The issue with tyres in GT5 is not the level of grip they provide (which is actually fine) but the progression of grip; both from one grade of tyre to the next (which is done via simple grip increase values) and how the tyre looses grip (which is not close to progressive enough.
Oh and could you please ensure you follow the AUP with your posts, the correct use of capital letters is required, as per the AUP you agreed to when you joined.
If the race requires "sports hard or less" that would be the best tire to use.
If the race requires "racing hard or less" that would be the best tire to use.
If your not used to the tire brake earlier and try not to make sudden movements until you get used to the tires. Basically drive slower until you get a feel for it.
Some cars and more difficult than others.

^ yes the tyres aren't crappy. The problem is that you have got used to race soft. These are way too grippy! Take a bit of time to get used to sports tyres and you will find they are more progressive in terms of grip loss and nicer to drive.
