this is BS:grumpy:

Funny. If I were the OGC I'd ask for a partial refund. I don't think they'll get very far though.

They’re going to get more column inches than they could ever have expected before. If I were them, I would be pretty pleased.”

I'd have to ban myself if I made any further comment on that one...

£14000 for the OGC to agree on a new logo? I would have said that that was cheap. Even if it's just three letters in not-quite-black and with mega negative kerning.

This is why I'd love to work for a company like Wolff Olins.

Really? I can't imagine anything more stifling than trying to get a bunch of civil servants to agree on a creative process. Seriously, every good idea you had would be pooh-poohed until you just whacked out three letters in a not-entirely-rare typeface, with massive negative kerning, all with a letter saying that the project was now over budget.

Is it me or would that look like a nice keyring?

£14k for that though? Thats 4 seconds in Photoshop, provided you know what font your gonna use.

That's almost as good as the A-Style logo. Except their's is probably intentionally rude.

Fairly big proviso there. It just seems as if the people who are saying "It's a lot of money for not a lot of design" haven't worked with civil servants.

We call it D-style in the 'States.

As for the OGC logo, it accurately depicts civil servants.

Reminds me of the waste of money spent on the London Olympics logo which they still haven't changed and looks equally offensive.

I don't get what's wrong with the Olympics one. Someone help me out. Sorry, but I don't see the "toileting monkey" or anything else.

Isn't inappriopiate img's not allowed?

as for the OGC flipped 90 deg., it looks more like a guy holding up his Johnson rather than a keyring

That's all part of the design process though, ideas will constantly be bounced back and forth unless proper research is done on what the client wants and needs.
