Yes, I hate them, they block the view and all I want to do is to chase and overtake my own GHOST CAR, as in GT5.

I can't see where to do something better, eg a corner etc, when it is covered in with blue lines.

Is there a way to get rid of them and just have your own ghost (car) instead?

I know how to remove them and my ghostly line together, top directional button on the DS3, mind you they always return without being asked, but I only want MY GHOST CAR on the track with me.

Can it be done, and if so could you please advise me of how to do it?

Hoping for a good reply here but if that's not going to happen be brutal and lay it on the line for me.

Thanks in advance.

Could you clarify your post? It seems to me that you want your own ghost car, but you want to remove it, but you only want your ghost car on the track. My head kind of hurts from this.

You can change the settings for the Ghost to be a line instead of the afterimage of the car, makes it easier so it doesn't block your screen as much. Forgive me if I'm not reading your question right.

He wants to get rid of his friend's ghost trail and only see his own ghost.

Ah I see, now thanks for the clarification. Try doing it in a test drive, lap times are not recorded in there only in time trials which are open online I believe. Run a lap, save it, or continue running and your ghost line will follow, good cheap fun for me. I usually go to Ascari and run 10 laps and try to shave my first lap down by at least 5 seconds and then move on if I'm bored.

AFAIK there is no way to remove them without removing your own ghost....even removing friends from your PSN doesn't affect it either as they still show up on the ghost trails

Thanks for the replies fellas.

When you have 10 or 12 friends doing the Licence tests, currently Special Licence, all those blue lines can actually block the view of the road. Especially bad when it's a new track which you are not that familiar with.

Why they did this I cannot fathom but I'll bet somewhere down the line it's removed.

When it's only your own ghost car in front you can easily see where to improve on corners etc, as in GT5, 4, 3, etc.

Anyway appears it can't be changed at the moment, thanks 'Nursemorph', about what I figured.

Have you tried not signing in to PSN? I know when I was doing some tests initially offline there were no friend's tron trails. I like seeing them because I see the different lines people take and figure my own best line to beat them.

You dont like my trail ? ;)

The only way to do a Licence test with just your own ghost to follow is offline, but then if you do it like that, your best time does not get recorded onto the servers and your friends will never see your best time and that you have bettered them in the Licence test, so it becomes a trade off, would you rather have your best time on the server for all of your friends to see or not?

I think that is how it works anyway. I am sure I bettered one of my times offline once and it did not show up on the leaderboard, my previous best was still there so I had to do it over while online.

Be a billy no mates like me, then you se no friends trails, glad you brought this up though,
Took me a while to work out how to change the car to a line, though nor sure what the line does?
Is it your last attempt as it comes and goes

Easy solution: Get ahead of your friends by messing with the gear ratios for better acceleration.

You cannot tune the cars at all in the licence tests. I am currently doing the Special Licences and have golded the first 4, the 5th race, in the Bugatti Veyron, is on a new race track which is very twisty with a great many blind corners and sharp cutbacks and gold is 2:14 secs, so it's quite a long one with plenty of opportunities to err.

Not interested in going offline, just want to complete the licences in a normal manner. The normal manner has worked for a great many years and I never ever though it was broken and needed fixing. In fact I have never ever heard anyone say that it was broken and needed fixing.

As far as I am concerned this new way stinks and spoils the game for me. Of course I don't want to go back to GT5 so will have to suffer with this stupidity, that is until it is withdrawn or at least made optional for those of us who just want their own ghost car on the track with them.

Don't sign in to PSN, then the game will not be able to get info about your friends' time and it will be just you and your ghost. ;)

Those ghost trails can be handy I believe, you can see what line people are taking to active their times. I've found that a lot of my friends have changed their driving style from GT5 and some have continued. Plus it's a great learning tool, you can study you lines and see where you need to improve.

I think you can adjust the transparency of the ghost cars -- although it doesn't solve the problem, it may help to mitigate some of the annoyance.

I usually just turn it off. If I really do need my own ghost, I'll look at my map to see if I'm making a gap or not. The yellow ghost icon doesn't remove from the map if you turn the ghost off!

I kinda wish you could even turn off the yellow ghost. I find it distracting when I"m trying to beat my own lap times. Hmm...maybe if I just turn off the map...

Personally, I hate to see my own ghost because it occasionally obscure the sight or otherwise I get nervous when I know I'm ahead of myself :) But anyway I need some reference to see how I'm doing this particular time. So I just shortly flip the ghost on and then immediately off. Mostly often after I've finished a turn or a series of. Something to try?

Why is the yellow ghost a distracting you should always concentrate on the road.

If you're struggling with the requirement for the final "S" test, prior to the 1.02 patch the time was 2:18:00.

For the life of me I could not get either S-4 or S-5 (to the point of S-4 where I was missing it by .005!), and that trophy along with the one for going 7,900 miles were the only ones I was missing, I was able to get all with the pre-patch times. Apparently PD was concerned about how easy people were getting that trophy so they toughened the requirements. That's fine as I'll never claim to be a great GT player, but I can only imagine how frustrating it is for 98% of players trying to meet that more stringent cutoff, ESPECIALLY with S-5 being 4 seconds shorter.

What? It used to be 2:18? Ha ha, brilliant, so all the best players who can race through these licences got the easy version while the great unwashed get the difficult one. Good plan.............NOT!
Anyway I'll have another crack at it today. Have never completed a single lap yet.

Update; Have completed my first lap...2:14.035, bugga.

Thought I had managed to get rid of the ghost trails for much of it as there were none there. But, ha ha, it turns out I was in front of them at those times.
Two in particular, Nowcontrol and akz24 are both in the 2:12 range.

Update/2. GOLD! .........2:12.924...:)
