that wasn't feint/scandinavian flick, that was just linking a drift. BTW, about the "scandinavian flick", it is the same thing as a feint drift, just a different name. on of the places used in the WRC is the Scandinavian Forest somewhere not in the US and I am guessing that it has lots of hairpins and so the technique is used to get though the turns fast and is probably where it got its name. but then again this is just speculation.

Yeah, the link is broken because it was on a FTP that was down for a while now :( I have a slow connection or else I could of uploaded it onto a FTP myself, but if anyone else is willing to upload the video onto pergatory's FTP, then many people would thank you :)

Feint drifting is swinging the car back and forth before a turn, like trying to get the rear end loose so that the car can hold the drift longer on the straight before the corner. In this video, I drifted the first corner of Tokyo R246 with a modded S2000 and I started to drift on the rumple strips on the left through the whole turn. Using weight transfer is the major key in this kind of drift. Also, feint drifting is very similar to inertia drift [Initial D jargon :P]

I'll see what I can do to upload the video onto a new FTP.

Actually lately the NFS series has dropped the "in car" camera....Porsche unleashed was sadly the last game to incorperate this absolutely stunning view....wouldn't it be nice if hot pursuit 2, or UNDERGROUND had it? ofcourse...but no....the NFS series lately, including Motor City Online, have all been quick money grabbers that they don't really take their time with.....Underground looks great, the demo is really promising, but i still wish you could race through the eyes of the driver...instead of the grill.

How does that relate to feint drifting? lol

Lots of people have been going off topic lately. For the people who wanted to watch the video, how was it?

Downloading now..............Wait for input................Ok, I hope this was an old vid, because those were very sloppy drifts. You hit the wall when you rebounded from your feint, and you didn't use propper throttle control. I hope I am not offending you, but I just call it like I see it. Do you have any other vidz I can check out?;)

Actually, I never did hit the wall, but yeah if you look on the date of the WMV, it says June 9, 2003. My drifts have gotten much better than that since then. And I also only drifted three corners in that video I think.

Yeah, but I *almost* got perpendicular with the wall. If you look at the replay I think it was really close to the wall. That's why I let the car drift outward.

I always enjoy learning new things:D
I've been doing something similar to link chicanes, but this gives me something new to try on short 90degree turns.
thanx.....

I uploaded my other video, Drifting: R34 Style. It's a video I made with only R34s during last summer. You can download it by right clicking, Save Target As.

In this video, I try not to countersteer on some of the turns. I think they were turn 4 on Tokyo, the big U-turn on Apricot Hill, Super Speedway, and probably more.
