I'm around 1:32.3 myself, haven't even tried to tune it further. I haven't checked which engine tune makes it go faster either. I just ran closest to 197hp without having to use the engine restriction. Maybe I should put a turbo on it then run the restrictions?
Impressive... you use wheel and manual then I assume? I'm trying to compete with DS3 (I see 4th place was done with pad so it must be possible) but almost always top ranks are wheel drivers. Best I ran so far was low 1:33's" and that was with maxed out upgrades (w/ supercharger) on limiter.
I downloaded the the ghost replay from the current first place driver and viewed it in the data logger. Appears this particular person has geared first, second, and third gears to under 60mph and then used fourth, fifth, and sixth gears in longer ratios and did most of his driving primarily on manual shifting in those ranges. This was only interesting to me because I knew about the buggy transmission settings already, but I had primarily attempted to stretch the first, second, and sometimes third gears into really long ratios.
Anyways, I wouldn't be surprised if his car wasn't maxed out on upgrades, run by Bob to maximize the
dirty oil factor, then slapped with the limiter; bringing the maximum length of the limiter plateau down as far as possible in the RPM range adds additional benefits. If nothing more, time trials at the moment are just a way for PD to analyze how flawed their game is and do not actually serve as competitive or
fair events as for the majority of drivers would be concerned.
