Theory about the car transfer to GT5...

I was thinking about the cars in GTPSP and GT5 and I thought of something. Do you think it is possible that the cars that are SHARABLE are the only ones that can be shared? For example, a Honda NSX race car is considered a "sharable" car, while a Bugatti Veyron is a "tradable" car. I have a feeling that the sharable cars are the ones we can get onto GT5.

Another thing I thought of is potentially the resale value of the cars from GTPSP in GT5 could take a hit. I.E. like in Forza, the prize cars take a resale value hit. Maybe the GTPSP cars will have a lower resale value, if any, if they are sold on GT5. I just do NOT think that PD would make GT5 that easy and consequence free to get cars so easily...

What do you guys think?

Agree that it would be way too easy to start off with hundreds of cars so they must give us a challenge!

I will probably transfer them over, do a few laps in the F2007 & Veyron etc on the Nürburgring for a few hours (or days!) then reset and start it properly with 0 cars and let Gran Turismo take over the rest of my year!

Or maybe they will transfer but you won't be able to use them in the begining. Like in Forza 3 after the initial R8 race you can race with any car on any track in the game but you can't use them on carer mode until you buy them.

what my theory is implying is that you WILL NOT be able to transfer the cars like F2007 and Veyron to GT5...

Those are a few of the hardest cars to get. I'd be hardcore chapped if they're not transferable. I'm BANKING on these to transfer over so that I can go online and race everyone else who has one on GT5.

You sure about this? I also heard "The cars in GT5P are transferable to GT5 when it is released" in GT official website (maybe, if I remember:confused:). It sure is a lot of words to be revised in a dictionary.

If you're right, that would be a bad news for some car collectors :scared:.

I think they'll probably be completely transferable, look at the less hardline stance PD has been taking lately. They know we're cash cows and that if we want it harder we'll impose sanctions on our selves. (Actually sitting through a 24 hour race, only stopping to cram a hotpocket in our face when the car has to pit. Sipping water through a camelback to add realism. Don't lie to me, you've done it you filthy sim junkie you. Or at least I have, once.)

They want to move PSP's and GT PSP's off the shelves. What better way to sell GT5 than to have a prequel where you can start collecting cars only for a bulk transfer over? Seriously, after playing for this many weeks already, GT PSP is purely a game to collect cars, not a game with a "career" mode or whatever.

GT PSP is in fact great because it speaks to all the hardcore GT lovers out there. I say that because even though they are at least 25% duplicate vehicles in the game, we'll complain about it but we'll still buy it and store it in our garage. The people who have this game get the added advantage to jump start their GT5 if they so chose. It's going to be awesome.

I'll be sure to upload all 830+ cars to my GT5 and I'll see you guys online/ at GT academy the day of.

My guess was based on the system that GTPSP already uses... For GTPSP, you can "share" the cars and keep your own. I thinks the likely reason it would be this way. I just do not believe that the tradable cars will be able to be "shared" with GT5...

Well, in the Options menu, there's a button to transfer "Car Collection Data" via a USB connection. I assume this is for connecting your PSP to your PS3 to transfer your collection in one fell swoop.

Can't say whether it's all cars or just shareables, but no limitations are made apparent on the options screen.

I will be upset to say the least, if every single one of my PSP cars can't be transferred and used in GT5.. SIMULATION MODE. I bought GT PSP for this reason only. When Kaz said that all of the PSP cars will transfer over, I took that to mean ALL OF THEM, no hitches.

Starting GT5 from scratch would be fun if I were doing it this winter, like I thought I would be. Unfortunately, we will be getting GT5 at the start of summer, earliest. And I have much better things to do in fair weather than the tedious, though classic Gran Turismo beginning process.
