I just found the article written in the New Zealand Herald on it.

Colin Giltrap who owns a chain of car yards is the only NZ buyer thus far. There are two heading to Australia so they must be fine/legal there.

The car has a 5.4 litre supercharged V8 engine producing 450kw (600bhp). Above 95kmh (59mph) it deploys a rear spoiler at a 10deg angle, this also acts as an air brake by shifting forward to a maximum of 65degs.
The SLR uses a stiff carbon-fibre monocoque chassis to which carbon-fibre body panels and the mechanicals are attached. This is the same Mercedes-Benz and McClearen developed their own carbon-fibre technology, rather than adopt the technology used by formula one.
Weight distrabution is near 50/50. The doors are gull wing but instead of lift upwards they rotate on a hinge in front of the outside wing mirrors.

Yep, Its ugly from the front. If that Logo weren't in the middle of the front it would look so much better. It almost sits up there with Porsche's Cayenne(IMO) and GM's Pontiac Aztek. The latter of the three being the most Fugly.

I don't think it is that bad. Also keep in mind that the picture is of the concept, and they are always wackier than production. Also, other cars have side exit exhaust, besides JGTC Supra.

that's the only angle the thing looks good from. Doors open with the 3/4 angle from the front. From any other angle, the car is Butt Fugly.

This is the new Mercedes SLR McLaren -- Mercedes' answer to the Modena, 911 and Murcielago. It tops out at 205mph with a 0-60 time of 3.8. If recall, the lines and design are compliments of McLaren, while the engine is all AMG.

I think you're a bit wrong here ! The SLR is no competition for the Modena, 911 & Murcie. It's more a competetor for the Enzo and Carrera GT
