Things are getting less dynamic

what they should do is use the spiffy little graph thing they already have. Limit each aspect of the cars performance. So it would then be down to the tune and the driver.

As I play more and more online races, I've noticed no one uses hardly any of the other cars that's available for racing.

Example: DB9, IS-F, XK, Mustang, M3, R8, Tamora, Speed Six, 512BB, Viper GTS, GT-R Proto, SL55

Its odd that all the cars here have been drifted by me and other people.

The only way these cars will be used if a 600-650pp shows up.
Then the reduced amount of tuned cars will be on the field.

But these cars are mainly used for online drifting ;)
512BB with S2's + Eiger = touge drift!

I see that a lot of people agree with me. Although at first I didn't mind me not using my Integra R in online races but how long has it been? Almost 3 months, and I think that's long enough

in the 600-700pp races people just use the clio...i hate the clio :(

I wish the AM vette and 599/f430 were more competitive in the 750 club.

I've tried racing the less-popular cars online, but an Astin will always get smoked by all the knuckleheads in Ford GT's. I haven't raced online in over a month. it's just no fun anymore. We need more tracks to keep it interesting!

Agreed ... it's a shame that a majority of the vehicles are under-utilised.

PD could make it happen by making more 'car specific' races in their updates imo

From my experience though, the more equal you make cars the more likely you are to get rammed when draft passing somebody. Go race that fuji race with the stock cars, on the final lap on the straight people will gladly crash into you to prevent you from passing them. It's almost like they think it's 'cheating' or an 'insult'...as if they feel like because they came out of the last turn in front of you then they deserve that position and drafting them is cheating because they were 'obviously' a better than you for 3 laps.

Hell even on the 800pp races people do that, but i've definitely noticed it a lot more with the un-tuned cars since generally those are more equal.

I feel like they could EASILY fix this problem through many different ways. They could put a line-of-sight box in front of each car that's maybe 100ft long, that activates on straights. If it's clear, and a car moves into it then that's their first block. So you move, the box becomes empty, and if that same car moves back into your box then they ghost..but ONLY for you. Also, if two cars are overlapping, but next to each other, on a straight; then the game should recognize 2 things: first, what side of the car you're on, and second...if start to move your car in the left/right direction of the other car then you immediately ghost and stay ghosted for maybe 3-5 seconds (with no penalty), and if while ghosted you try and move towards the other time again you get another 3-5sec time tacked on.

Unfortunately programmed 'AI' will always make mistakes, in reality I think the best way to stop the ramming is to play in private rooms with a set of people who you know you can trust, that's why most of us are here I'm guessing. I can't honestly see a time where any AI can make 'judgment calls' to whether someone has double blocked for example and to make the correct decision most of the time. I think imho we need to cut PD some slack, the AI has vastly improved since GT5P's first release, and you can't please all of the people all of the time. I know it's been said before, but as soon as private rooms come I think people in general will be a lot happier about online play. Nice idea about the boxes, but how will the AI know that the person in front of you has moved to double block you, instead of them trying a pass a car that they are racing with and they've just happened to cross your line? Without knowing their intent I don't think you can expect the AI to make the correct call, that's why private rooms (he says confidently ;)) are definitely the future.

The blocking box would only be 'on' for straights, like fuji or the straight before the 130r. They would have to designated, on the map, these sections much like they already do with short-cut sections. The side-to-side detection would be amazing, especially at daytona oval and road.

I also think cars need to become ghosts, without looking like ghosts, when they're more than 84% on the brakes. This will, for the most part, stop people who ram into the back of you while you're braking for a turn. I mean sometimes I'll use a car like the 599 at 800pp fuji, which requires a HUGE braking distance, so quite often I'll brake off-line (on the inside) so the /tuned cars won't slam into the back of me. But it's amazing...people actually see me, and aim for me. I'm no where near in their way and they still go out of their way to run into the back of me.

The simple fact of the matter is that this game rewards people for bad conduct. If you're going 2-wide into suzuka turn 1, why should you NOT ram the other drive off the course? If you do NOT ram him off, then you have to drive slower through that turn, which means the cars behind you will gain on you, plus you still have this competitor who very likely could pass you. But if you ram him off, not only do you lose a competitor but you also don't have to slow down any more than is necessary. It's the same with ramming into the back of people...you gain a braking advantage (hitting cars is better than pressing square), and you also lose a competitor. Why shouldn't you go nuts and block people like CRAZY on the fuji straight? If you don't they'll just draft pass you.

Hopefully when we get private rooms we can have cool stuff like make-only races. A Lancia only race at the Eiger for instance... That car just isn't going to be competitive with more modern cars but it's still fun to drive.

I raced the delta at 600pp Daytona Oval a few times. Beat a couple people but I was still way back in the pack.

i would love to race with any of the other vehicles provided in the game. A private room with a EVO vs WRX battle would be fantastic. or maybe cappucino only race across Suzuka? I for one look very forward to the implementation of private rooms, and believe it will add much needed life to the online portion of GT5:P.

I use the DB9 and ISF a fair bit, the DB9 being my favourite car ingame. I've gone online with it and had a few races but I usually end up coming last. The other cars online are usually the ones which can reach the certain limits, while these cars are often around 50 performance points away. I would consider myself a drifter, and I have used most of these (underrated?) cars.

R8 was my choice a couple of months back now I am actually trying other cars beside the usual choices of course to have more fun.

p.s: Big trucks should be available for rammers

"THE ASTON"-DB9 is one of my favourite alternatives when it comes to car selection(current,700@suzuka event)although it does make you feel like your driving a grandfather clock against the other cars sometimes... lol.But it has good pace, with great handling(with my'a1P'setup)it sure does open a few eye's ONTRACK.....!

the high pp events sucks... For me it´s more luck then good drive to do 5 perfect laps @suzuka 750pp it´s all much too fast...

The fuji pro event is nice...

I hope we´ll see more low pp events @ the next online events... So we can use the slower cars,i would also love to race with the 350z,tvr,135i asf... Only one 500pp event will be great...

+1

Private rooms will bring private races with whatever cars you desire to have entered. An all Mustang event around Daytona road would be cool,an all DB9 event around Suzuka, would be nice. This type of racing is coming ( hopefully soon ),hang in there,I know I am.

Would'nt it be sweet if PD could take a lesson in online play from F1 Champ Edition.💡

aaaaaaaanddddd.......... the handline feels weird. If you got off gt5 and went straight back to gt3, you would have problems driving
