Confirmed

What you guys are describing on the CSR sounds just like mine...pre and post patch. Honestly I get better FFB fidelity from Race Pro. Probably gonna dump the Fanatec and go with a T500 with my CSP's

LOL. Flip one stick and yer a stick flipper for life. :p

sorry. couldn't smack my fingers fast enough not to post that.

Watkins Glen Short

KOQ Lobby is now open. 8 spots are available for tonight's race

Sorry to do this guys but since we cant seem to have a stable lobby, I'm suspending the series until SMS gets their act together and does something about the Multiplayer issues.

Six of us ran a race last night. I don't know if everybody was able to race in their preferred view but I was able to solve my issues after leaving and coming back a couple times. I didn't buy this game for career mode and I do not plan on letting it collect dust while I wait for another patch. I intend to begin practicing the Dubai track so if anybody cares to join me for some unofficial racing and practice throughout the next week feel free to holler at me. :)

Reposting this here to get the opinions of people I know and trust.

Let me ask the PCars masses a question.

I have played GT1, GT2, GT5 and now GT6. I have a reliable (and cheap) DFGT wheel and to be honest have never really had any major beefs about how the GT series plays.

I got a PS4 for the family for Xmas and now have all our major titles duplicated on the PS4 from the PS3. The only reason I even turn the PS3 on anymore is to run our online series once a week in GT6.

I am contemplating selling the PS3 and all games/accy to fund a new wheel and PCars purchase.

But I am mainly interested in online play with our league and every time I research Pcars I see a lot of posts regarding bugs with this or that. I want to make the switch but I don't want to play a broken game (especially in comparison to a fairly unbroken game like GT6). I plan to play PCars and get GT7 when it comes out just to have some variety and revisit the game that started it all for me.

So is this game broken or will I be a happy camper?

Thanks in advance gang.

right now, I would say wait. The online portion of pcars is broken imho. It will be interesting to see if the 2.0 patch will help but until it does, my version gets very little play right now

So given the recent update, I'd like to try and see if the online lobby issues have improved. I realize its short notice, but id like to try a mock practice race night tonight @ 9:00 pm eastern. Would be great to get 8-12 drivers as it seems the larger rooms are the issue.

please confirm if you make it tonight. Thanks

Can we just do short sprint races for practice?.. Or maybe 30 minute practices followed by a sprint race?

Oh yeah, I'm a maybe.

What's your connection like @GGGMotorsport? Historically, I could only handle about 5 drivers as a host in GT6 before things started to get sketchy. I just upgraded my internet yesterday. I was around 18 down/2.2 up. Now at 34 down/5.8 up according to ookla.

I usually dont have issues when hosting in GT6

So did the new patch fix PCars for you guys?

Not sure yet, I don't think he's had enough people in a room at once to see if some of those bugs are worked out. Still, this game has a lot of issues. The more I play, the more i find. Some of them are minor, but some of them are are major oversights. Not to steal GGG's thunder, but I'm working on something for myself and those that enjoy karts and I've found out the game will not allow one to add any practices or qualifying to any event at a kart track. Jeez...

Well poopy schmoopy. I am looking for a reason to ditch the PS3 but it looks like GT6 offers the most stable, error free racing still.

Yeah, it's pretty disappointing. I love the gameplay so much more than GT6, but there's a lot of holes.

As mentioned last week, I want to try and see if the lobbies have improved so we can start racing again on Tuesday nights. To that end, I will be hosting a race night this coming Tuesday (7/14/15) @ 9:00 and would be great to have as many of you there as possible as it seems the issue were around the larger rooms so if you can make it (even if just for a portion of the night) that would really help with the testing.

Additionally, Im going to simplify the series with the following changes.
  • 4 week season
  • Two - 30-40 min races (with separate qualifying sessions)
  • Each week will be at two locations (different tracks each season)
  • Some will be day races, some will be night races)
  • KOQ process will remain the same for the most part.
  • Season 1 will be using a GT3 car (still looking to see how the BoP) is for these.
Based on all that, bring out your favorite GT3 car and lets run some short races (5/7 laps) this week at the following tracks.
  • Race 1 - Watkins Glen-GP
  • Race 2 - Sonoma Raceway-GP
  • Race 1 - Silverstone-GP
  • Race 2 - Brands Hatch-GP
  • Race 1 - Brno Circuit
  • Race 2 - Monza-GP
  • Race 1 - Sakitto-GP
  • Race 2 - Road America
Again, I really hope you can be there this coming Tuesday. If all goes well, we can restart the series next week. Please confirm below if you plan to attend the test session this week (7/14/15) and what car you think you will drive.

Confirmed drivers for this weeks session (no KOQ this week, first 16 drivers to confirm)
  • Grim - Audi R8 LMS Ultra
  • austindecker - Ruf RGT-8 GT3
