Ran out of time to do a final run for this. Definitely had quite a bit more time to find.
Not sure who is making these combo's? Why is this quite obviously a road car getting put on Racing mediums? Not sports mediums, not racing softs, racing mediums? At this point I think someone accidentally selected the wrong tyres, trying to select sports mediums, but no one could be bothered to fix it and now here we are, bouncing off kerbs like a pogo stick.
I think it's pretty well known that if you're going to put super sticky tyres on a road car, you need to firm up the suspension so that it doesn't become a wobbly, unnatural mess. Maybe the people creating the time trials need to be reminded of this.
Next on my list of complaints, what is going on with the gear ratios and power band in this thing? Why is 5th gear longer than the distance to the moon? Why in a rotary powered car, a motor known for its lack of torque and high revving nature, are we short shifting? I certainly hope the real RE Amemiya is not tuned like this.
Also wasn't using countersteer assist. I refuse to use these kinds of imaginary assists unless I absolutely need them to get into gold. Somehow CSA is improving how the car bounces off the kerb on the entry to the Schumacher S, since I wasn't using CSA, I had to contend with the car trampolining off that kerb every lap. Guess that's just another one of the magical superpowers of CSA.
Pretty disappointing combo this one, which is a shame because if it didn't have all these weird quirks, it would probably have been pretty fun.
Sounds like the Corvette CX.R is a nightmare on controller, so I think that's going to be a one and done trial.
Hopefully the R8 is more fun.
