Time trial replays in showcase

When I search time trial replays in showcase I notice that some replays contain a purple stamp on the thumbnail indicating (I assume) the best lap time for that session, while others have no stamp meaning you have to watch to see the lap time. What determines if a replay includes the purple stamp or not?

When saving a replay after a run, you have the option of saving the replay of the whole session (Save Replay) or just saving the replay of the fastest lap (Save Best Lap Replay).

The latter will give the purple timestamp in the thumbnail of the replay. Fastest Lap replays can also be loaded as Ghosts in other Time Trial sessions.
