I would not complain to have some historical cars from NASCAR like those from 70's, 80's and earluy 90's.

Like the F1 cars were in GT3

Again, I just cannot understand this idea of LESS cars!! If you don't like nascar, don't race them! As for me, I loathe nascar, but would still love to see the inclusion of as many diffrent kinds of cars as PD will give us. It can only add to the depth people......

As I said before, I'm a NASCAR fan, but I don't care whether or not they include these types of cars or not.
Majin has a great point about not racing cars you don't like. I completely agree. I personally do not like the Fiat, or Miatas. So, I only use them when they are necessary (except for the Fiat which isn't really needed.)

I'm 100% with you.

Would be great to drive a hard handling but powerfull NASCAR car against a ... let's say touring car, or against an older GT.

That's what I like in GT : you can compare cars of all types and years.

Jeez, having a few NASCAR cars in GT4 wouldn't friggin hurt anyone.

I will not get into the "Is NASCAR Good?" debate because like ALL racing, it has it's fans and it's non-fans. Some love it (ALOT here in the USA) and some hate it (ALOT of other folks). That is really irrelevant, honestly.

Lets see what it would take....

Street Version:

#1 Ford Taurus
#2 Dodge Intrepid
#3 Chevy Monte Carlo
#4 Potiac Grand Am

NASCAR Versions:

#5 Somebodies Ford Taurus
#6 Sombody Else's Dodge Intepid
#7 Some other guys Chevy Monte Calro
#8 And lastly some dude's Pontiac Grand Am

So, 8 cars, 4 of which aren't even NASCAR cars, but street versions lots of AMERICAN racer fans would like ANYWAY!

8 Cars out of OVER 500 to appeal to American car fansa and NASCAR fans is NOT alot to ask, by ANY measure. Hell, there WILL be over 20 (TWENTY!!!) versions of the Lancer, so what are a measley 8 cars for American/NASCAR folks.

And just so it's on the record, I HATE NASCAR, but would love the street Intrepid and Taurus ANYWAY! I think NASCAR needs to go back to actual "Stock" cars, so people can tell the damn difference. They also need MORE road courses and fewer ovals. Just MY opinion.

EDIT: Oh, and anyone who says the Fooking VITZ (and other 50-80 hp MONSTERs just like it) should be IN GT4, but Taurus's, Intrepids and NASCAR shouldn't is just a retard, plain and simple. While NASCAR has it's faults (and many at that), it IS racing. Driving a damn VITZ will NEVER be racing anymore than driving a GOCART is racing.

Agreed. I "cars" like the Honda Oddyssey, Toyota Vitz, Daihatsu Midget, and so on can make it into GT4 while good high performance cars like Nextel Cup cars don't, that is just plain dumb.

Also, a good gokart will complelely own a Vitz regardless of track. In fact, I'd love to see gokarts in GT4, as long as there are two or three good tracks to race them on (I'm already dreaming of a mini vs. gokart race).

Yo blackfish. Have you ever driven a real kart? If I read correctly, you think that they are just toys. Some, if not most, of todays racing stars started in karting. You can get up to 100mph on some tracks, you sit one inch of the groung and have open wheels. That,my freind, is racing.

By the way, here are some of my favorite ovals, in case they are considered:

Charlotte
Homestead
Michigan
Fontana (remember when CART raced here? CRAZY speeds!)

To be honest, I think in the commercials for GT2, I think either Fontana or Homestead was used in the commercials when they had the Viper race against a Mustang GT Race car. I want to say it was Fontana. And don't forget. Fontana will be raced by the JGTC later this year (don't know of any confirmations, though).

One recommendation: no Super Speedway endurance!

So many people with many different opinions on cars.

Where are the true automtive enthusiasts? Everyone seems to hate or not like something being in a game.

Again, this is the vision of Kazunori Yamauchi, its his game so he puts what he wants. It gets old when people make up their own definition of what Gran Turismo is.

I think they all are driving their cars instead of wasting their time on a forum where half the users can't even drive yet

theres alerady rally cars, f1 cars, touring cars, le mans cars, classic racing cars and much more. why not have thsm in the game, it would add a great element to the gameplay.:trouble:

While NASCARs are getting away from the idea of a GT car, i think it would be interesting to include one or two for comparison. It's the same thinking behind including F1 cars. Nothing to do with GT racing, but it really shows how different they are.

Of course, the NASCAR would get hosed by any real car:D

OK boys and girls(if there is any out there) a well prepard NASCAR can, and,is very competetive.I am a mild fan, don't like the new one car with a different nose thing that is going on but I will give it the respect it needs. As being the biggest form of racing in the US, I do expect to see some of them in GT4,not alot, but a few.I, myself refuse to trash any kind of motorsport. Just my opinion, but if it has a motor and races, I will give it a chance.

"NASCAR = NASCRAP?"

Tell that to Speed Channel and see what you get. They're going to kill Le Mans and Petit Le Mans with NASCAR practice and maybe a Truck race later this year. But for the most part... hell, I don't care even if PD came up with an "Italian Avantgarde" for stock cars, I'd just want to see maybe two or three of them, and don't make a big deal out of them. I don't want to see stock cars trying to challenge Le Mans race cars, I don't want to see them challenge rally cars, I don't want to see them challenge the JGTC, they should have their own exclusive series if PD wants to make something work with stock cars. But if you want a race car that is like NASCAR, only not as powerful, V8 Supercars. And I would love to challenge Ford with my Holden and Holden with my Ford. But NASCAR in a game about many cars around the world? I'm sorry, but, NASCAR is not the greatest sport in the world. In America, maybe, but not the world.

Even six shopping carts racing Laguna Seca is more fun than NASCAR. But my suggestion, NASCAR gets its own exclusive championship in maybe Amateur or Professional races, including one 1 hour or 90 minute stock car "endurance." I played Daytona USA on my PC in "Endurance" mode, it can be quite dull to endurance with them, even though the real stock cars can do the Coca Cola 600 (nearly 4 hours) without driver changes. And the ironic closer to this topic: Speed Channel did a special on Robby Gordon doing 1,100 total at Daytona and Charlotte. At Indy, it was 500 miles, but it rained at Charlotte, so how can you say Robby did 1,100 miles when the other race rained out later in the event? That's stupid. He may have a chance this year if the weather holds up in Indy and Charlotte this year.

I think it's time for all of us to agree that we dissagree. Right now I don't care what they put in, just get the thing finished!!!:banghead:

I don't mind races on oval tracks, just as long as the you don't have to drive a Vitz. Whoever thought of the Pro Vitz race at Test Course needs a solid boot to the groin.

With a steel freaking toe, Ev0. Doggone right. I mean, okay. Here's the deal. For those who don't mind oval racing, I say that... well, I used the "Italian Avantgarde" reference to show that Super Speedway and Test Course are two different races. And the "endurance" will NOT be in the "Endurance" category. Instead, it should be a seperate event as in "Like the Wind." But I agree. At least "Like the Wind" was fun because you could race your car with a high Stage 3 N/A or a Stage 4 Turbo (I sold my TS020 Road Car, and I'll need to get it back for the Polyphony Digital Cup) (kicking self). But I think it could have been maybe 10 laps. It's no fun going fast, fast, fast, then pitting. In fact, I won the race WITHOUT A SINGLE PIT STOP because I had Super Slicks on my GT-One Road Car.

Yes, doing 300 laps on a video game is very boring. Doing it in real life is a big rush. I have raced in 150 lap events and with the other cars around you, bumping, rubbing, it's so cool. Before you know it, the race is over.
So I say a couple of NASCARS would be nice but we don't need a 2hr endouro.

Yes there probably be a oval enduro but, who said it would be NASCAR based? It will be run what you brung.

Sure, why not? PD has my respect because they have so many damned cars, and dont focus on one particular country (okay, so maybe Japanese cars are abundant... It's made in Japan damnit!). If there's an engine and 4 wheels, why not put it in the game as well?

I'll admit, I really dont like nascar unless they're on the super speedways (Talledaga or something). But, if you consider the fact that they are going 190 mph, surrounded by each other, for like 200 miles, then you can respect what they do.

This reminds me of the day Motor City Online (may it rest in peace) introduced the Mitsu eclipse and the Toyota Supra. All the diehard muscle heads blew an o-ring. Me? I didnt mind. If a car is fast, if it can hug the turns or kill anything using nothing but power, than it kicks ass.

So where do I stand? If they included stock cars in GT4, I'd use em in the online mode. It'd be fun as hell :p

No, simply because there are other games dedicated to NASCAR

There are games dedicated to rallying too right?

I personally don't care for NASCARS that much but hey the more cars we can get our hands on the better:) Hmmmmmm V8s....:trouble:
