Its not that they are 'glitched' as such...........

its that they are in the wrong classes!!!

Some noob in a Super bee b1tched at me online last night, he sugested i was bitter cause he was faster than me (when i say faster i mean he left me standing on a straight in class B hopper).
I also see people on FM net saying that the yank tank complainers just are american muscle haters.....

Not true i know american muscle can be tunned to race level and do crazy speeds, but the real issue isnt that they can be made to go fast, but that they should be in a few classes higher!!!

This super bee should not be in class b.....thats the simple glitch there IMO.

What`s a yank tank, rice fan?

Just learn to drive faster and stop whining.

Do you even know that these cars are glitched?

the super bee storms class B and its only tuned to 445 PI!!!???

its huge glitch, but then you probably are the bloke exploiting it......

anyone who wins in a muscle car in forza 4 is a noob and its a hollow victory..

same goes for the RWD conversion on Hondas.... a) its wrong on so many levels and b) its a glitch as PI drops when you add RWD....

You are right that there is an issue and that the PI system is flawed, allowing some muscle cars (mainly the Super Bee and the Dart) to be upgraded way past the capabilities of any other cars in the respective classes.

It's also true that it's not a question of driving. If you're in a B-Class car and your opponent is using what's basically A-Class material, it says nothing about the driver's ability. The cars are performing so differently that the driver in the slower, or "unglitched" car would have to be trmendously better than the one using the glitched car. So, what LickitySplit says is basically impossible if you're racing with someone who's roughly on your skill level, on most tracks.

Calling the muscle car 'yank tanks' is where you've shot yourself in the foot. Nobody will take you seriously and attack you based on that alone. As you've already seen.

Nonetheless, you're right about the issue itself. Also, not all muscle car cars are glitched, so driving them doesn't automatically make you a glitcher.

Could I ask that you refrain from using the term 'yank tank', its on a similar level to 'ricer', etc.

From past experience all these terms tend to do is start arguments, and quite frankly that often distracts from what can be perfectly valid discussions.

Thanks

Sorry for any offence. None intended, wikipedia states its a fondly used term for old American cars used the world over......

No problem at all, and always keep in mind that Wiki can often not be the best source of info (it did once state that the main predator of the Thomson's Gazelle are Psyducks).

Still going on about these cars? wow. :dunce:

Some people never do manage to get to a drag strip and see just how fast some of these cars are. I soured plenty a Porsche owners face in my WS6 and then the laws changed...

Yes because it was faster. If you smoke someone in a straight line big deal, your car is faster, wow, i car is tuned to go fast it matters not if its up against a Ferrari or a F1 car, in a straight line it will win....:dunce:

Thats why in europe we race on 'circuits' which have corners, so we can judge a car and its driver on skills other than 'putting your foot down'.........

Who? me? first time i have IIRC. Certainly you'll not find any proof ive been banging on about it on thousands of posts dude. :dunce:

I know muscle cars can go fast, i know you can make them turn corners....well, sort of...:), but these one on Forza 4 that wipe the boards should be a class above maybe 2....so you are effectively racing against a class A or S car yet your in the B hoppers....thats what sucks!!

Oh and you should see some of the folks your defending, they steam off from the start line, smash everyone out of the way, then gun it to a corner then crash, but then whats this, cause their car is glitched it catches up again on the straight bits, then they just about learn to slow it down for corners and they win from that little skill.....great.....my hero's...

They're your excuses, tell 'em how you like.

What my excuse is I do track days on circuits in the UK with corners? How is that an excuse?

I never ever care a jot for racing someone in a straight line. One of the most pointless forms of racing ever.

This is the last time i'll rise to your trolling, i like it round here so i dont fancy getting banned. I'll happily ignore you from now on.

Please leave the wildly inaccurate and incorrect sterotypes at the door.

To imply that Europe doesn't do drag racing is incorrect (I've watched it many time since I was a kid and I live in the UK) and that it requires no skill is also incorrect.

It does require a different set of skills to circuit racing, but it certainly not just a case of point and shoot and as such I would strongly suggest that you leave the flame-bait out.

Every form of racing is pretty much pointless, none are more pointless than any other form of racing.

^That is in the UK.

I know there's drag racing all over the world, but its influence was clearly from America. Europeans invented circuit racing is all i am saying.
Its my opinion that i dont see the point or skill in 'putting your foot down' and having a faster car, im entitled to one.

I'd like to see Mr. Confidence's shorts after sitting him into the cockpit of a top fuel dragster that can beat a fighter jet down the runway, but don't worry.....no skill is required because the race is in America and there are no corners there.

And (for the sake of this argument) I don't see the point in going around the same track for 24 hours.

You are indeed entitled to your opinion, it's how you express that opinion that can get you in trouble.

As for it not taking skill, try this.(once you get an extremely good time about 50 times in a row, let me know)

Perhaps you are new to Forza?

Certain PI inequities, shall we call them, have been in all their games and FM4 is no exception.

I think a lot of people are missing the point. It's not that we (Europeans apparently) "hate on" American muscle cars or say that they cannot go fast. In fact, I think some of the most beautiful cars are US muscle cars (65 Mustang or the Impala SS are awesome!) and they can certainly go around tracks very fast. It just that the Super Bees and Darts are dominating multiple classes and that's unrealistic. A car with a PI of B445 shouldn't be able to dominate that class against B500 cars. If it was Asian or European I'd feel the same. They should link the tranny with the engine exchange for better balance. You really think you could put a torque-monster Viper engine in a Dodge Dart without replacing the transmission?

Wow! Why say something like this? Do you think that European drivers are in some way superior to the rest of the world? Comments like that are just silly imo.

God, I hate how some people are always turning this into a "muscle cars suck!" "no you, muscle cars rule!" argument.

It's about the PI system not being accurate. In the case of some of these muscle cars, it's so far off, it's not even funny. Because, frankly, the drawback that makes them retain that low PI is largely irrelevant on a lot of tracks.

I can get into a Dart, for example, and beat my lap times set with other cars very easily, and by quite a large margin. So, getting beat by someone who's driving a Dart or a Super Bee, while you are not, will quite often mean that you've been beaten by the car, not by the driver. Which sucks.

So, really, stop defending the whole mess. It's pretty obvious that the system is out of whack. it would be easily fixed, too, by mating the crate engines for the cars in question to an adjustable race transmission by default. I have a feeling that a lot of people would, all of a sudden, lose their interest in muscle cars, if that was to happen.

Oh, I also happen to think that you'd have to be quite biased towards muscle cars to ignore this whole issue. See what I did there?

^^^^^^^ this.

I think people mostly have an issue with how artboy has presented his case.

^^^^^^^ this.

Again, you can have your opinion, you just need to express it correctly. If you would have made a post like MB's this whole thing would have been avoided. Instead you took the "American's can only go straight and turn left" route, which can only lead to problems.

Does the PI system need fixing? Yes, it has since FM1.

Nope mearly pointing out that circuit racing was invented in Europe (France in fact) only few months before the Americans did a race to be fair. But we are splitting hairs there.

My main point is Europeans utilised the circuit racing a a means to show drivers skills and more importantly the strengths of a car not just based on how fast it can go, but how well it can handle.
"race on sunday, sell on Monday"

Theres some awesome American drivers who have driven in Europe and won, theres some fantastic American cars that have done the same.
They came to Europe to test themselves and the cars.

All i'm saying....... is that drag racing isnt my bag since luckyspilt piped up about it.
Drag racing ahs a skill set, but NOWHERE near the skill set required to race on circuits be it in europe OR america......

I think most people are aware of, and understand the issue of the PI inequality. Personally it drives me mad to see 99.9% of certain scoreboards being filled up with AMC Javelins or whatever.

However, it's got nothing to do with national stereotypes, and I think the reason this thread went downhill so quickly is because of the nationalistic language being banded around. It's just not necessary and only serves to create a bad vibe.

Again splitting hairs here, but please explain where i said "American's can only go straight and turn left"

i in fact said:

Use of term 'europe' is cause i'm, guess what, european, i see luckysplit is Canadian, so not european, so was speaking for myself as a european, i have never been to Canada, i dont even know if they race cars at all over there (but i will go research now, its the least i can do) so i didnt want to assume he knew why i loved circuit racing as its what i was brought up on here in europe.....thats all, no mention of Americans or even professional drag racing, just the response to people drag racing their own cars against others...that is all.

the rest is just people jumping to conclusions.

There's just no need to bring nationalities or terms like 'yanks' into the discussion. It just drags the conversation down.

You didn't, I was saying that is the type of argument you are using. It's pretty much the argument I see every time someone wants to discredit U.S. motorsports.

i in fact said:

Which is where I got that conclusion from.

Did you really expect that statement to go unnoticed?:odd:

the rest is just people jumping to conclusions.

I don't see anyone coming to conclusions other than you.
