Three Hundred Miles Per Hour

I have just recently tried with my pescalaro C60 Judd and it hit 275 without nos
I had a big problem though; in the turns the cars was not stable. When I turn the cars it would just start to weave after I was done turning. I spent about an hour to see what the problem was. After check and re-checking the down force, ride-height, damper bounds and rebounds and everything in between I was about ready to throw my ps2 out the friggin window.

No worries about the 787B Toronado, and nice speed with it anyway!

I'd be more impressed if someone manged to get a tuned street legal (or non-race car) Skyline up into the 300's. I'm only 30 away from it in my '99 GTR V-SPEC. And I don't feel that the car has reached its limit yet.

And I can get close with a used one w/ 20,000 miles on it, I'm sure that a new one will be able to push over the 300 barrier. (*crossing fingers)
We're working on it!

Damn, I just feel like we are running out of cars to go fast, or for that mater, 300mph
any ideas on how to shake things up a bit?
Never! There's always more 300mph cars around... Usually different versions of the current 300mph cars for when we're getting stuck... I can think of a few nobody's tried.

well.. try some american car. and get something soft you can kick, hit, throw, smash and mutilate without feeling guilt. ( like pillows, cushions, cardboardboxes, little brothers and sisters..)
 Nice comment!

I know the feeling. My R8 used to do that, and I think it's too little rear downforce, because the back is kicking out slightly because there's not enough to hold it down. I haven't got much experience with that car, but try to sort it with downforce, or failing that use R5s. I could say ballast, but that really would not help if you did get through the corner.

Add downforce, and always drive lmp:s and group C cars, well all racecars that pack downforce mainly, at the inside of the turn. You have more grip there somehow. GT4 does not portray centrifugal forces correctly, and you can take advantage on that. Cars without downforce seem to need the bankning though.

Cough Cough Lotus Esprit Cough Cough
But really, other than that, I have found no road car egitimately better on banking than on the flat (the 3000GT in particular kills that theory).

try the Zonda C12 S 7.3, and you will see that running on the banking is a necessity...

I've intended to try the C12 7.3 for a while, but now maybe I won't  I don't like being forced wide!

speaking of wich, I might just try to see how fast I can get that thin to go( I think it has on of the biggest V-12's in the game!)
Kind of a off-the-wall random question but what is the most miles you have on one single car on GT4?

Er... If you mean from new, my Audi R8 has about 1800 miles on it, and it's in the middle of the ESES so it'll probably have in excess of 4000 by the time that ends. If you mean used, about 47,000....

From new, 25,603.8 on a Toyota 88C-V (the same one I use for top speed testing).
I also have a TVR Griffith 500 with 76,927.1 miles on it for the sake of having 76,927.1 miles on it.

I have not tried ballast yet, but I am using R4's all around
:banghead: :ouch: :banghead: :ouch: :banghead: :ouch: :ouch: It's driving me insane!
If I cant get that to work ill go ahead and try out the R8 on the testrack. The highest R8 speed at the moment is 342 by I-runner
looks like I got my work cut out for me

440+kmh 1000hp , 1400Nm SL65 AMG, anyone? (Still trying to get it to do a wheelie, bit too nose-heavy)

Or how about a 420+kmh 650hp Supra 2.5 Twin Turbo?

Next I'll try the Ford GT.

Toronado
Have fun. All three versions of the road car refuse to go 300 for me.

What's more, I suck at suspension and tranny tuning, so I dunno how fast it can really go. I'll just try and pop out the wheelie trick.

Hmmm, 300mph is 482km/h...if a 1khp (kilo horsepower :p) SL65 can't do 480 dunno how fast a GT can go...time to find out, then :)

If I may suggest the settings for the R8 found in my sig? Good for over 350 mph. Take a look and adapt them to your own settings, then claim the fastest R8 title!

Ill see what I can do
I have used your setup's in the past and they have always been a little slower for me, although I think it might have something to do with my exit speed from the corners......ill be testing 2marow!

Do you drive on the banking? If so, hug the inside of the turn instead. And also, are you using a DS2 or DFP? If you´re using a DS2, be sure to use the analog stick for steering, since the "tapping" on the cross will actually slow you down a bit.

I've been there with that, mine in fact had exactly 999bhp (I could've done an oil change, but 999bhp looks cooler :p ) but mine wouldn't go much beyond 280mph if I recall correctly. Good fun though

Doesn't it seem a bit cheap to do that? :)

Toronado
I tried the McMerc Slur. No way it's going 300.
I hadn't thought of that, and I'm glad you've said that because I really do not need to spend six hundred thousand credits on a car like that :yuck:

Nah, I´ve said before that I don´t mind if people "borrow" my settings and then claim some speed, and I stick by that. I don´t have the means to provide proof of achived speeds myself, so I provide my setting for those who can instead. :dopey:

The only one that I used was the 88-CV one and I thank you for that again
But all of the other have been me, with that being said:another personal best for me:

Eh, but it does make a nasty drag car when you got a wing and find a way to get the tires to keep from just becoming black marks on the asphault... 👍

Yeah, but that's a hell of a throttle control job :p

Well done Domantas. Yes, the Nordscheife straight is indeed longer than the test course one, and it seems logical but, at the end of it there's a chicane section, you've got a long time to get to it in the first place, it's pretty bumpy and mostly uphill, so it's out. That straight leads to many top speed disappointments when driving any car there, because most can't handle the uphill parts. Besides, a speed attained there is hard to prove. Correction, impossible to prove accurately.

Keep going opendriver, 297 has been done... It'll get there! Same goes to you Leo :p
