I know how everyone is loving the Ferrari seasonal at Sarthe. I love the threads about times with the Enzo with/without cuts and the how low can you go e-penis competitions. How about this?

See how slow of a lap time you can get and still win. 💡

I've done this in about 4:30 and it's hilarious. A 512BB actually got second place!

Just get ahead and block as slowly as you can for the rest of the lap. Post your best results below. Pics are a plus. :sly:

this seems like a good idea, I just might give this ago:lol:

My 200th post to boot!!!!

Hahaha, congrats!

Yeah, when I did this out of boredom, it ended up being the most entertaining thing I've done with any of the seasonals.

Go corral those cavallinos!

we must really be bored

I won in about 4 minutes one time, but not on purpose :(
It was with my Enzo, I kept crashing on the final S turns.

I crashed everywhere possible and got a 4:02, came first, I also had a 3:53 and came second??? How!!

It's probably most visable in the la Sarthe race but PD uses a sort of boost in all the seasonals. The faster your running on the track the faster the AI goes. I've seen the AI Enzo at la Sarthe pull a 3:40 lap when I was cutting all the chicanes and completing the race around 3:30. That time is probably unrealistic considering the AI Enzo is unmodified and is using sports grade tires. Only explanation therefore has to be boost. Can make things frustrating when you have a lead of several seconds, make an error and the lead Enzo suddenly is passing you.

If you look at the first sector times in the replays, you will be allways at least 7 seconds slower than the AI, that's with my fastest way of cutting too, they pull 21-22 second first sectors, where I pull 27-28, so they could then get fast clean laps. I get 3:30's clean, but that's with a much faster car than the AI. I've also noticed the "boost" effect the Ai get.

Yes, bored of doing the same race over and over and over and over. So once every few races, I see how slow I can go and keep the AI from passing lol. It's hilarious when they all bunch up behind you. :dunce:

I'll try this in the next couple of days. :)

Don't tell me GT5 has rubberband AI. :ouch:

just did it after grinding my way back to 10 mil credits, did it in 4.10 in my 458 Italia had both Enzo's and sister car all over my arse going into the Ford chicane and won by .24x

I was trying to get under 03:30 mins in the SP1 '08 and finally managed it the other day. Anything to save the boredom, but the cash is Grrrrreat.

GT5 has rubberband AI :)

Noticed it quite early on in A-spec, if you make a mistake the AI slows to let you catch up and finishes 3-4 seconds slower than when you were pushing to the limit.

The later events however, don't seem to have it at all. But the same can't be said for seasonals.

That's true to the point the AI drives, for certain events, as hard as they need to. Can be seen in B-spec quite clearly. I'd rather call it fuzzy logic.

It's in the British Lightweight Nürburgring race, the leading Lotus finishes round the 8 minutes mark give or take how fast you are. It's certainly not present in the Expert Challenge nor the Special events from A-Spec. Also in the 4 hrs Nürburgring enduro, AI gets the same laptimes nö matter what car you use or how well you drive.

Makes perfect sense to me, IRL I only push as hard as I need to, the other races are set up in classic GT style.

Managed to get a 4:29 and 1st place. A F40 got second place and the other two Enzos got 5th and 6th place lol.

LOL SO MUCH..., i've been 'blocking' since i play GT, for me it's part of the game..., i thought i was the only one.
Greetings stano666 :)

3:40? That sounds like you just beat them outright. Its a fun challenge to try to win with a 4:30

Fully tuned, like 900hp. Little overkill. Wanted some fast cash

The point of this thread is to talk about how SLOW of a time you can WIN with.

It is NOT about your best time or whether there is rubberbanding.

I have yet to win with slower than a 4:30 yet. :dunce:

No doubt there was a little 'Push & Shove' involved ?

Enemy cars have a big headstart wich could explain this ?
I miss standing starts, the starting procedure PD implemented in GT5 is:yuck: imo.
The game still has redeeming features (i see blocking fast cars as a nice one) but i hate to see GT6 have the same race set up (start last.., follow & overtake the leader)
Greetings stano666 :)

4:35,301 and still first :)

/edit
I'm even "better" ! ;p
4:38,270 ^_^

They really need to have qualifying. It's actually incredibly annoying they don't.

When I am setting up gears and suspension from race to race, I need practice time, and the ability to compare to the competition. That preparation is real motorsport. Just use my best practice lap time to set the field, too.

Those who want to skip it can do so and start last.

I like how you refer to opponents as enemies

Some of the AI cars are modified. I was doing a run once, went to cut the chicane and came unbelievably close to hitting a 458 sitting in 3rd. When I checked out the replay, I paused it right at the moment of near impact, I came just inches from the other car. Then I noticed that 458 was running a titanium racing exhaust. I don't know about the Enzo's, but I know that 458 I almost hit had some upgrades.

MMM I thought about this before: -¿do those smurfs(aka: enemies) smurf(aka: up-grade) their cars?- That 'boosting business'(aka: smurfing) could explain things too. But why would PD use both...? ..,And if they use smurfed-up(aka: better) exhausts ..¿, why not use better tyres?
(smurftyres stick like glue, i recommend to use smurfs instead of rubber) Sometimes i believe PD is more crazy then me(wich i don't mean negative) But i'm guessing and speculating here. Does anyone know how this exactly works ? I've heard PD isn't very forthcoming with info like that. And -tbh- i haven't looked very deep into this matter (it doesn't matter that much to me) and i'll rather see PD do different stuff like building GT6 or a race where you have to qualify (sounds good imo) but i'm going of topic (aka: going smurf)
Greetings stano666 :)
