I found it takes smooth inputs. Throttle control is a must. Karts do not respond well to twitchy (nervous) thumbs. Much time can be gained powering around turns with 1/4-1/2 throttle vs brake & accelerate off the apex. You can also add ~5Kg over the rear axle. Once you have your aah-ah moment you will likely see improvement in times with other cars as well.I am a competent driver who can win the World Championship, but I cannot get the hang of driving karts. I seem to spend as much time going sideways as I do going forwards. Could anyone give me some tips please.
The best way to learn Karts is to practise and practise is the key here like SCClockDr said.I am a competent driver who can win the World Championship, but I cannot get the hang of driving karts. Errr...plenty of karts have 4 disc brakes... IRL and GT6.Physics-wise, karts brake at the rear only, so they behave much differently. Smooth inputs, as said many times; don't just lay the steering controller all the way over, you actually have to steer. Slight lift for little chicanes, but don't lift completely as it'll get way sideways or even spin. As much braking as possible before turning.
Amen Brother. For the record I have had both ahh-***t and ahh-ah moments. Well said ClockI found it takes smooth inputs. Throttle control is a must. As many have said in other threads practice practice practice. It is how the aliens achieve those seemingly impossible TT hot lap times.
Good Luck!
