Once the leaderboards are up and running would you like to see leaderboars as they were in GT5 Prologue, where you use stock cars with a certain set of tires
or
like they are in Forza3, where all cars are upgraded and tuned and have certain performance points?

I like it as it was in Prologue. It is more a direct comparison of driver ability, unlike in Forza3, where it shows more who has the best tuning and setup.

I would be happy with either one.

However, I would definately like them to be how they were in Prologue, no tuning allowed and all the same tires, that's the only way to keep it fair. I realise that tuning is a skill in itself, but then people will find the best tune and share it and then anyone who isn't running that tune is at a disadvantage and it completely ruins the leaderboards.

Stock car, same tires is the way to go if you ask me.. Its not a tuning game, its a driving game.. If you had an event where everybody was using the same car and tires, tuning would be great!

Any would be awesome, but I think two kinds:
- standard/restricted/same car so the emphasis is on the driving
- anything goes

On second thoughts, the second kind in the end turns out to be pointless because the top of the leaderboard is populated by people with the fastest car possible and unless you have that car it's pointless to compete.

:yuck:

It maybe a driving game, but its also a tuning game. Leaderboard for both.

A stock leaderboard and a tuned leaderboard. Some of us like GT for it's tuning too. 👍

Well i vote for both, one for stock and one for tuned, and i hope they allow you to sort so you can compare your times to your friends as well.

Hopefully they make both. Why should there only be one or the other? I want to learn how to tune for different tracks effectively. I just wish there was the ABCD setup from prologue.

The notion of a leaderboard for each car stock is cool but I like the tuned leaderboards much better. Forza has a pretty good leaderboard system. Better in Forza 2 than 3 as it also includes leaderboards for total race time in career races.

Definitely would like to be able to post lap times with my upgraded and tuned cars. Woudl be nice to be able to post these times while racing and earning money also rather than strictly arcade mode time trails.

As for the setups I would settle for the ABC at this point but ideally they need to allow you to save the setup to the harddrive and name it.

These are a couple of areas where Forza has it right.

Have to agree with you here, would love to see a leaderboard similar to forza, but it's probably gonna be more close to the prologue leaderboard i guess.

I would like 1 leaderboard for each track, with a preset car selected by The game which can not be modded. I find them the best as long as we have a leaderboards for each track I'll be happy :) they could even add a weekly/monthly special leaderboards challenge thing with some tasty credit/xp rewards :)

First of all, I hope they implement a car point rating system (choice of tires should affect this). From there, divide the rankings into Stock and Tuned as other users have mentioned. Stock cars can be further divided according to what tires were used, while Tuned cars will have their point system affected by this.

Example:
Stock Cars
a) 200 points w/ Sport Hard Tires
b) 200 points w/ Sport Soft Tires

Tuned Cars
a) 300 points
b) 400 points
etc...

I agree.. But I would say that your tuning skills won't show if you're using different cars. Thats why I wanted tuning to be alowed, if everybody drives the same car. Otherwise it's pointless if you ask me.. Would love leaderboards for both.

The problem with Forza 3 leaderboard is that it's essentially class based. There's no filter for specific cars based on specific tires which I think is essential in a car collecting games like GT5 and FM3. If PD could implement a filter and rules for not only cars and tires but also Power Index (PI like it was in GT5P) then it would be fine. PI isn't perfect but it's a lot more interesting the class based system. Neither of the system is perfect (there's always the perfect car) but it's a start.

Yes Forza is class based and it would be great to have something better but that system is much better than just being able to run totally stock cars in a time trial mode. Time trials are fine Forza has those as well [to a limited degree] but a lot of us love to tune and see how our custom tuned car compares to others. PI system is one way to handle it. One issue is that as many cars as there are in GT5 we could be talking about 1000s of leaderboards if they did them for everycar like they did in GT5P.

I think it would also be nice to have a track leaderboard that crosses classes. In Forza you can see what your A Class time is on a track or a group of tracks where there is more than one configuration. You can see your total time in a given class across all tracks and you can see your total time across all tracks in all classes. the one thing you can not get from the leader boards is your total time on a specific track in all classes.

I know there are lots of people who focus on certian kinds of cars and would be better than I am in thier little niche where I like to drive everything and I would like to see how I rank overall on Nurburgring driving everything from Karts to the X1 all the best laps added together for a total overall time. This would be cool to have and would be simple if the leaderboards were there.

The problem I always had with Forza was, there was just too many leaderboards and so I didn't focus on anything. I think with leaderboards less is more, a leaderboards for each track is all you need I think.

Class based is so limiting. If you go to FM3 leaderboard- pick a circuit for example Laguna Seca and pick a class, D, and what you'll see probably two different cars on the top 50 or even the top 100. And these same cars would be at the top on other tracks. Maybe I'm thick but I can't relate to that.

Leaderboard is basically a database with filtering to sort out records. You can do it with just one single board but 1000 different filters to get the different leaderboards for each of the cars. It's not as daunting as it seems regardless of the number of cars. Instead of just having a scroll down button (which can be a bit too much for 1000 cars), PD could introduce a simple search button to look for specific cars. Problem solved.

i would like to see LB for pad users and wheel users people with wheels are much faster than pad users and its not fair to put the two in the same LBs, i have noticed that this game is very biased towards wheel users making it almost impossible to get gold on the higher licenses and some special events.

Also would be nice to separate RWD, FWD, and AWD or have special filters to see what is the fastest of each drivetrain on each track.

Why stop with just two?

I'd like to see the standard option remain but add classes for tuned cars, tuned production, power to weight classes, no aero, unrestricted and each can be sorted by tyre, drive line type, car model and have the ability to sort by a combination of those.

both tuned and untuned and a way to find out how you compare in any car. Time trial leaderboards tend to become dominated by the faster cars, i want to be able to compare my fastest mini lap on the nordschleife with other minis not have to scrool down endlessly to find it. i suspect well end up with the top 100 places taken up by that red bull thing or f1 cars. So if you like driveing something slower itll be a nightmare to find and compare. A good idea would be to tell you the lap record for your car as you start a time trial.

Prologue had stock and tuned in the online events.

I really don't like the idea of 1 car for each track. How miserable.

Prologue I could take 70+ plus cars to Eiger.

Maybe PD should do stock Premiums and 200-300 Standard cars with 2 tyre options. And also do the tuned Forza style and separate them with classes or PP.

Gotta sort out the cutting on the tracks first.

Doesn't GT5 time trial mode already invalid a lap the moment you go off the track? I've been doing time trial mode with some mates at work for lap times and it's pretty much prefect, just needs the online leaderboards turned on :)

having standard and premium cars in the game should at least implement 2 sets of leader boards in my opinion tuned leader boards for the premiums and stock leader boards for the standards the reason i think this is a good idea is that you cant put aero among other options on the standard cars

Is it confirmed there coming?

I would like to think they will implement them in the next patch update it is one of the main features in racing games in this day and age if they do not come soon they may suffer loosing some of there fan base
