I was pulled over for the first time tonight, by a park ranger. He claimed I was doing "15-20" in a 10 mph zone in a local park. Just a warning, thankfully. Honestly, though, I think him and his partner just wanted to look over my car. They walked all around it, looking at it with their flashlights longer than they did talking to me!

Park rangers have no authority in that situation - he'd have to call out an actual police officer if he wanted a citation issued, and if you contested it in court, it'd be more than easy to win.

What kind of car do you have?

He drives a bright red police-attention-getter. Honestly.

They were problably attracted to your HotRod. Nice ride, by the way. :)

PS. Nice Backround

Boy, you can say that again. Either I've become a lot more paranoid about spotting police, or else they've more than doubled the number of troopers since I got my car. :scared:

A friend of mine had a bright yellow '82 Corvette for a few years and he often took it on roadtrips to his home in Iowa. He used to say when he was going over the limit in a whole pack of cars, the cops would pick him out and ticket him. I guess sometimes it pays to go for silver.

There was an article in the L.A. Time about that some time ago... about how most people who drive fast choose silver cars, so that they're less noticeable to the police.

Eh, if I get a car, I'd still probably get yellow, since we all know yellow adds horsepower!

I've had my share of really fast hot rods..... and my share of flshing lights in the rear view mirror.

I have to say that if your car stands out in any way..... you are a target. You see.... If your car stands out, and you drive it the way it was built to be driven, then you get noticed more than the guy in the "Gun Metal Grey AMG" that just blew your doors off all the while you where getting pulled over.

As one who has recieved tickets and now as one who writes them, take my advice.

My first real car, was a 73 SD Trans Am, Built for speed. It looked like it was doing 150 in the parking lot. I got pulled over just for kicks most of the time... cause they wanted to check out my car. Seriuosly, I got hassled at least once or twice a week for almost two years.

Then I bought a dark green GTA Trans Am. After I was done with it it would run circles around my 73. I got a 11.57 in the quarter. and pulled better than 1g on the skid pad.

Next I got a White Corvette, Twin turbo Callaway......
you get the picture.

Anyway.... Like I said ..... The more noticable your car is the more tickets you will get.... unless you drive the limit and obey all the traffic laws:)

Oh, but of course :trouble:.

BTW... I know have a Lingenfelter Twin Turbo Corvette, and yes.... it's Silver. It's by far the fastest thing on the road in the US and it has a 4 speed auto. I race at Pomona, and Carlsbad speedways just before I need to buy new tires.

How's 0-60 in under 2 seconds???? Bad for the tires of coarse, and not obtainable with street skins. Using MT's I have got a 9.76 in the 1/4 on 91 octain gas and completely street legal.... except for the tires.

Having my 98 Corvette converted costed almost twice what I paid for the car.

Have fun, Drive safe, Be cool....... and Keep it on the track.

Hey Cobraboy.... Ive' been down Under a bit. If your going to buy an Austrailian ford.... Go for the 70 Falcon Cobra GT with the 427. I saw one race down in Tasmania.... Very nice. I also saw some really fast Holden Utes in Townsville.

Austrailia has 3 things that I really like... Freindly women, Good Beer, and Cool cars.

GM says that they are going to bring the Holden HSV to the US as a Pontiac GTO.... only the US version will be AWD.

Well, I'm Down Under Down Under, so to speak.. ;)

My two goals in life are to own a MkIV Supra, and a 427 Shelby Cobra, whether it be an Australian kit or American kit, I will own both of them.

[Edit] I'd also like an HRT 427, I guess I have a thing about 427's :odd:

What exactly is the great fuss about the 427 i see everywhere? Is it some kind of super engine?

/me knows not much about cars.
