Timed Enduro End of Race Question

Suppose you're many laps ahead and decide to park your car and not finish the last lap just before 24 hours is showing on the clock (or however many hours the race is timed for). The clock is still running and 2nd-6th place are still finishing their final laps. Does the race continue until the last place car finishes his last lap and then you are declared the winner, or will everyone continue to race until 2nd place overtakes you and crosses the finish line and then he is declared the winner? I'm currently doing the 4 hour Nurburgring and plan to find for sure but I was curious to know if anyone has tried this yet.

In real life endurance races like Le Mans, rules state that whoever covers the most distance in 24 hours wins that race. If the game goes by the same logic then you will win the race even if you don't finish the your last lap, as you are still a few laps ahead of the others, and hence have covered more distance.

But in the game, my experience is that the race finishes when I finish the lap I am on, after the total time lapses. So an Interesting question.

Tell me what happens after you try it yourself.

you have to complete the lap that your on for the race to finish. if second place overtakes you then he is obviously the winner. and as soon as you cross the line on your last lap you win, like the other races

So if I'm 25 laps ahead, the race will go the extra hours until 2nd place overtakes me? That sounds a little bizarre. But, it will be a nice experiment.

i would guess so...we must try something. take a really fast car to the 4hour enduro, do 3 hours and say 45 mins b-spec, then pit and do up until 3 hours and 55 mins. then park up and wait to see what happens

I don't do B-Spec so I'll have to do this all A-Spec. I started it and should be finished by tomorrow, hopefully.

I should know by tomorrow night.

all a-spec....pfff..either way you win :sly:

I'm doing the 4 hour Nurburgring right now. My plan is to get to my last lap and hopefully, I'll be fairly close in front of the pack. Then, I'll do most of the final lap and then park the car somewhere just short of the pit entrance after the 4 hours has elapsed.

It should be pretty easy to watch 2nd-6th pass me, pass the start finish line and either stop or continue. 6th place will be the key. If he continues on for another lap then I'll be worried. Also, if 2nd place comes around again at which point it should be 4 hours + 7+ minutes and if he continues on another lap then I guess we'll have the answer.

OK, this is real time. The clock is at 4:04 and I'm parked just before the pit entrance with a 4 lap lead (4 hour Nurburgring). 2 back markers have passed and are continuing through the start/finish, even though 4:00 has passed.

The pack is passing me right now along with 2nd place and now he shows 3 laps down and continuing around at 4:06.

This is a bizzare feeling, just sitting here watching my 4 lap lead go away...

So far, Smaug, it appears as though chinko is right. The game does not follow the rules.

Now back markers are coming by again at 4:13.They are continuing on. I've been sitting here for more than 12 minutes and cars are still continuing. 2nd place just came through again and he's now 2 laps down and continuing.

I've seen enough. I'm going to go the additional 100 metres and be done with this.

What a disappointment. This sounds like a design flaw to me....

Whoever have LONG DISTANCE Finish at 24 hours AND across FINISH line is WINNER, those 2nd place are not Long enought to WIN....

For ex: like u say, you're 4 lead, stopped by 3:50, so IF 2nd place keep going for 4 lap and PASS you... that's mean HE/SHE have MORE Distance than you and yeah he/she won the race by cross the finish line

and i'm very sorry about my english
