...So, uh, I didn't want to dig up this thread but seeing that no one's gotten around to making the Thor: Ragnarok one, I guess it'll have to do.

Well, whaddya know.

A few months ago, I made this little post (in Thor: Tha Dark World thread):

...What's this thing about Thor 3 teaser popping out on Civil War screenings? I certainly didn't see it. Anyone else saw it?

Do I need to youtube it now?

Turns out, it was this one, although the caption on the vid says "leaked footage from Comic-Con 2016". Which is weird, 'cuz it's the exact same footage I've seen, although with a little bit more tacked on at the end.

I always found it odd and funny how no one in Asgard pronounces his name correctly, or how Thor doesn't correct anyone on Midgard. I bet Stellan Skarsgård must have been biting his tongue :)

Surprised that as well as the Capt. America Civil War movie was received, World War Hulk/Thor Ragnorok hasn't had it's own thread yet...

It's a matter of Marvel dropping a trailer. Until then there's not really much to talk about, except speculation.

When I do a search, sometimes I don't see a thread that's already made. Oh, well. We have one now.
If you go into the advanced search settings, you can restrict the search to thread titles rather than post content. It's very useful if you're looking for an existing thread.

Okay, I'm sold. That looked AWESOME.

As I figured last year, Spidey actually feels like the weakest of the Marvel trio this year. Thor 2 was one of the weakest films in the franchise, but this looks like it could be not just the best Thor movie (not a hard feat), but one of the better Marvel movies period.

Wow. There's a lot going on there. Least of all the way Marvel somehow convinced Led Zeppelin to let them use "Immigrant Song".

Man this looks awesome, it's their weakest franchise but picking the right director will do that. Kinda surprised about the tone though, do not know much about the comic but thought Ragnarok was a serious event.

That looks awesome, it's in my definitely going to watch list.

I'm more excited for this right now than the Justice League movie, both look great but something in this is just a little more cinematic to the comic books than the WB production.

not a single Rotten

...Corrections!! Mr. Peter Debruge from Variety doesn't think it's fresh. :D

Some choice quotes:

it’s another Thor movie, and that can only mean one thing: It’s almost time for another Avengers movie!
....
with yet another confusing plot crudely bastardized from Norse mythology in which most of the action takes place on a parallel world you care nothing about.

Like Thor’s two previous solo outings (definite low points in the Marvel oeuvre), this one is pretty much skippable, although it’s not without its pleasures — most notably, the fact that Thor’s not so solo this time around

Ouch.

Whatever. I'm still seeing this.

Saw this last night and loved it. A few unexpected cameos and it was very Guardians of the Galaxy esque in tone but it all worked and I really enjoyed it.

I too saw it last night, and I very much disliked it. The characters were entirely different from how they were in the other movies, the humor was mostly childish and poorly written, and the action was as generic as can be.

I watched this last night. I like the direction this movie went. Previous Thor movies took themselves just a little too seriously. This one lightened things up and you can see everyone was having fun with it. Some acting highlights for me were Kate Blanchett's absolutely delicious Hela, Karl Urban's surprisingly understated performance as Skurge, Jeff Goldblum's insane Grandmaster, and Taika Wiakiki's very down-to-earth bloke-ish Korg.

One of the good things about this movie was the way they kept poking fun at different sc-fi tropes.
Thor continually interrupting Surtur while rotating in the chains, Scrapper 142 shouting "He's mine!" and then promptly falling off her gangwalk, "because that's what heroes" throws ball, bounces off window, knocks him down, gets up "that's what heroes do", Bruce Banner jumping off the ship onto the bifrost in front of Fenrir without transforming into Hulk. Anthony Hopkins portraying Tom Hiddleston portraying Loki portraying Odin: "Oh ****."
Overall, one of the better Marvel movies.

I thought it was great. It was different from Thor: The Dark World but I can't see how that's a bad thing in any way.

Sorry for the double post but I'm kind of surprised no-one on this forum pointed out that the spaceships were all named after models of Holden car. Commodore, Tirano and apparently there was a Statesman and Kingswood as well.

Watched it yesterday and loved it. Was amazing. Fun, good visual effect and lots of laugh. Wasnt expecting something like that but I laugh a lot.
