If you like drifting then you will not like the G27. We have both the DFGT and the G27 and it's much more difficult (for me) to drift with the G27.

You already got the answers about clutch, stick shift - they do work just fine.

Is to change the angle of the wheel! Through the Logitech software on your PC, uncheck the wheel to control the game.

its ok, I did drift quite well with the DFGT (and I was very good with SixAxis), but DFGT had very cheap plastic feel to it, very bad noise and it breaks all the time, from what I saw and heard, G27 will be better loking, bit bigger, better materials, clutch, stick shift, 900 degrees rotation... it seems it will be quite strong too... so Im definitely buying it, when my money from work will reach me :) cant wait to test it out.. I already build very good wheel setup... so it will be plug and play.. i just hope it will be stronger for my slides and fast movements to right and left while drifting.. with my DFGT feeling was like it will breake any time :) and it did..

thanks alot for your help and info guys! much appreciated 👍

You know, you could have just Googled all the answers or use the search tab.

Anyways....
1. G27 is a DFGT + clutch + H-shifter
2. drifting feel is about the same
3. 900 degree rotation only
4. It's only reliable if you don't torture it 24/7
5. G27 doesn't have the sequential shifter that the G25 has
6. G27 isn't as loud as the G25 when turning the wheel
7. G27 was nerfed because of the Thrustmaster
8. obviously, the G25 and G27 work with GT5,....what kind of question was that?

I still don't see how a mid-range wheel like the G27 will take sales away from such a high end wheel like the T500rs. Not when the Thrustmaster is over double the price. PD's logic in nerfing the wheel ingame is flawed.

I've just bought a G27 myself, waiting for it to arrive. As my first wheel i'm really looking forward to giving it a go with GT5. I'm saddened to find out after taking a 3 month break from GT5 that they haven't even added an option to map a couple of buttons, especially considering it's one of the most requested features from the fanbase. A lot of GT5 owners already have G25/27s and are hardly likely to swap their wheel for one which is twice as expensive and doesn't have a shifter. Unless of course, they are loaded :P

As it's been posted here before, the G27 wheel is just the right size to slap a controller at the center of the wheel held on by a few rubber band on each side. I really don't care if the six button can be mapped when I can mapped the whole controller with the g27 wheel. For example I like to assign the hand brakes to my right analog stick in GT5 instead of a button. I wished all PS3 racing games allow you to use both the g27 and controller.

Added : if a game allow you to map G27 H-shifter (like all PC games but Gt5 don't) then you can easily turn the h-shifter into a sequential shifter with just a few rubber bands. There is a G27 seq. shifter mod out but I rather use rubber bands since it's easier to switch back to H shifter.

I had a Driving Force Pro (basically same as DFGT) for about 3 months, I hated the Woooo Woooooooo noise when turning quickly

This has been addressed a bit in the DFGT, but is also relative to degrees of rotation, so for example, when I play GTR Evo, I use 330deg, so the wheel range is limited, and there's very little sawing noise.

But the wheel, pedals and shifter are all quality and look and feel a thousand times better than the DFP

As I've said before, if you primarily want to console race with ABS on{DFGT's biggest problem is braking}, then a DFGT is good value, but as you mentioned, the G27 is in another league by every measure, especially the pedals.

No, G27 has a leather wheel vs hard plastic, and the G27 has outstanding pedals in comparison.
A DFGT is a good arcade or starter wheel, but once you get serious, moving up or beyond a G27 will be a no brainer.
