Please focus on Le Mans as the GT3 at Tokyo might be a historic chance for me to get in front of you. Of course not done yet...

@Lightpilgrim : you will already have made your choice but I did this morning 10 laps with the Supra, the Lexus and the M6 again and I will stick with the bimmer for this round. There is no wrong or right just personal preferences (although I like Lexus a lot!).

Happy lapping!
Guys if someone wants to add me to share lap times it will motivate me to push harder. Some of you look like have the same level as me but when I gold (if I gold it) a TT I let it go.

Went back to Le Mans as the scrutineering is running IRL. My previous time was 3:16.171, less than a second from silver. It seems that I can continue with the silver streak. As always, big thanks to @Tidgney for the guide and the community here for pushing to get better! :gtpflag:

My optimal is 3:13.793, so there's room for improvement, will definitely try to go below 3:14. I don't see any chance for gold but I do like the track and keep on doing it for pure enjoyment including going back to the Group C cars.

I only wanted to test some new racing equipment - turned out to be a pretty good purchase :D

But now, as i've reached my 1:26 goal, i will not return! I promise 🤞! Good luck, you can beat that!

Great Job! 👏 Dang, it was that close...

To continue with my Le Mans saga, I tried the 787B, the R92CP and the XJR-9. I couldn't get a completely clean lap in the Mazda or the Nissan but I preferred the Nissan from the 3, it also seems to be the fastest among the cars I tried, ending up at 211/212 mph. My optimal in the Nissan was 3:17.500 but neither of them felt particularly close to me. I switched back to the 962C and was immediately faster than the other 3. I ended up so far with a 3:17.596 but my optimal is 3:15.605 with it, pretty close to the current silver barrier... I don't think I could be faster with the old Porsche than the GR010 but it's fun nonetheless. I will continue trying to get under 3:16, and will give another chance of the C9, as well, these 2 are my favorite Group C cars (plus the C11 but that's not in the game - the XJR-14, 787B and the LC2 are honorary mentions).

Le Mans TT is tough for me. Comfortably in Silver but it’s going to take some study and practice to get Gold. I’m pretty sure that I cheesed the heck out of this track whenever it appeared in the menu book, either bypassing the chicanes or bouncing off the AI cars to stay on. GT7 getting its revenge😝 I also need to complete the circuit experience for this.

Session with the beautiful Peugeot 908 HDI FAP was fruitful this evening. Managed to get the laptime down from a 3:16:085 to a solid and respectable 3:14:719. Very happy with that time ☺️
Still not sure it was a good idea to accept your friend request 😜 I only had 2 friends playing GT7, one of them get gold always (ok, not with the GR Corolla on ice), and nowadays I can beat the other one (both are on controller while I'm using a G29). Now, there you are in front of me :D

Anyway, the 908 does look good, not sure if I can bring the 919 to silver but will try (maybe with the Audis, too). I do have a bit of a soft spot for Peugeot, I had a 307 5-door with the 2 liter, 136 HP engine as a company car for 3 years back in Hungary. I was even photographed in that (or rather the car was photographed) leaving Paris on the M4 towards Germany back in October 2005 :)

No worries! These days I don't have the time anymore to tank in hours and hours to shave off time and besides that I am getting old which slows me down too but hey I must say, the run with the 908 surprised me and it is a car I used a lot in every GT game so maybe that helps. I am using a G29 too and I enjoy the little gaming time I have in different ways these days. I cherry pick the time trials a bit....and it has been a while too I ran a more "serious" lap in GT7. Le Mans scratches that itch though....

Nice to read someone else has a softspot for the Peug. They become pretty rare these days :D

I have very limited IRL track experience but that 307 can claim most of that. I one 15-minute session each on the Hockenheimring with a Opel Zafira 2.2L TD, a Ford Focus C-Max 2L TD and a 2006 Mk2 Focus ST (my ex-company car in Germany). The 307 has been on the Hockemheimring, as well but most importantly, it can also claim 2 Touristenfahrten laps on the Nordschleife (these 2 track drives were only a couple days apart), so yeah my wife and I loved the car :)

To stay on topic though, I tried my luck with both R18s, the 908 and 919 again, no banana. I couldn't even complete a proper lap with the 908 and if I could have, it would have been a high 3:19 at best :) As such, big congrats to the provisional silver (so far) in it! It's funny though that I'm truly a talentless idiot when it comes to driving fast, yet I'm faster in the Gr. C cars, and the only assist I use is weak ABS... Sure, they're faster on the straights but still...

Morning folks!

I woke up fairly early today, wife still in deep sleep, furry bastards still knocked out so had some time to do some laps.
Not a hard choice for me....Tokyo....nope..
Le Mans?......definitely no 🤣, so short frustrating laps it will be 🤣

Took me a while to get into a descent S1, had a hard time getting it below .7 but was surprised I ran a .199 (pb) on a .715, luckly S1 came down steady to consistently beeing .6xx and got a descent bunch of laps in the high 1's .. so time to push a bit longer 😁

Finally had descent S1 @630 and almost scraped the paint of the mirror at the supadupaelevationdipper and didn't have that much oversteer coming out resulting in a 33.950 split, not my fastest ( was a .924 ) but absolutely hammered the righthander 🤣😁

although I lost a bit by sliding right before the finishline... but ill take it..
Realy hope this sticks for top 100!

Have a great weekend,

Did a “few” laps last night with the GR010 and managed to drop over a second from my previous time. It was 3:14.426, now I’m at 3:13.276:

IMG_1227.jpeg

This is better than my previous optimal time and currently this is my optimal, as well, this was my very last lap.

I can see that I have a lot to gain in all of the corners, at least a second. Gold is 2 seconds away, a world apart, although tbh I do see at least 2 seconds time loss in my best lap across all corners…

I will try and go under 3:13, will see whether I have what it takes to get gold - won’t be disappointed if I don’t, this is already beyond crazy that I got to this point.

And it's way from beyond crazy how the #1 guy got a 3'05.922 time. I highly doubt anyone will be able to catch him even having TCS set at 0. Anyways good job on getting your silver medal. Have a nice safe weekend.

Just a little off topic here.....

If apart from the TTs, anyone that's playing the weekly races then You'll agree that the Tokyo Expressway South Clockwise format is so fun. Not only wish that was used for a TT but wish had to drive a Silvia car with RM tyres & that even at night.....

Oh man...what a TT it would be.

P.S. - I've taken a break from the current TT (Le Mans) as the weekly races are a thriller.

That's a time a definitely won't beat with the 908 I think. Well done 👍

I'll take something unusual out on Le Mans this evening but all I already know is that this lady understeers a lot...will see what she is capable of in my hands....not a lot probably 😂

Happy weekend fellow sofa racers!

I had a quick run at Alsace last night, but I don’t have the patience for the hill, so moved back to Tokyo. I have to say this is one of the most enjoyable TT for a while, yes the walls are a pain, but the fast flowing nature of the track is great fun in these GT3 cars. No improvement but not far off.

Moved to Le Mans, and while the Toyota seems to be the fastest, the Hyundai is a more settled experience. Into gold and under 3:10 - target right now is a 3:08 if I can peel myself away from Tokyo.

Turned in over 250 miles in the NSX today to get familiar with Tokyo Expressway, and she was good enough to get me Gold.

But the BMW is so much more behaved through the high-speed corners, it was gobbling up time in just the handful of laps I did in it. Will see if it can get me in the 1:56s for this TT.

EDIT: Ok, so I really like this car. 😄
