Tips on suspension/lsd setup for drifting cape ring?

So recently I was checking out this track that has a big loop in it,And none of my car's seem to be able to "pull out" of the rut.

Usually my car's handle great on pretty much any track,But anything i've been trying seems to have no effect on the front pulling towards the Inner ring about halfway threw and hitting the wall Even at full counter steer. :crazy:


So,does anyone have any tips for making the car track toward's the Outside? :dopey:

I've tryed adding toe-out,locking the dif,having a semi open dif,camber from 2 all the way to 10 and nothing seems to help :indiff:

(I've tryed with a 500hp benz And a 600+hp lexus sedan~Im trying with comfort hards,Do i need something else?)
 
You need to practice. Having a good tune can help but if you have a good drift car with a fair amount of power you just need to keep practising
 
I enter the loop from the bottom, in 5th gear as fast as possible. at the start of the loop you want to keep your line wide, aim to hit the apex real late.. the rest is the norm. Practice.

For many (like me) it is difficult to cope with camber in a track, particularly cape. ring Autumn ring mini use to spin me out with its camber and still stuffs over many others today. I haven't been on the cape ring in yonks but I know if you can keep up speed it can be done
 
Ok so i need two things,pratice and more power,im used to almost stock cars with around 150-200hp so this is all new~ thanks for the info ^.^

It's hard with a DS3 unless you have 700-800bhp, with a wheel you can do it with like 400bhp

EDIT: Just remembered, I did this soon after GT5 came out
 
From my experience with this track, the problem with this loop and using a DS3 is the game seems to limit the amount of counter steer you can give on a banked corner, it's really annoying because it makes you have to keep tiny angle through the corner or spin out.

No offence to the posters of the videos above, but I personally would not consider that a proper drift as the steering is straightened most of the time.

and to the second vid, great job in the veyron, mine too can slide uphill on this corner. 👍

Just look at any D1gp video and you will see that nobody straightens their steering unless they made a mistake. I thought this would be obvious to anyone into drifting.
 
With a DS3 you can lock to lock way faster than a wheel, so if your wheels straightn it's usually not a big deal when using a remote, but on the big loop it is. Practice with a high horsepower car and you should be able to get it.

well i don't know about you but I have never seen cape ring in real life? I thought this was obvious to anyone on this thread. Go on wize guy show me your best drift around it in any car getting maximum angle using the DS3!

OK I'm a break it to you like this, this way of drifting the ring is called 'power....over' 101.

Try a mercedes r129 sl, Their very stable and put out over 600hp, (from sl500 up), You should eventually grasp it. And make sure you don't have any downforce.
 


my veyron's turn for the spotlight, going in the opposite way. I tried more for angle this time.👍
Tune in garage tomorrow.

It doesn't matter if the track is real or not the same rules apply. The OP was asking how to get the car to track to the outside. I was saying to the OP that there is a problem with the steering on DS3 which limits the amount of counter steer on this corner, which could be the reason he cannot get the car to track to the outside, it makes this corner near impossible to do a proper drift on. So my point was maybe he shouldn't worry too much about it.
I can't drift this corner with DS3, I can do what you are doing in that video, but not what I consider a proper drift. It doesn't have to be maximum angle it just has to have at least some angle for the complete corner, and it's the angle of the steering that counts.
If you're happy to call that proper drifting good for you, maybe that's as good as it can be done on DS3 and you're happy with that. But for me if I can't do it right, I don't do it at all.

oh did you see the 2nd vid I posted? i tried for more angle. if you look at the car in comparison to the lines on the track I almost hold 40 degrees the whole way. Its not even hard, have a try.

Lol calm down, you told me you were not offended and then you come out with these comments. It doesn't matter what angle the car is at, it's the steering angle that counts. I prefer to enjoy myself playing and that corner is not enjoyable to me, because the game limits the steering angle. The first few times I did this corner I was wondering how the car was spinning out so easy, because in real life it would be harder to spin the car out on a banked corner, then I watched the replays and I saw the game is limiting the amount of counter steer and that's why it spins out so easily.
Like I said, if you're happy with that good for you.

No you read wrong, I said it's the angle of the steering that counts. Why don't you try drifting a RWD car all the way through that corner, you probably don't notice the fault in the game using a 4WD as they make it too easy to "drift".

Stop trying to take what I said out of context, I meant it's the angle of the steering is what matters, because you can have the car backwards if you want, but if the steering is straight it's Fail. If you don't know that much, you shouldn't be giving anyone advice about drifting.

Be a man about it and admit, you are not as good as you pretend to be, you will never be as good as me because you just give up (thats the only reason why). I will never let someone like you get the better of me, and I never stop trying until mastered. Now do what you do best and give up this argument, because I sure as hell wont. If you wanna settle this lets battle, hell... I'll take time out of helping many with the drifting school and the tuning garage to show you personally, the fruits of my labour.

Now to the OP, I have posted vids and tunes to help you grasp the idea of the ring, sorry for getting put off track but hey, You can take his advice to just not bother, or just practice, its easy once you know where to go.👍

i think you gotta use a wheel, havent seen it done on a controller before

I runned many hundred of times, both directions, with many diferent cars. I guess i made it less than 10 times, doing a perfect line. So its possible to do with a controller (even using the d-pad), but the sucess is not frequent. For me the biggest challenge is deal with that small imperfection exactly in the midle of the path, specialy when it comes surprisely.

How good am I pretending to be exactly? I gave some facts about the game that might help the OP better understand why his car is not going out wide for him on that corner and critique your video because your steering is straight, which in fact is not acceptable in drifting. Now you want to drift against me in the game and that will prove you are right? Grow up.
