This is how gt4 will turn out

Well if its anything like the PC increasing the resolution has less impact on frames per second than Antialiasing. So 800x600 would be good aslong as it didn't loose many fps imo

GT3 didnt portray speed very well, atleast on the PAL version. (They better include a 60hz option :( )

GTC looks a lot sharper than GT3

before GT3 game out, did they have any betas with the final graphics? perhaps GT4 will, then someone can get a copy of that beta, and actually post some REAL captures, then we can tell. cuz even taking pictures of a screen isnt too good.

This 'upscan convertor' will let you connect PS2 to a PC monitor and supposedly makes the picture much better:

It's not a VGA box.

Some of the more expensive HDTVs have ciruitry that will improve the signal from any video source to near HDTV quality(supposedly). I'd like to see what GT3 looks like on a HDTV.

Lol, exactly.

Never argue with a stupid person, you'll never win.

Haha, at least I'm not the only one that feels that way  You'll never win an argument with him, I don't know what proof he needs that it's a render and GT4 will not look that good on the PS2, but obviously we don't have it :irked:

I think PD wants gt4 to look better than gt3 which did have jaggies, don't you think PD wants gt4 with out jaggies. It's not like you are making the game maj so you know nothing about it.

Well I obviously know more than you because of the simple fact I can tell the difference between a shot from the PS2 and a rendered publicity shot, something you have no yet grasped. You think GT4 will look as good as those crystal clear, high resolution, anti-aliased shots down on a very complex and powerful graphics computer? Wow, will you ever be sorely disappointed when you play GT4, because the fact of the matter is it will look nowhere near that good, at least until the PS3 maybe... :trouble:

Yeah but I expect when GT4 does come out he'll say it does look as good as the renders coz he won't be able to spot the difference on his TV with his over-reactive imagination :)

What you are talking about is called a Video Scaler, often referred to as a "line doubler."

On my Sony HDTV, GT3 looks fantastic. Using the component cable really improves the picture quality, but the jaggies get more noticeable, so I don't know what you are trying to say what that "'upscan convertor'" is suppose to do.

I heard that GT4 will run in an 800*600 resolution, other than that though thoes Skyline pics were from the first pres pack so no they arn't shots of the game running, they have been made to look better than GT4 will, thats not saying GT4 won't be better than GT3 and GTC graphics wise, I believe it will be but not THAT much better, it's already been said that it's the trackside and backgrounds that have been improved most, the car will look similar to the ones in GTC.

No, you heard wrong. In this month's issue of PSM Magazine, Yamauchi said GT4 will run at the standard 640 x 480 resolution. No high-def mode, but the 16:9 aspect ratio feature will be back.

To bad, I was looking foward to a high-def title for the PS2, and I wanted GT4 to be my first high-def game, but now I have to wait for GT5 which should be in high-def, since the PS3 will use a recordable HD-DVD driver. Boy, that was a long sentence.

Actually I do believe the PS2 uses something like 640*420 for resolution, I know it isn't the standard 640*480 format that a PC uses anyway...
