Well that is good to hear that u both are getting along nicely...lol. I have decided to run this series in SIM Mode. Why u may ask? Well I believe that if we are going to be allowing a true variety of cars :) we may as well let u truly feel the difference in each car for each class. Settings of a Celica will differ from an Impreza, and rather than just changing the hp and weight in arcade mode I'll let u guys find the best settings on your own...and hey less work for me! ;). Now all that is needed is division restrictions....

This may or may not be decided yet, but is it one car per driver for the season (as per real life), or one car per track for all drivers (ala WRS)?

If it's the former, how are you going to balance the cars, or aren't you?

BTW, I've been playing WRC pretty damn heavily and I'm soooooooo in the mood for a good rally. Shame GT4 sold it so short of it's potential, really 👎

Just trying to figure out how to get it down to four classes. I think that three rally classes would be a bit excessive myself. (WRC/Group A, Group B, Historic)

Or should we drop a production class?

How about just those three classes: WRC/Group A, Group B, Historic. 3 classes ought to do it I would say. Remember there is gonna be a seperate winner for each class; A, B and Historic. So if someone wants to go all out and compete in all three classes they have a shot at winning 1st place three times each week, make sense? Love the idea, hate it?

@Kolyana, that WRC game is probably one of the best rally games I've played EVER. Almost a shame GT4 is mostly about tarmac....almost...heheh. And 'ala WRS' I guess, can u give more detail about that?

Jump, you should look at Rallysport Challenge - not sure if it's a PS title, because I got it for the XBox. In my opinion, it's better ... more variety of tracks (including hill climb, head-to-head races and 4-car races) and better physics.
 
So regardless of classes, you're going to let drivers compete in all of them? That's neat.
 
I really would have liked to see some production based classes, but, we could always do that another time for sake of streamlining things.

Yeah I have played it on my friends XBox and its a MS only title. But its good, just only played for like an hour or so. One of my good friends swears by it. If he had a ps2, he'd be here with us. And yeah if anyone wants to they can compete in all 4 classes or 3 or w/e. 👍

@fox, that is what I was hoping to do to help move things along....

Sure, I am totally on board. Three rally classes for now.

If in the future I have time, I can always give setting up a production based championship up.

But, lets just do WRC/Group A, Group B and Historic for now if thats what your up for?

I suck at the rally stuff....therefore I hate it **or** do I hate it...therefore I suck at it? Of course I'm only mediocre at the road racing part of the GT4.

Jump, I wish I could be more supportive of your series but I just don't enjoy the rally stuff....maybe that's why I should participate...so I might learn to like it...and then spend even more time playing GT4?
 
C'mon Goix! I absolutely SUCK at rallying, but it'll be good for me to get the practice. Get your bum in here, the water's lurvely ;)

Yeah u wont find anything but a little friendly comp around here Ron. Ur more than welcome to join :). The water is a bit cool at first but, u will adjust to it. I believe rally tracks are the hardest to find your driving line on mainly because the car has little stability with the track; ur sliding this way and that, and in ur mind your thinking PUSH PUSH PUSH, when really most of the time its quicker to go a little slower than u would like. But once u find a groove with the combo, u will find that there's nothing like POWER-SLIDING around a track all day.

I think Koly's reference to the water was relative to the fin on her back...not the temperature. Maybe I will give it a shot.

I am planning on a start date sometime next month. I've just gotta get my ducks in a row here first (u know finalize and make everything official) then I'll post the sign up thread with the start date. Welcome Werner, great results in the BC last month dude! Looing ofrward to the driving lessons...heheh. :)

Just read most of page one, you've got me hooked. Any chance of switching Ice Arena ( :crazy: ) for Chamonix? :eek:
 
I really like Chamonix ... I'd be up for adding that to the series, but that's just little ol' me.
 
How about adding the Chamonix? Since there seems to be demand and I was hoping for a 7th track.....we'll end with Chamonix boyz and girlz.

But...if you think about it, we'll be running twice as much in a weeks time every week so really its like its a 13 week season. So 7 should be just right, IMO...and FYI I DID update the AMC drag....heheh, so no more grumpy Koly'..... :)
