Did some searching with not much luck.

For me this setup looks like it would be perfect.

Wireless and small enough to fold away cleanly. No ffb is a downside but I have to share my ps3 room with my 2 year old. So cords everywhere is not gunna happen. Plus this thing will adjust easily for my 8 year old to jump right in.

Anyone here have any real experience with this? I'm not a hardcore racer or sim guy. Just a dad trying to squeeze some laps in here and there.

Thanks fellas.

Justin

Not sure if there is any wireless wheel for PS3 or PC but you can get some for XBOX: Fanatec CSR, CSR Elite, Microsoft XBOX360 Wireless Speed wheel.

he asked for ps3, so not sure why you talk about xbox???

i havent tried the the F430 cockpit; however i am sure that there is still a power supply cable. - bit skeptcial on how long you can run it on batteries. also not sure which games actually support this wheel

it seems they go for under £200 in the UK . for a similar amount, i think you are better off with a logitech dfgt and something like a wheelstand http://www.wheelstandpro.com/products/stand-for-logitech-wheels-and-thrustmaster-ferrari-f430 which you can fold away and store out of reach of the kids

you have to ask yourself, do cables make that much of a difference? i am sure the dfgt w/ffb and full support will make more of a difference to your enjoyment, regardless wether you are a hardcore or casual GT5 player ;)

if you really want wireless, the discontinued fanatec PTWS can do that with a usb dongle on PS3 (you still have a power supply to plug in), but is more expensive option, and it may be difficult to source a new one. that said maybe you could find a second hand one

good luck

I thought that I read somewhere that the functionality of the f430 wheel was no more in GT5 after one of the older updates. I do not know if it was ever fixed but it is something to consider when buying a wheel.

Now that update was only for the force feedback version.

Te version im interested in is non ffb. Although its possible it's a general thrustmaster issue.

Just really dont want cords or any other crap.

Although te dfgt with a wheel stand pro is looking more and more awesome.

Justin.

for sure. you won't regret it and it will completely change GT5 for you, you will be left wondering how you played with a pad before. only problem, is then you may get too much of liking for it and want to spend more on an even better wheel and full sized cockpit. it's a slippery slope ;)

good luck and enjoy

Just wish there was a wireless alternative that still gave good performance.

Oh well. The search continues.
