Ok, this is not aimed at starting some fierce argument, but why....oh why, can we NOT sell some cars.??

Realistically, most of them are useless...(at least appear to be to me anyway... )
Sure, they may be kool stuff like Audi's etc....but how wants to hoon around in a sooped up 4x4 grocery getter..... Ok, there may be a few of you I guess...
Even the mighty ZR1 Corvette....?
Yes, I bought one of them, completely bombed it with the race package and millions of HP....Now it's worthless. :dunce: :banghead:

Why is it so hard to make these cars re-sellable....?? I'd be happy with a $1000 trade-in on the Vette...

/Rant. :)

the car manufacturers told PD to make their cars unsellable, this is how PD got rich.

That's my theory.

Somehow I won two of Leno's tank cars. I'll never use them and I'd like to sell them. They aren't fun to drive either. But if you buy a new one it's like 3 million. I don't get it either. LOL.

It's really annoying.I bought my self a nascar for the seasonal event,i went to make an oil change and i got +20 ps,tragic mistake.
I then moved to the garage to sell it and pick a new one and..........grrrrrrrr.

Yeah I truly don't understand why they lean you towards holding on to some of the more pointless cars. I find myself asking, how does this car have no monetary value whatsoever? Can't I sell it to a scrap yard to melt down for a few hundred credits? Can't I trade it to a bum for the contents of his change cup?

Further, from a theoretical standpoint who gets these cars if you should so decide to get rid of one? Do you just leave them in a parking lot with the keys in the ignition and a note saying "beware, this vehicle has no monetary value"?

This. Is. Dumb. In GT4 you could easily make millions by selling the RSC Rally Raid car... Does anyone know what makes a car not be able to be sold? Is it price? Type? Why oh why....

i suppose the other alternative would be to swap them, but that in itself has problems, e.g will you get a car in return or why would someone even want a won car as they can just win it themself.

It is annoying. I 'removed' the Audi Pikes Peak grocery getter, and then 'won' another one for my 1000 ticket. Guess I should have left it in the garage or trailer and maybe I would have gotten something different.
I am starting B-spec and just leaving the unwanted cars in the delivery trailer rather than put them in my garage where they are an eyesore

Kinda like in antiques, it's only worth what one will pay for it. Non-RM'ed has a better resale (to the masses) then a RM'ed model, at least in real life.

Whenever you go to trade a car in real life, the dealers want it as stock as possible.

Thats nowhere near as bad as "This car cannot be removed from your garage."

I have the gamestop nascar and I wanted to get rid of it since this game made me hate nascar more than I already did. Nope, I cant even GET RID of it. I dont even care if I cant sell it for money, but to make me HAVE to keep it?!

It would be nice to be able to sell them and maybe they will change it but with the birthday feature being exploited and now the car cloning there would be some seriously rich people in the game in a matter of days so we may not get this option.

Doesn't make any difference. I won 2 Carbon Rs after I already bought 1.

There's a money cap at 20mil. That's not seriously rich.
IMO this is just another poor thought out attempt at making us play the game like they wanted. There's no more (very little) freedom to do whatever you want like previous GT games.

I second that. I blame it on the obsession with online fairness.
I really wish they would completely sever online and offline, both would be better that way.

You could just uninstall the dlc right?

Here is my take:

I do the birthday cheat, get a 20 mil car, sell it, buy loads of cool stuff.

Rinse and repeat. The game becomes and endless round of cheat/exploit buy WTH I want.

Or, play the game, do races, win money, buy cars. Serious players will continue to play for months to fill their garages.

I do not want a quick fix. I want to earn the cars, even if it takes me years. Like it did in GT4.

If you want an easy game go buy something else. Like Ridge Racer 7.....

The cars you cant sell are typically prize cars, it sucks but makes sence.

Thanks for your response guys. :)
So, at least I'm not alone in my way of thinking, hey. 👍

I might use that tip on leaving unwanted cars in the "delivery trailer"...until it gets full.

And I haven't purchased a NASCAR as yet, so that's interesting, that it can't even be removed....

The 20M $/credit cap probably has a lot to do with it I guess...but yeah, why have that limit. ?? :irked:

Regardless, keep racing and having fun guys, I am. ;)
cheers

I know it may not be the right place but hey, I wouldn't mind that grocery getter. I've got one myself, gonna use one for racing and one for drifting. Just curious if you still have it and wish to get rid of it. Not sure what you'd want in return?

On topic though: GT4 had it nice, and somewhat reasonable. Some prototypes you couldn't sell, I think I can understand that. ALL CARS YOU PURCHASE SHOULD BE ABLE TO BE SOLD. It makes no sense otherwise. Also back in GT4 if you traded cars with someone, all unlisted price concept cars were automatically set for 200k. Sooo. . . why can't I sell it for 200k? Odd that a VW Nardo and a prototype Mazda 6 are both 200k, don't you think?

I think it's because some of the cars are priceless, such as some of the concepts and some racecars. PD would have no idea how much that car would be worth unless it was a real road car that was sold at one point. That's my guess.

Yeah, does anyone want 2 Jay Leno Tank Cars? I thought one was too many for my taste... :yuck:

A car I just bought from the ucd isn't priceless.. It just had a price a moment ago :)

Having been a car dealer for 12yrs it entirely depends on the model of car. Rare and sought after model? Definitely worth more in stock form. Fast but common, more often worth more race-modified than stock. Slow and common? Leave it stock.

I've got the Audi Pikes Peak thing I won, never driven. And I don't need it.
