Hey guys! I just got a new DFP! It looks really cool! I just started practicing on it and it is VERY difficult as i was accustomed to the DS2 controller. Can anyone suggest any races or excersizes to get used to the transition?

The obvious answer was the right one for me - practice! I used stock (or near stock) cars and did laps in free run, then gradually stepped up to quicker cars. You'll be surprised how little time it takes to get used to, especially if you do a lot of real driving...

yeah practice is a must, but dont be afraid to go hard on the wheel, and dont be afraid at middle-lower speeds to turn the wheel more than youd think youd need. sometimes fluididty isnt the best way (city tracks).

It is like real driving, if you can drive in real life, you won't have any learning curve...

I practically hopped on and did better than DS2 the first time...

Just pretend like you're driving a sports car or your real car. The DFP has a steering ratio that's quite similar to several sports cars I've had a chance to drive: 350Z, RSX-Type S, Boxster. It might help to put the force feedback on mild if you want the feel of more realistic steering. I think the strong setting is closer to an older sports car with less power steering assist.

When i got DFP i really sux at driving with it and i thought i will never be able to drive good with it. Took me about 3 days about 5-7hours a day to be good enough to get some gold licenses which i could not make with the controller before  , but i still need to learn more...

It will come 👍

Try going to arcade mode and do the Grand Canyon Rally a few times. Guartee you, after doing that race a few times, every other track will seem like cake. 👍

Hehe alright, i did a few laps around nurburgring, after one lap with the controller, i went to the wheel. I just have to beat nurburg in 5'50" and my training will be done.

i knew i wasnt getting the wheel till after id had gt4, so i just waited on getting golds on the license until i had the wheel. then i just used that for practice, 2-3 seconds faster with the wheel now compared to where i was with the ds2.

That tip might sound obvious, but found it to be very true in my situation. Once I got my mind focused on driving "for real" and worrying about hitting walls and going off the road (like in a real car) I found that my driving (and times improved). It's all about getting in the right mindset--it really helps. Especially with the pedals, too. Before that I found myself in "arcade-mode" using the gas pedal as either On or Off and always getting off track.
