I was bored cuz all my IM buddies are offline now and I came here. I saw that about 4 or so threads closed right in a row and the one called "did i make a mistake?" stood out to me so I read it and darklegion_ca posted a rather interesting picture in it (as you can all go see if you click the link) and before he closed the thread (At least I think he did) neon_duke posted this:

And I'd like to second the mention that km/darklegion is going to get banned for that picture. I better never see it again in one of your posts.

And I'm sitting here thinking why? Other people post stuff like that, and I know I've seen worse stuff posted in the HMRCWG? thread and those members didn't get banned for it. Is it true what Curveball said when he said:

Because you're not Klos.

Do some members get special treatment just because they've been here for a while or just because they're moderators? If so, its not fair. I've been here a good while now, for over a year and a half in fact, and its usually a pretty friendly place until someone starts to act like a total idiot and post nothing but spam. Usually I agree with the mods if I see what they've done, but if darklegion_ca gets banned for that picture, even if he has posted it more than once. It might be "spam" but its also spam for all those people who post in those threads when they're just saying junk like oh this thread will be closed or it'll get you banned or some junk like that.

I could be wrong, I'm not here as much as I used to be because I've yet to get a PS2 and gt2 is kinda lost on me now so I just hang out for the photoshop comps and a few jokes but its how it seems to me. I hope I don't come back here tomorrow morning and see a bunch of people posting that this is gonna get closed or get me banned. THAT'S an annoying thing here and on pretty much every web forum I've ever been too! :p

You are aware that darklegion = km. And that the profile "km" was banned because the person using it at the time was a nit-wit and trouble causer. I think people who have transgressed in the past get a shorter leash - deservedly so - because they are liable to revert to old ways.

Some of those "spammers" say why the thread will be closed, when the thread is on the verge of being closed. You may note that the majority of threads that are close are started by newbs who blatently ignore AUP. If they chose to do that, they open themselves to so called "spam".

Well, first and foremost, the post contains foul language that is in violation of the Acceptable Use Policy. So for one, he clearly broke the rules set forth by this sites owner.

Second, km/darklegion has been banned before. His new account is an opportunity for him to make a fresh start. However,
when he posts things that are in clear violation of the rules it seems as though he is not wanting to make a fresh start and therefore will be subjected to having his account permanently closed here.

There may have been things such as that pic posted in the HMRCWG thread, but that thread has been closed due to it's content among other things.
Also, the moderation team has taken a more positive stance on enforcing the rules. Being a bit more proactive than what you may have been used to seeing before.

Ooookay. During my time. But before my time.

Edit: Thanks CB

No. It's more because they aren't assholes that people can't stand.

I had seen km around before, but I never knew he had been banned. when neon_duke called him km/darklegion I figured it was just another of the guy's user names. Like I said, I ain't around as much as I used to be. :O

I thought it was, but I wasn't sure...

yeah, I know its been closed. That thread was one of the reasons I hung out here so much wayyy back then hehe. I just mean that the people weren't banned for the pics even when they did it more than once in there back when the thread wasn't closed.

Yes, however, there has been a sort of salutary neglect on the matter of swearing. I mean, the rule has always been there, but you, the mods, have rarely (if ever) enforced it.

I can agree with that one, I mean, he broke the rules before, and didn't even respond to his punishment...

That wasn't why the HMRCWG thread was closed. There's a link to it in my sig, and Jordan closed it for just a few main reasons that I can think of:
1. The thread was getting too big. Any more growth (at the rate it had been going) and the forum may have become inevitably slow. At least it's still around for us to gawk at, if it hadn't been stopped then it would have been deleted.
2. there was a new chatroom in place that lasted little more than a month that Jordan tried to divert traffic to. Unfortunately, the chatroom was deleted with GTP5 (if memory serves me correctly) because no one was using it.

This thread is now closed. It is simply putting too much of a strain on our community and morale to continue. :(

That's all I can think of off the top of my head, but the HMRCWG Thread was not closed for content, if that were the issue then it would have been deleted, so please don't use that arguement.

Haha, if that's what you want to believe then fine. And you would certainly know better than I would.

And please try to read and then comprehend my entire post before you respond to it.

But that's what I'm saying; content wasn't one of the reasons it was closed (if it had been closed for content, then it would have also been deleted).
