Thought about late game A-Spec XP grinding

I posted this on Gamefaqs aswell. Edit - I meant to put A-Spec in the title the first time :)

In theory, when you get to level 32 or so (whichever level has Tsukuba 9hr in), you can still grind for XP the same way as you do on B-Spec. All you'd have to do is 1 lap of a timed endurance (Tsukuba, Le Mans) at the very end of the race and the race will end. You won't get much money because you finished last but, in the case of Le Mans, you will still get 4,593,700 XP per race. So you could still grind the 24hr races for XP without actually racing for the whole 24 hours because whether you run 1 lap or 360 laps, the game gives the same XP

It's just a thought, something I haven't seen discussed anywhere.

Thanks for the tip, I just got level 25 B-Spec and I never leveled my drives except one and so I have my other 5 drives just running this race until 26 to get their levels in the 20 fast. I would like to do the same for A-Spec as running the same track for 500 hours isn't very fun to do for the next race.

Only to those with a time limit. Roadster 4hr, Tsukuba 9hr and 24hr of Le Mans. I don't know if it works cos i'm only level 27, it's just an idea

I think that this would work. Interesting idea ajbownes.

This idea would work in any race, but would be especially effective in the timed endurance races.

Just to test this, I took a car to the Beginner Series and drove the Autumn Mini Ring and won ($5,000 credits and 240 XP points).

I then re-entered the race and drove at the back so I came in last, and received $2,760 credits and 223 XP points.

So while the credits were only half, the XP points were almost the same.

So I would think that if you were just interested in XP points, running a timed endurance race and finishing only a lap or two would be quite rewarding for XP points. I'm not sure that I will use this method since I do enjoy the endurance races, but maybe after another 15 times grinding INDY:yuck: I may have to give it a try!

Thanks sail. :) And thanks for testing the idea. I've got someone on another board saying that they lost nearly 500,000XP from B-Spec Tsukuba because they finished last but you've checked it and you only lost about 8% of the XP.

It isn't an idea I'm going to use myself (well, maybe once or twice at most) but it would be good for people at 38/39 to get to Nurburgring and finish the game for themselves

Another test:

I took a Honda NSX to the Clubman Cup - Amateur Series, Cape Ring Periphery track, and ran the 3 laps for a win: $6,670 credits and 623 XP points.

I then re-ran the race and came in last and received $2,960 credits and 522 XP points (a 16% reduction in the XP points).

So there seems to be some variation in the loss of XP points between the races. However, this might be due to the number of other drivers in the race because in the Sunday Cup Race there were 8 cars and in the Clubman Cup Race there were 12 cars. So perhaps finishing 8th looses 8% or so, but finishing 12th loses 16%.

Another test:

I took a VW Lupo GTI Cup Car to the Lupo Cup - Professional Series, Nurburgring track and ran the 1 lap for a win: $25,100 credits and 1975 XP points. This race also has 12 cars in it.

I then re-ran the race and came in last and received $11,100 credits and 1613 XP points (a 18% reduction in the XP points).

Another test:

I took a Ford GT '05 to the Polyphony Digital Cup - Expert Series, Madrid Mini track and ran the 5 laps for a win: $52,700 credits and 2434 XP points. This race also has 12 cars in it.

I then re-ran the race and came in last and received $23,400 credits and 1984 XP points (a 18% reduction in the XP points).

So the XP points awarded in each race do exhibit a small variation in the percentage reduction for a last place finish.

I'm trying this out on the 4 hour Nurburgring right now. Will let you know what happens in 4 hours lol.

I tried it on the 4h nurburgring and I did 1 lap and all I got was 7462 experience. Not worth it

im prety sure the xp u recieve is based on ur final finishing position for the race and maybe how far behind u r or ahead u r

It has been discussed in another thread last week : it doesn't work, since xp is based on the distance. I tested on Tsukuba 4H a few days ago, earned 2800xp...
