at all, so obviously it was turned off, the second one is very cosmetic, so who knows maybe there is a third with full on structural damage.

Just remember we have seen two videos, wait to hear the words from Kaz's mouth then pass judgement.

I dont know has it been noticed but the first version says 'zeistlimit'(or something like that) at the bottom right, assuming it means time limit
would this not further solidify the argument of a demo?

I'd be perfectly content with GT not having damage, but since they did decide to include it they should at least not half ass it.

Yeah, everyone just do something else, in a few hours/days, the info will be building, and it will be official, instead of our assumptions.

Well in other aspects than the amount of cars, then yes

Yes, "Zeitlimit" means time limit and cleary shows that this is a demo, taken out of the game at an unknown point of its development.

In fact, sadly enough, Forza 3 is well ahead of us at the moment...

Well it's obviously not the full game because they wouldn't all be playing the same track. Weired thing is why did they have to pick Tokyo.
