edit: Read the first few posts in this thread.

Now that I know, its ridiculously simple, and you can use the following 'formula' 👍

1440 (minutes in 24hrs) divided by your race length (lap time in minutes(T), times number of laps(n)) equals time progression value(tp).

1440/Tn=TP 👍

I've searched the forums in an attempt to truely understand time progression in online lobbies. However I'm no closer to knowing how to best utilise this specific feature.

I'm very interested to know just what ratio PD used for time/time progression. That way I could work out the correct time progression setting to achieve a near as dammit 24hr cycle over any number of laps.

If any of you have done extensive testing in this category I really would like to hear your results.

In the meantime I will be carrying out my own research too so i'll keep you updated.

If you would like to submit your own data, please include start time (set in lobby), time progression value, race duration, number of laps and light levels. Thank you 👍

It's quite simple actually. When the slider is set to 1, one minute in the real world equals one minute in the game world. And when it's set to 60, one minute in the real world equals 60 minutes/1 hour in the game. So a full day in the game when you've set the time progression to the max takes 24 minutes in the real world.

Exactly that!

Think of it as a ratio - "1" on the slider gives a 1:1 time ratio, "10" gives a 1:10 ratio and so on.

Since the slider goes from 1 to 60, it should be quite obvious.

For every 1 second of gameplay, X seconds of "real time" go by in game, where X is that number you set in the Ratio. So if you have it set to 60, then after 1 second, 1 "minute" will have passed. After 1 minute, 1 "hour" will have passed, such that a full day/night cycle from 12-noon to 12-noon will take 24 minutes.

No way!! Is it really that simple? Why has no one made a definitive thread about this before now!?

Thanks ever so much guys, i'll change the thread title so others may benefit 👍
