Oh boy I do not know where to begin with this one. Yesterday I attempted this but it wasn't clicking, I spent a good 2 hours trying to chain up a good lap but it was not happening. I did have a time but it was nothing worth sharing or even good for my standards. Then today in my second session I did a little bit better than yesterday and managed to make some progress, although yesterday I was feeling very tired so that could be a factor. Resulted with a time of 52.192 which still doesn't feel that good to me, my optimal shows a 52.0 if I can nail everything but I'm not going to go back to this one if I be honest. The car is bad, the track is bad, the combo felt miserable, I even had more fun at Tokyo than on this. Sorry to anyone who liked this one but this wasn't it for me and I doubt my time will even hold for top 100 but honestly at this point I don't care. I'm going to leave this one and focus more of my time on Gr.3 Tokyo.

Well thank you for support on my last post, but I went back to the TT after I had to buy a Porsche 911 RSR to try and tackle this TT and managed to fair much better this time, managed after 5laps of intesnse controller bashin, a decent 1:58 at Tokyo Expressway. Still gunning for that Glory Gold time, I believe it is acheiveable before London's event!

Honestly, I found the 911 to be quite disappointing here. Just no bite on the front compared to the BMW (haven’t tried anything else). Obviously everyone’s style is different though

When seeing @Tidgney TT instruction lap, what I really love how enthusiastic & positive he sounds when giving the commentary in the background. He makes the TT sound fun & easy. It would inspire any user who would be apprehensive or given up on the TT. Hats off to You @Tidgney for not only making the TT instruction vids in different modes (Wheel/Pad/VR) but even the tone used throughout makes it exciting & fun to give it a shot. :gtpflag:

That was terrible, I barely managed silver, just an awful car to drive. The GT350 was a better car but I could never gel with Laguna Seca and feel it is for Miata type cars for 500hp monsters.
I was thinking about these feelings we have with cars. For me the GT350 in Laguna Seca was horrible but I golded the 370Z just in five laps after @Tidgney tutorial but before that the 370z felt easy to drive.

For the average players like us, I think there is a combo track/car that fit with our driving skills.

How can you explain that I’ve golded these last two time trials in nearly 20 minutes but after 1 hour I cannot gold the Alpine in Cataluña or the last Vette time trial

Also I feel perfectly when I can push several tenths after having a gold and when I cannot scratch a 0,001 in silver times. I don’t know how I can be very good in some TT (Tokyo I’m in 1,87%) and other ones I just can’t get gold.

I'm a big fan of the latest TTs, or rather the 2 new ones (I'm praying the Alpine gold time sticks as I'd rather french kiss a skunk than go back to it)

The 370Z at Alsace is a lot of fun, still haven't managed to nail the exit of the big hill, but have enjoyed the 370's rather chaotic handling when mixed with the undulations and bumps of the track.

And then onto Tokyo and what is in my opinion an epic combo, getting any of these Gr3 cars into the 'flow' is a wonderful thing but in the M6 it's paradise, every lap trying to push a little more, brake a little later, get on the power than split second earlier is real hot lapping in my opinion. Sure, the walls and ridiculous penalties are a pain, but it's the 1st TT in a while where I can really get in the zone and before you know it, you've done 20 laps.

I may have to resort to the meta car for this one but at the moment, I'm loving the M6

I appreciate that mate! I'm a very positive person in general with anything and don't believe anything is truly impossible so it's just my natural way of coming across.

Hi,

I haven't been in here for a few weeks. My words - you folks have been busy!

I have, finally!!!, managed a top 500 time (twice!) Very very pleased with both of them... Okay okay, the Daytona time doesn't have too much kudos attached but the Big Willow time was special for me. Very special!

I don't have too much time to play at the moment. There is an awful lot going here. Had a quick blast at Alsace earlier and threw down a 52:7xx. Gold done. Move on. I won't be able to get back there before it finishes.

Best regards to all here.

Ian.

More car testing… 650S was ok, but Lexus seems to be the fastest of all the cars tested to date. So fast in fact that I found over 2 tenths on my best BMW time. Will try the M6 again at some point just to make sure that this isn’t down to track familiarity, but quite happy with the time so far, and that optimal is very encouraging

Today I did not watch the race but went back to Barcelona myself with the Alpine. This session felt good, directly from the first lap on and I managed to get even with one foot in gold area (1:29:7xy) at the moment. Optimum would save two tenths more but it is unlikely that this will happen...

Still not one single lap in Tokyo... yet. See ya!

Very impressive Carlos, good times you go there, I love my LEXUS RCF, I may give that a shot tomorrow and seee how I go to shave off some tenths hehe.

Difference i think is I have a very clear pattern, I will almost always gold race cars but struggle with the weight transfer of heavier road cars.
It's getting harder to improve so I'll bank this lap and sit on top for a while☺️ PB sector 1, close to PB sector 2, and an ok final sector.
Can you just let it be mate, I finally managed to nab gold by under a 10th a REALLY don't want to do this one again. I still have zero idea how to tackle the apexless last right hander, if i be sensible I am slow, throw it in and it is faster but car is all over the shop.

I finally got round to trying the three time trials. I was surprised to find that there was a third one this time. I guess I haven’t been paying much attention in the last week.

First up Tokyo. I got gold quickly but then plateaued. I tried quite a bit but I just can’t figure out how to get more time. I left it at this.

Next, Spain. Catalonia is not a track I like and with the VGT I has trouble with this one. This took an hour to get gold and perhaps another to get a time I hope will be safe. I don’t want to come back to this one.

Last was Alsace. My first few laps were like…

Then I started to get it. This ended up being the best of the bunch and possibly the most fun. I’m beginning to think I’m a road car guy…

On saturday i had a 2nd go at Alsace, hoping to secure the gold with a sub 53:
Alsace_Gran Turismo™ 7_20250531175004.jpg

Optimal was an 52.8, but falling down that cliff always ended too random to keep going. :sly:

On sunday i did more than 300 Km at Catalunya. I had one lap that felt realy good. Unfortunatly it wasn't fast enough to beat that 1:29 :banghead:
Barca_Gran Turismo™ 7_20250601113101.jpg

Optimal here was a 1:58,825! But i just can't get those good sectors together for one perfect lap. So close to my 1st top 1000 finish ... but it doesn't seem to happen 😭

Morning folks,

Did not have much playtime over the weekend but i'm kind of glad i didn't, maby it's time to turn it down a bit....

So i ran a few laps this morning around Alsace..., managed a .227 comming from a 290...
So licking the top 100 again, which..... would hold for a few hours... 😟

for the one who is curious about the lap..

The bad news is that there is still a tenth in there but i'm already fed up with it, and the worst is that i'm fed up with all 3 of them, the VGT i haven't touched anymore and not going to, Tokyo is just not my thing but mentioned that already, and then alsace ...., nice for a session or 2/3 but not more than that.... then the worst of all...

We are ofcourse getting Le Mans thursday and i'm not looking forward to that either.... so, sorry to say but kind of trial burned out here...

I'll probl find my mojo again somewhere sometime, but the O-6- hundred GT7 alarm is going to O-7 hundred for some time!

Totally understandable and probably a healthy decision. I took a step back as well as it was beginning to feel more and more like work. I'm still enjoying the time trials very much (especially now that my Playseat Trophy arrived ;)), but I stopped obsessing over them. Restricting myself to two or three sessions per week keep the fun alive.

First attempt at Alsace in my shiny new rig produced a 52.472 which put me safely in top 500. But shortly thereafter @330_D beat me by two hundredths. Not sure I can let that stand. So much for stopping obsessive behaviour 🤣

Happy lapping guys!

You're not alone. I've been like that since mid-April. I'm now just doing enough to get gold and moving on.

And I've got what should be safe golds for all the current TTs, then away on holiday next week, so zero miles for the first two weeks in June.

Good to hear i'm not alone, though.... it's also a shame it's not just me 😂
But i think indeed not to bad to turn the obsessive behaviour down a bit @crome , well spoken, and very true..
very competitive since our stats-man pulled the leaderboard and seeing myself tumbling down the board means action, but i have to let that go sometimes and now and then gold things and run for the sake of sleep 😂

Maby a good combo will make me happy, we will see.

@half_sourly i noticed you dropped in times indeed there i normally have to work my a*s of to keep up,
we will rise again 😂😂

Honestly, same here @Gomario JSP - until this recent Alsace one anyways. Just had a streak of 'whatever' TTs that didn't motivate me to participate much! Comes and goes in waves.

Here's an idea that could add some extra TT enjoyment - a regular GTP lobby for practice laps and races?

Could be a weekly organised lobby, or anyone could open whenever they feel like it? I'd happily join a lobby rather than run 50 laps by myself!

Both Alsace and Barcelona TT's could make for fun lobbies. Or if Thursday brings something interesting maybe we try and see if there's interest then? Thoughts?
