Hehe, that would be nice! Can it have a wing? That would ease things up a bit. And being really front heavy, all the downforce can go to the rear!

No way. There is no way it can do it. The best I ever got with it was 237-ish, with full NOS on Le Sarthe. No way it can pull 298. No downforce adjustment, and it's very shape is the opposite of aerodynamics.

I miss nothing Ghost :p but cheers. I try not to reprimand everyone! :)

I have a new, top-secret project that I'm working on at the moment... You'll know if I succeed :D

The last time you said something like that I guessed what you were going to do! But this time, im not to sure WHAT your going to do

BTW-getting AR max replay on monday
ill haave my GT1 speed of 363.06:)

So I finally decided to give this 300mph business a try. . . and . . . with my 795BHP Audi A8 I did it by .03. With only nitrous as the upgrade, I managed 300.03 MPH.

And just as I've been writing this, I accidentally deleted all the photos off of my camera, so I'll have to get them later. But they're coming!

Once I did it in the R8, I decided to get a car wash/oil change. Amazingly with barely 50 miles on the car, the oil change got the power up to 847bhp. After this I went up to 304mph.

I know it's nothing near to what other people are doing, but for a car that (initially) didn't even have 800bhp, I can be proud of myself.

Another thing. Since I don't feel like (or have the time) to read all 89 pages, is there any sort of leaderboard for non-turboed cars' top speeds?

There is a leaderboard, but not on N/A cars, but rather all cars used. Can be found in some peoples sigs, mine included.

Agreed. Half an hour of arsing around produced 254mph, I tried it yesterday. Not a chance. And no wing either.

Neither am I now, my first few tests failed so I'm going to try a different tack :)

STLbarcelona5, there isn't a leaderboard for non-turbo cars because it's very hard to prove (and the R8 is twin-turbocharged as standard, so that doesn't count anyway :p)
Try doing it the other way round, ie. with T4 but no nitrous. Easy.

Well what I REALLY meant was a leaderboard for cars that haven't been messed around with huge aftermarket turbos. But I dunno maybe we could start a leaderboard for 300mph with the LEAST power?

I know what you meant.

It just seems a little pointless really, because you know how much power you had but it requires a video to prove it to me... That's the only problem.

(Oh yeah, lsaporiti? Would you mind explaining your Cobra comment?)

Just got te AR max thingy and got a DRE everytime with it:mad::mad::mad::mad:
now I have to go back to the store, exchange it and get a new one AND THEN hope that one works.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Interesting... Maybe your PS2 hates it. I've never had a cheat disc throw up a read error on me, but I don't use them very often.

Just hope GT4 doesn't follow suit :nervous:

@appie-look in team666's sig
got myreplay off of my card,it is an .MAX file how do I convert it?
not sure which one it is, there both replays though

Appie, I've said this plenty of times before and it's making me seem a bit harsh, but I don't like people using others' setups - make your own :p 👍

Nice going Xan, post up a Session Record photo and you'll be on the 'board in the fastest C9 (Provided you were on the ground...)

Sorry Opendriver, but I can't use those files (no Maxdrive), and I don't think they can be converted... I could be wrong, but I'm not sure. Anyone know?

Sorry people i had to go for while but im back!👍
I spent a whole afternoon tunning up the cobra, its got everything you can buy. including rollcage which, i dont think makes diff in this test but i bought it anyway.
Its got 730 hp, and it reached 289 mph! i had to change a little the weight distribution.. but that only gave like 7 miles more..
This car also has the "normal car" record on the 1/4 mille! 9:461!
This is the best car ever!

PS: i cant go over 300mph on te 300ZX.. maybe its because i found one with 3 laps to the world on it, ill keep searching for that.
Also, cant break that speed record!! its imposible!
Ill try with the Auto Union.. ive never drove it before but its gotta be fast!

Although I must admit i did "cheat" with the R92CP and wheelie-ing, I can honestly say that my C9 does not leave the ground. I will bring in a photo ASAP! Thank you for the patience...
I am not exactly sure how to bring my replay to the comp, but at 346, i dont need it do i? One ofthe rules on the first post is that videos are needed for 350+mph, yes? I dont believe i have the right equipment to even load my replay on, but... Any suggestions for proof are appreciated. I will bring any and all of it to the table if i can ^_^

That was a mistake. Unless this car is a really rare breed, no rollcage for speed testing. The rest of your post was interesting... If you want to PM me the settings, I would love to try it out :)

The Auto Union Type C Streamline, or the 'Old School Audi' as I call it, seems to be averse to speed in any shape or form... Which, given it's speed-based shape and form is surprising! Not a 300mph candidate in my opinion, which is a shame.

Xan, that's correct - a video isn't required for a speed below 350mph, unless it's requested specifically, usually due to the car in question. The C9 seems perfectly capable, though, so a photo of the Session Records screen is fine 👍

When we do need to post a replay, we don't use Maxdrives, we either use a TV capture card or simply use a camcorder to record the replay from the TV. Not very official, but it works :)

That's why Toronado's old signature made me laugh... I think he knows the one

I send my PS to get it fixed. ill have it again on friday, ill send you the set up then.

And yes, i tried the "Old School Audi" and it sucked. only 278mph, doesnt even has N20!!!

Hey guys..

Im just posting here to report that I achived 505.53km/h (315.95625mph) on my Minolta Toyota 88C-V Race car, today at 8:01pm here. I will attach a photo soon, but when I tried to take the photo my camera's battery was dead!! :banghead: :grumpy: both of them!!!! So now do I have to run it all over again, or can I take a photo of my rankings to prove it? I broke it in several occasions, 505.53km/h was the fastest speed I've ever achieved. Other speeds included:
- 503.96km/h
- 499.23km/h
- 500.52km/h
and I deleted them all because the above speed was the fastest. If the moderator needs further evidence, I'll provide settings and you can prove it. Thanks :)

Ill post the photo tomorrow if possible. I have to load images from ImageShack right?

Nice going GT4_Rule. I do prefer photos of the Session Record screen, but in that car it shouldn't be too hard to do it again :)

For 315mph, a photo is absolutely fine, but if you wouldn't mind too much, could you set the speed units to MPH (via the options screen), to make things easier? We only use MPH here, and although we can always convert the speeds from clicks to miles, we don't know what conversion GT4 itself uses, so you might gain a tiny bit of speed through the conversion :p
See what I mean? Just change it to MPH for the run, and it'll be fine 👍

lsaporiti, don't hold a car in comtempt because it doesn't have nitrous - I for one prefer it when it doesn't! The Jaguar XJR-9 does it without N2O and 5 gears, the Chaparral 2D shatters the 300mph mark without N2O and 3 gears, which blew away a few prejudices

My most recent project was a not-very-heroic failure. So I've got a new one now :sly: news coming soon!

Okie dokie! Thanx ^_^; I (laugh if you wish) seem to even have complications when it comes to getting a screen capture on thanx to my "hand-me-down" samsung digicam... evil samsung has to have all of its own connections for everything... phones cameras... ugh...
As for my delays between each post, I do believe i failed to inform anyone:
I do not have an internet connection at my house, and I can only hang out here in the forums at school, thus adding to the complications... However, I will bring a picture proof as soon as I can..
Thanks for the help, DE ^_^

BTW, what is the fastest C9 so far? 300.6?

I've been trying to get the McLaren on the 300+ board...not there yet 288.98 so far, and I'm by no means a pro at this yet, so I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with the car in terms of this challenge?

Thanks

That cars was a little harder than osme of the other ones due to its power band. Its kind of like the escudo's-nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing POWER
