Again I have fallen victim to office thieves!

This time it was my trash can! At first you think you can live without a desk trash can, but no! All day long, I go to throw things away, and alis, no trash can! Now I have trash all over my desk, because I am either to lazy to throw it away somewhere else, or just to busy to get up everytime I want too.

This hasn't been the first thing stolen though. I have had food, sodas, taken out of the fridge. I have had a personal CD player gangt and there is no counting the pens and pencils! (Not all events happened at the same location)

If you work in a office, be kind to your cube farm neighbors. Make the company buy you a new trash can, don't steal it from the intern.

*TUT* *TUT* ..............'sighs'........people these days, scum of the earth they are...

I feel for your trash can-less self, but was it really worth a thread?

We opened our new service building at the beginning of this year. We were missing quite a bit of items you wouldn't think twice about, including the trash cans. Of course, someone got the brilliant idea to throw out all the old office equipment the night before.

So here we are in this new multi-million dollar facility, and all 50 or so of us are tossing all of our paper, styrofoam cups, and garbage into a single foot-high cannister. A couple of us were getting rather annoyed at walking 100 feet to the One Trash Can, so we fished out our old trash cans from...you guessed it...the dumpster.

On the other hand, commodities like staplers, staples, pens (good luck getting those!), and common colors of touch-up paint (silver, crystal white, black) always disappear from even the most hidden of places on your day off. You'd think painting your name on a stapler would help, but it doesn't.

Basically, you have to arrive 10 minutes early to work after a day off to catch up with the whereabouts of your personal office equipment.

People steal my stuff all the time at work, but since it's GM I can just go to the supply room and get whatever I need. Still it pisses me off though and I know it's no one in my office since there are like 6 of us, but I'm almost sure it's the UAW guys out on the floor. They aren't allowed in our supplies so they steal from the desk jockeys.

This has just reminded me to run out to the back alley and get the recycling bin, which has been stolen every week for the last three.
It's fine. :)
Fortunatly, we never had any sort of problems like this in the office I worked in. We were tucked away at the far corner of campus though, so there wasn't much chance of interdepartmental pilfering.

I think it is pretty common to lose pencils, pens, staplers, and tape dispensers. It seems to be pretty easy to lose those, or have them stolen from you.

Almost every day, I lose a pen at school. I don't think there's some mysterious character following me around, stealing my writing utensils, though - I've lost just about everything I own at least once. After a while, you just get really good at finding stuff..

Bring eggs to work and when all is quiet toss one like a grenade and go back to work like nothing is going on .

I run the presses at the family print shop. My dad comes in with some dockets, looks at the ink shelves and leaves the docket there. He showed me a job the other day and rather than putting the docket in my inbox, he left it and the special stock for it just laying by the cutter.

In 3 days, I have lost a pair of pliers, a wrench, 2 knives, a tape dispenser, a tape gun, one of the bolts that holds the T-Head for the press in place. It's strange how these things went missing... the only thing they could possibly need are the knives and the tape dispensers but we've got several extras.

Weirder still, things have mysteriously disappeared from my Inbox. Not that I mind of course since it means less work for me :p

And make sure you're not caught on security camera!

I used to lose pens everyday at my old position, but not anymore. I've been lucky. Nothing gets stolen at my work............ except pens.
