Things that really irritate me about Gt3.

The SLK 230, the S2000 LM Race Car, and Jaguar XKR are the cars I know of that have a SuperCharger in GT3. I believe they are the only ones, too.

I don't see where the problem would lie with the use of NOS should a drag racing element be incorporated into the game. N2O's been in use in drag racing since the 60's (possibly even earlier, albeit often catastrophically unreliably). Being able to use it in track racing mode would destroy the game though. Just my two cents.

No no no no no ... I wasn't talking to you. I was referring to Cano's silly post. I think I agree with most of what you've been saying.

It certainly seems like drag racing would be a little weird in GT4. I really wonder what kind of implementation they were planning on in GT2 before they pulled it out.

NO2 wouldn't be that bad if they were sensible and only allowed it in a few races. I know I can't think of any legitimate pro events besides drag racing that allow it. It would actually be pretty funny to see a few of the Beginner / Amateur League races with little rice rockets zipping around. They could also give it an increasing % chance to damage your car for the rest of the series for every additinoal time you use it in a race.

It would make it much easier (and a little less boring) for people starting off if you could just buy a $13,550 Trueno then stick a $1,500 NO2 kit on it to use in your 2-lap Beginner League races while you're trying to make money for a good car.

I suppose you could argue that GT3 is going a bit overboard in favor of Japanese cars just looking at the Integras.

Acura Integra Type R = 1197kg, 191 HP -> 368 HP
Honda Integra Type R = 1080kg, 191 HP -> 454 HP

I mean, what excuse to they have for letting you get 86 HP more out of the Japan version? They've both got the same engine, and you'd be doing the same thing to upgrade either one.

And it's a little dumb that they let Acuras in the Stars & Stripes events...

drag racing should be in gt4 but not nos... u think nos would help you get first instead of 2nd...BSu would hit it everytime you come out of a corner and either spin or be going too fast to stop... then if you had damage which is prob bugging u your nos would cost more than it would bring in

Yes, I think it has something to do with all these "JDM" versions of cars and everything, I think the Japanese version is enhanced a little or something like that...

I've been agreeing with milefile and a little bit of what BadBatsu has been saying...:)

if it helps....
the us market always gets the watered down versions of japanese sports cars. the best example (in my opinion) is the whole s13-s14 silvias vs. 240-280sx. they get the quite potent SR20DET while we're stuck with the KA series motors. along the line of what kideng was saying, it's partly because of the emissions laws in the u.s. and a "lack there-of" in japan.. another is the safety tests in the u.s. (a major reason we havent gotten the lancer evo until now). just some thoughts....:cool:

I would NOT want Nitrous Oxide in any Gran Turismo game, EVER. Full Stop.

I agree 100%. I don't want to ever see any kind of arcadey boost action going on in GT games, even if you can explain it away on a Nitro button.

Stupidity ensues!! ok. here goes:
I NEVER said I hated the japanese cars in GT3. in fact I like them. I think that most of the best cars in the game are japanese and I drive some of them much. I dont have problems with the japanese cars. I have problems with the way the game was programed. look, I counted. 75% of the cars in the game are japanese. that is what REALLY irritates me the most. that you throw in two lancer 7s that are only distinguished by the badges in their rears, but you have ONE BLOODY bmw on the game. and no, I am not one of those dudes that thinks that mclarens, ferraris and porsches should be included in the game. I think the deffect on gran turismo 3 is that it is TOO japanese-overkill over any other cars. I dont want my moms pontiac in because my mom doesnt even drive. but I wouldnt mind having some more real good rest of the world cars instead of that mentioned lancers or such atrocities as the suszuki demio and that stuff. dont get me wrong, I dont have anything against japanese cars, nor I do hate them, but I think that gran turismo is really overflooded with them. that is why I complain. and, well, Im sacrastic. too much, at times... sue me (see?).

Cano

stupidity ensues because my avatar is no hentai, and you are saying that I hate japan just because of the stuff stated above. are you one of those people that think that every anime-thing is hentai? if so, tell me so I can get you in my ignore list.

13 years ago there was this old game I used to play in arcades called Ironman Ivan Stewart's Super Off Road. It was a stupid game, but it was a ton of fun. You drove around on these arena tracks, you could upgrade your car between races, and trophies were presented by hot chicks.

Anyway, that post just made me think of it, because Off Road had a big Nitro button, and when you hit it the game made this really funny EWWWOOOOHHHHHHH!!! sound.

Cano:
Calm down there, fella :D

I was playing around. I do agree with you to some extent.

I'm sure everybody would like to see more cars of every kind, and it's a common complaint that the game is flooded with a stupid amount of Lancers & Skylines and is totally missing a lot of good stuff. Other than the fact that there are more Japanese cars in the game, though, there aren't many examples of a legitimate bias towards Japanese cars.

Aww, come on. I know what kind of people use anime avatars. I majored in Japanese for 3 years. I know you really just want to see her naked, crying and having every orifice brutally assaulted by alien tentacles.

Hai, so desu ne!

BTW the two roadgoing Evo7s are distinguished by about 150kg and 30hp. Of the FOUR roadgoing Evo6s, there's the more powerful, lighter RS, then three identical versions of the Evo6GSR - the GSR, the Tommi Makinen Edition and, most pointless of all, the Tommi Makinen Edition "Stripe", which is just another paint option for the TME. Now THAT I don't get.
