Hi all

Now that Project cars is out I am thinking of getting a PS4 and a wheel. However I want this wheel to also be compatible with GT6, and GT7 (when it comes out). Since PCars does't support the G27 (my initial choice) on PS4 that wheel is ruled out. I like the sound of the T500 and it gets food reviews, however it is expensive while the GT2 is cheaper. Unfortunately Fanatic have not been supported by GT yet so I don't know if they will be in GT7. As such I would like you guys advice on which to go with. And yes I know the GT2 requires separate pedals and i have factored that into the price.

Also how do they go mounting to the next level racing wheel stand from Pagnian? As their list of supported Fanatic wheels is somewhat dubious.

Thanks

The T500 is NOT a PS4 wheel, it was released in 2010... but so far has worked on all PS4 racing games. The T300 IS a PS4 wheel, and similarly, works on all PS4 racing games. If I was spending MY money and betting on future compatibility? I'd go with the newer wheel built with the PS4 in mind. Plus, you can get T500 pedals if you really want them, either used or as the T3PA PRO.

As a T500 owner the ongoing support makes me happy of course, but really I am waiting to see what GT7 looks like before I decide to pull the trigger on PS4.

T3pa Pro pedals are vaporware. You won't be able to find them until late summer / fall. You can quote me on that. They never even shipped the first batch to amazon. I know because I was one of the first pre-orders. I wouldn't reccomend the t500rs either, as I have one currently. They fade alot quicker than a T300rs, and the FFB isn't that much stronger...we;;, it IS, but it'll last for a bout a month, then you'll start noticing fade after 20-40 minutes of driving.

Fanatec? Don't even get me started. I'm sitting on a brand new csr elite inverted pedal set with a huge problem. The brake spongey load cell padding catches on the cylinder wall of the load cell housing, which makes braking unreliable and just complete ****. I was weary when I bought from them, because I've read all the horror stories, but I had no choice, because they were the only ones in stock, and my replacement springs for my T500 pedals weren't going to be shipped for a month. (I have the t500 pedals back up and running better than ever now, but still, I have these fanatexc pedals, and fanatec customer service just doesnt give two ***** to reply. it has been a week).
absolutely terrible as a company. Go ask Darin Gangi over at ISRTV.com. He used to work for them, and knows how they operate.

Sorry to ramble. Just stay away from fanatec.
If you get a t500 cheap, go for it. Otherwise you'll have more luck with t300rs if you take good care of it.

Just to add that the modern T500RS (GT6 box) has completely revised fan and changed airflow vents (side to side instead of vertical) from the early models. Yes, there's still fade, but the cooling did get some improvement.

In principle the brushless motor in the T300 heats up much less than the big chunky T500 brushed motor, so you can expect less fade, but don't forget it only has around 75% of the motor power from cold.

I did, but only to note that in your overzealousness to use a kool kid catchphrase, you've put forward a self-defeating argument. Simply - if they will be available "late summer / fall", they are not "vaporware".

To the OP - I don't see any reason to go for a GT2 over a T500 or T300. That said, if you are still considering any Fanatec wheel for PCARS on PS4, you may want to wait and make sure that the game is patched well enough.
