Just letting y'all know, my T598 died, I bought a Logitech G923 and quickly equalled, If not overtook my T598 pace.
Thanks!

That's the pace.

How's the feeling?

Had a cheap Logitech years ago for a summer and I'm contemplating getting a wheel again. The typical entry DDs like Fanatec DD Pro, Thrustmaster 598 and Logitech RS50...

I heard some really positive reviews for the Logitech RS50, they say it can consistently output 8Nm of torque power, wheras the Fanatec DD Pro only baselines at 6Nm, with peak being 8Nm.

The quality of the wheel makes zero immediate difference to the pace in most cases. Back when I went from a 15-year-old G25 that had gone through GT4-HD-5P-5-6-Sport to a brand new T-GT II the difference on a Nordschleife lap was one tenth of a second.

The difference between the G923 and just about everything else is that no other wheel sounds (and feels) like there's someone inside drilling the steering shaft with a pneumatic hammer when the going gets rough on high FFB levels, a side effect of the helical gears moving the motor shaft longitudinally. It doesn't harm the wheel at all but I wouldn't be able to stand listening to it - before I got the aforementioned T-GT I actually bought, and returned, three G923s within a month as they all made the same noise that I only later found out to be normal for the model instead of a massive mechanical problem.

FYI: There's a recently released Playseat Challenge DD - F1 Edition, which looks to be quite an improvement over my Playseat Challenge + added reinforcements when coupled with a DD wheel (I've got the RS50 system). Better stability+rigidity while keeping the same foldability (or slightly better).
It's twice the price of the Challenge X here in Australia - if were $100-200 more then I would have held off and considered it for later, but $800 is too much for me.

I'm aiming to get the RS50 later in the year - in fact I might hold off on the RS pedals and get them together so I don't have to waste AU$80 on the racing adapter. There's very strong rumours of a proper H-gate gearbox coming very soon too!
