1. No assists
2. No TC (most of the time)
At your level I would turn on TC for this event. I run TC2 and weak steer correction, I know ultimately no TC is faster but I hate walking on egg shells. This explains why you are so reluctant to get on the throttle exiting Degner 2. Now don't abuse TC, still try to be smooth but you're very tentative. I reakon 5 laps with TC2 you get a sub 38 because AT is tough without TC, MT users are spamming gears to get good rotation and exits, AT has you in 1st exiting the hairpin which is pain without TC.

Not scheduled session tonight. I'm glad i had it, as I secured the gold in Sardegna.
I think steer a bit more did the job. This car seems understeery under brakes, but no more on gentle acceleration

I honestly couldn't resist, I have a benneton splatter colour livery on the SF car and in VR it's quite a sensation (other VR users in formula cars do you find yourself leaning out of the play area cage? Just me? 🤣)

I won't gold it, but silver is fine for this one.
Yes. No. Silly thing. Leaning like I'm riding my bike or, attempting to counter g-forces that ain't there, when I ran this combo in the GTWS Saturday. Very distracting. Will see how I get on when I run my .5 - 1hr tomorrow.

1st proper session tonight at Suzuka and pleasantly surprised to be mere tenths off Gold, I expected a lot worse, although that Gold time will no doubt drop. I'll hopefully get another chance to have a go at the weekend

Thank you very much for saying this. I do not know of you, guys, are aware that GT7 and this community is inseparable. I always want to be grateful to many of you and want to highlight specific names, but am always afraid that I will miss someone.

I am 100% certain that it would be virtually impossible to me to progress and enjoy this game as much as I do if not the mature, grounded and very specific replies from you.

What I also realize is that this place has many intelligent, mature and skilled people. This is not very common.
You listen to advice and care very much to improve within your skillset... And you add difficulty as you progress. You have done your part for sure. This place will make an alien out of most anyone willing to put the work in. Cheers, dude.

Z4 felt pretty nice (albeit a bit too slow for my personal taste) on CS through this Sardegna combo... EXCEPT for sector three which is so goddamn awful it's seriously getting on my nerves, man. Even more frustrating because there is actually quite a nice flow and rhythm through S1 and 2 but then it all crumbles apart and dies.

I'm waaaaaaay past overtime given how much time I think I can offer a TT. That while I'm trying to lower time spent in general.

Yes. It’s quite annoying actually. I turn my head in to counter the steering forces ( I know I don’t have to but it’s force of nature🤪) and when you’re in the middle of a tight turn and the screen goes black and you see the cage, it’s not cool.

Yes, I guess our head is technically out the cockpit, but couldn’t they give us some leeway with formula cars?

Man, the SF at Suzuka is pretty intense! It's a car I enjoy driving a lot, and it's got a TON of grip with the RS tire, but it takes a lot of commitment to an aggressive line to maximize mph on corner exits.

Catching the flow of sector one is still pretty hit or miss for me, and keeping momentum through degner and spoon proves to be pretty tough too. One little misstep and a lap is out the window!

At a 1:36.658 for now, and can lap pretty consistent 36s, but time is getting harder to come by. I thougt that would get me a little higher than I sit on the leaderboards, but it seems like about 2000 people are more comfortable in the SF than I am! Gonna take some more work to get where I want.

GTP leaderboard is continually getting better and faster! It's crazy to see how many people here have improved. My normal place on the leaderboards keeps slipping, but I just don't have time to practice... sooo you're all more than welcome to slow it down a bit. 😂

Keep up the good work GTPeeps!

Please don't say that! I'm hoping 205 at eiger or somewhere not crazy fast stuff!!!
The short layout of Grand Valley would also be an excelent spot for the 205.
Sadly, I dont think we will have the 205 because they picked the Z4 from the last update and they wont make two TTs in a row with 2 cars recently arrived.

I reckon the 205 will arrive to TT eventually, but not tomorrow.

yes, but world rank #91 💪

Hey, guys. I did improve the lap just a bit, got to below 1.39. But this is not that great. I had better laps, but made mistakes and they got cancelled. I think I should be able to go below 1.38.5 and maybe 1.38 if I do things really perfect.

I am not targeting GOLD. I am under no illusion - I am well aware what kind of experience and skill is required to get there and it is not something you expect a „rookie” to do. I know where I am and I am not yet chasing GOLD. I want to be well within Silver and that should be my realistic target.

A bit of general info:

Dual sense edge controller, TC 2, AT.
I use the ghost.

My most comfortable sector is S1 - I am able to do it pretty good 80% of the time.

I have 3 problem areas and this is where I loose time. The challenge is, I am not able to progress and no matter how much I will practice, I will not make a big improvement because I do not know HOW to it right.

This is the lap:

Problem Area 1:
My problem starts with Degner (turn 8 and 9). Turn 8 is not the worst, but acceleration of turn 9 is where I see I start loosing to the ghost.

My main issue is the Hairpin. I just do not know where to start breaking, where to start turning and how to accelerate so that I will do it really well and will not be too late with the breaking or not too fast with the acceleration as I loose traction and have wheel spin. I think I easily loose 0.3-0.4 sec here.

Problem Area 2:
Going through Spoon. This is where things go so wrong for so many times. Another 0.3-0.4 at minimum. Where to start turning and breaking, where to look for pointers and how to do it in a smooth way so that I could carry a lot of speed and consistently. I make a lot of mistakes here. 2 out of 10 times I do it Ok, but I have no idea how to do it right.

Problem is, I have zero confidence approaching the Hairpin and Spoon. So all the good S1 time I have, I screw here.

Problem Area 3:
Casio triangle. Just no idea how to do it well. Always guessing where to break, how to break and how to carry the speed and not go off or not be too slow. Super hard!

And keep on mimd this is my best lap, which means all other laps I struggle a lot. I am able to be close to 1.39.2 multiple times.

I need to find a second and I need to be able to learn how to drive really well in the 3 areas I mentioned. Then, I will just practice a lot to make it a habit and put it all together in one lap.

Humbly accepting any practical help:-)

You look very, very clean and smooth. That can only mean you're not being aggressive enough. You seem to be laying on the throttle more now with TC but are you trusting the downforce on entry and just chucking her in?
