If it annoys you that much, you can disable it completely via the registry.
Google is your friendI must know how.
Who cares about the CAPS LOCK key? It's the damned INSERT key that needs to be removed. What sadist put that there?
My keyboard also has PAUSE/BREAK, HOME and END keys. I have never used them. And I've got a key to the left of the numbers and above TAB that can produce the following characters: `, ¬ and ¦. What the hell is that for?
KM.

I thought the pipe symbol was the one down near the left shift key, beside Z?Don't you DARE diss the Pipe sign - On a Linux box, with "grep", it's more useful than Windows' Process Manager and Service Manager put together !...
Besides, everyone knows that the ancient Egyptians would not of had such a colourful and descriptive pictorial language if it wasn't for the Caps Lock key.
That sounds like my logic when it comes to thongs and speedo's.Just because you CAN..., doesn't mean you HAVE to.
Erm, no..."Insert" is good for adding stuff into sentences without overwriting it.
Can I please have the last five minutes back?
This is such a non-issue, and helps to expose blogs for the hideous waste of time that they are (I'm in the process of decommissioning mine, but I don't really have time). Just because you CAN speak, doesn't mean you HAVE to.
Caps lock key is pretty useful for flaming people while playing Halo...
But seriously though, I have never used Scroll Lock, Pause/Break, End, Home, Pgdown/Pgup key ever in my life. What do those keys do anyway?
WikipediaA special BIOS routine — software interrupt hexadecimal 15, subfunction hexadecimal 85 — was added to signal the OS when SysReq was pushed or released. Unlike most keys, when it is pressed nothing is stored in the keyboard buffer.
A special key was needed because most software of the day operated at a low-level, often bypassing the OS entirely, and typically made use of many hotkey combinations. The use of TSR programs further complicated matters. To implement a task switching or multitasking environment, it was thought that a special, separate key was needed. This is similar to the way "Ctrl + Alt + Del" is used under Windows NT.
My SysRq and my PrtScn are the same key anyway.
They need to trash SysRq and just make it the Print Screen button.
