I managed a 1:33 with a bit of camber, full downforce and some added stiffness.

I know I can get at least 3 more seconds just by practice and fixing my sloppy driving but I would like to hear what other faster drivers have been using for their setup.

I got a 1:33 too. Not a good lap though. That car with all that power and crummy sports tires is hard to keep in control. My lap sucks because I'm sliding out of control most of the time. I've tried 4 different set-ups I found posted, none of them seem to improve the car very much. I do about as good with the default setting.

Anyone else feel like this car blows without softer tires? :p
My hat (if I was wearing one) is off to Mr. 1:28. Amazing time :D

I don't think you can get the online ghost and read the setting from it, just the driving options.

Oops, REPLAY not reply.

I watched one that I downloaded and I noticed before the replay began there were a bunch of stats about the car. I didn't look close enough to see if it was everything. Maybe it was only horsepower, weight, tires and whatnot, I'll look again.

Hi, just a question, what are your limits in weight and power? here in Spain the limitations for the car in this seasonal event are min 1400 kg and max 500 cv (510 bhp), and i've seen a video on youtube of a camaro that has 1173 kg and 527 bhp...

That's wierd. It's 493hp and 1400kg here. No wonder I can't keep up!

First tune your suspension best you can get it on stock power and slowly upgrade power and perfect handling as you go. Then, most people use the dirty oil trick, let it get old... then you can add more parts that put you up to HP limit but the car will have more torque and higher peak RPM outputs.

I am mistified with the Camaro and how it won't get out of it's own way. My fastest time is was with the MOPAR and I'm 6 sec's out w/ a 134. I have never been 6 sec's out on any game I have ever run. I totaly know Laguna and something is up, I can't figure it out. I have tried everything and nothing I do will make that pile wake up. It won't bite down and it's like I'm driving an old jalopy and not a Z.

Those guyz are getting those Camaros to rev to the sky and they accelerate like a rocket, whats w/ that? Has anyone figured out how to adjust the improved ECU that says it's Tuneable? Maybe they figured out how.

Watch out for the dirty oil trick because if you change it you will gain about 25 hp w/ the v8 and 15 w/ a 6.

Wish I could run my Camaro Z/28 RM '69 tune in this, I can 1:22.5" on Laguna Seca with the RM version. :(

You can hit exactly 493hp and 1400kg with the right upgrades. I'll post what you need to do when I get back from work. I managed a 1:31.3XX with my setup still way off the pace mind you. I'll post my setup here too. Hopefully we can work out a better setup. There's deffo something I'm missing looking at how the top guys are driving the track.

You need to buy Stage 1 first, then Stage 2 and if you have stage 2 installed (which requires stage 1) you can install Stage 3.

Each stage is a prerequisite for the next stage up, same with weight reduction. Turbo however you can pick and choose.

Here's how I got 493hp: oil change, engine tuning stage 3, sports intake manifold, sports air filter, sports exhaust manifold, ti racing exhaust, supercharger.

might as well post my set up. might not want to use it as it seems pretty slow compared to everyone else's

max speed: 147
lsd: 12, 45, 22
ride height: -12, -10
spring rate: 7.3, 6.2
dampers rebound: 4, 1
dampers compression: 1, 4
anti roll bars: 1, 7
camber: 1.5, 0.8
toe: 0, 0.20

gunna give LennoX's setup a go tonight, since he's done so well with it.

@deano5665. you have to purchase engine tuning in order. stage 1, then stage 2 and finally stage 3.

I ve got 1 & 2 installed there is only 3 left but it wont let me have it, says must be purchased in specific order. Im stumped here

Just a quick one, but I always ran with auto trans, (didn't think my brain was quick enough for manual) I must have done 100+ laps with all sorts of tuning, the best I got was a 1:33.5 I then changed to manual, which I've never really tried before and after 5 laps with a very scruffy lap got a 1:33.1. I think I may be converted to manual now, will just have to practice practice practice. I'm now looking forward to learning a new thing and trying to up some of my license and special event trophies.

I know this won't be news for the hardcore fans, but it was a big surprise what a difference it made

@Bobzki

I made the switch to manual transmission last week. I was quite surprised that it didn't take me very long to get the hang of it and also the difference it makes to your times. Plus it's much more fun to drive.

I'm still off the pace mind you. Tried LennoX's setup last night, didn't suit me right away but with some tweaks managed to knock about a 10th off me best time.

Still way off the mark it seems. I guess I need to get better. Too much Dirt 2 last year I think. lol

Yeah absolutely, I'm lovin' it :), It makes the whole thing more immersive. I now feel like I'm actually in control, It felt muted before. It is going to take some getting used to though, I'm probably just a lazy gamer at heart. I either seem to do a fairly impressive lap(for me) or absolutely terrible.

Im still currious how you download a set up from the leaders if its possible I can find their info pages and general set up but no suspension details?
Also tried LennoX's last night was definatley not working for me!

I think my biggest problem is still using the controler need to build a cockpit in the living room and convert it to a race room think the wife would mind?

Also have come to the realization to be happy if I can break into the top 10,000 I have no idea how to shave another 8 sec. off my time, breaking into the 1:36 last night was good but I know I am leaving seconds in every corner constantly passing the ghost only to blow it somewhere later on.

@vmaxty

You can't grab their setup from the replay but you can tell what aids and controller they're using. IIRC the top guy was using a DS3 and active steering (don't quote me on that) so you should be able to get a good time with a controller.

Download one of the top replay and view it through the replay theatre. That will give you a good idea on how to drive the track and get those lap times down.

how do the prizes work for these? or are there any? I've never paid them too much attention before now but I love Laguna and I have an untouched 69 camaro so I'm trying to decide if it's worth serious time and credit investment

Dave I have found the replay theater and have been getting beat bad on the corners I can constantly get 1/2 - 3/4 a lap awsome and leaving my own ghost in the dust then flub a corner or miss the apex and end up in the dirt, I wont even give up if I over shot turn 1 and my best time I was far in the dirt and made alot of time back up and currently is my best time go figure.
It is just as I thought about leaders setups I see what they are using but not a setup thanks Tyler
