Time to ask:

Are you tired of these threads as well?

Like:
We should have this car and that track.
A livery editor is needed.
I like to have rims, wheels and body parts.
Seasonals, why not this and that...?

I have a feeling that there are too many whiners around, complaining about one of the (if not THE) most updated games.

Well, teazing Kaz (with his attitude toward Nissan, GT-Rs etc.)... Okay... (I did so in the meme thread.)
But somehow and sometimes it sounds like claims: You promised to deliver, still missing...
The game is almost 2 years old - new features were added. A complete stand-alone competition started (Gran Turismo Academy 2012) and people are complaining that they don`t get their FREE stuff at once...

OMG, am I too old to understand or what?

I don`t expect too much from this thread. I guess it was needed to blow off my steam...

Have fun and give more than you get. Peace!

Hate to be one of those "There is a thread for this" types but seriously, there is a thread for this here called "requests gone too far". And yes, i am also sort of amazed by all the requests and demands.

👍:tup:Monat... couldn't agree with you more. Come On People!!! Enjoy the game for what it is -- constant updates and additional races and content -- quit whining -- grow up -- get over it

It isn't Kaz's responsibility to keep other people entertained. PD is a company that provides a product for consumers. At this point I think they are doing a successful job of providing good value to their customers.

Brilliant irony in creating this thread.

People are free to say what they like here as long as they follow the AUP. If you don't like that, you don't have to read everything. Moaning about it is as I say, quite ironic.

As I am familiar with the concept of irony I saw this coming and you have a point there. Still I felt it was time to use my freedom of speech/write (following the AUP)...

+ About a million,this thread really isn't any better.

The poll is pretty weird. I am tired of whining too, but constructive criticism is always welcome. It's really sad that people need to offend Yamauchi personally because they are disappointed with the game. And whatever gets added to the game, people will always want more.

People here say "PD needs to listen to the fans". I'm not sure how they are supposed to do that when the community's opinion is divided over almost every subject.

Complaining over Complaining™

Always my favourite

This is internet community man. There is no *ultimate reasoning* that can stop either complaints, wishlists or similar folklore.

Democracy has it's flaws - I personally find Enlightened Absolutism as only way to govern public opinion because everything else leads to chaos, anarchy and complete lack of focus - but until such is established here, you have to play along.

👍

I have to agree with this too.👍

Well, I have to accept this one...

I have a feeling that there are too many whiners around, complaining about one of the (if not THE) most updated games.

Why is the amount of updates important? I'm much more concerned about the contents of updates. We've had so many updates, yet some things still remain unfixed. Some updates were just silly to have in the first place, like a racing game without adjustable gearing.

Feedback is only going to improve the game (if it's listened to) so I don't see why people complain about those kinds of threads.

Not settling for a subpar product sounds grown up to me, as opposed to just taking what you're given. I suppose you could sometimes argue about the tone of the opinions presented on GTP, but I feel that the negativity towards critiques of the game is generally overblown.

It isn't Kaz's responsibility to keep other people entertained. PD is a company that provides a product for consumers.
Then it is his responsibility to keep people entertained, or he doesn't sell anything and PD goes out of business.

Options. One group wanted tires included in PP. Another didn't. These two options don't conflict in the slightest.

There are some points which are worth to talk about or complain... Forget about that!
My point/statement is about quality and scope of complaining. I don`t claim for myself to be right. It`s just my opinion. :D

Then why did you read it :):)

Im Joking of course 👍

I know. It's sad. People really think they are going to make a positive note with how they are complaining about "No DLC, this DLC is crap, WTF no livery editor, Holy crap this damage is so unrealistic". It's not gonna get you what you want, it's gonna get, as KB18FAN says, "shots fired" at you.

I'm tired of threads complaining about people who make threads complaining about the game.

This is a Gran Turismo fan site. Fans are allowed to discuss, complain, or praise the game as they wish.

It is sorta funny that the OP believes that the game is perfect and we (others) should just drive and shut up. Of course with that in mind, why have a forum at all, what you bought is what you got, end of discussion.
Any discussion of any kind requires someone to had a diverging/opposite opinion or theres no reason to talk about it, just say "That`s right" and walk away.

That being said, GT5 needs qualifying in championship series.
I was in the Formula Champ. today and had to guess that my set-ups were right for all the races because there was no opportunity to test them before the race. GT4 had qualilfying

Now just say "That`s Right" and walk away...:)

Great one Montesende - but I do have a gripe as most users do. All of us have a special place in our driving hearts for GT and well, we would all like to have/see that "spark" that got us here today. Mine was seeing the Cerbera LM's right side hitting the corner curb cut, bouncing the car in the air to hit the next turn at SSR11 in the very first GT's commercial. My jaw simply hit the floor! MUST...HAVE...GT! GT started with (and continued) with home-made tracks that many of us enjoyed and loved to race on. Midfield and Apricot Hill were GOLDEN tracks that never made it into this latest edition and are sorely missed. If you can put in several tracks from the very first edition like Autumn Ring, why not ALL of them? I will continue to push for such things whether it is called whining or not. Those early tracks were staples, and should continue to be so. After all, it is us die-hards that made the series - it takes sales to make sequels - drivers to own everything that is Gran Turismo - and wish-lists that keep us buying - and hoping.

I had to read your post 5 times! I'm still not sure if you're agreeing with the op or disagreeing?? I think you were disagreeing but then you said "what you bought is what you got, end of discussion", that makes it sound like "shut up and drive" (as quoted by you).

I don't believe anyone thinks this game is perfect, ANYONE! I'm one of those that think the game is good but not perfect, and still see areas of improvement.

I think you missed the OPs point; complaining and whining, especially about something that is out of your control. Sure, criticism is fine and everyone is entitled to their opinion, but wishing and wanting sets your expectations so high that I'll never be achieved.

On more thing, this board is way more than a wishlist board, its a place where people come to share tips, info, and discuss the game (as well as other things in the other sections). Just because this is an "opinion" board, doesn't mean that it's the place to bash everything they see fit, there's constructive criticism, then there's complaining/whining.

Edit, just saw the poll, damn! That number soo doesn't reflect the majority of this site (from what I read) lol. BTW, I'm a yes ;)

I voted "No". Those who bought the game with their hard-earned money have the right to say whatever they want about it. People are allowed to criticize the game all they want, just as others are allowed to call GT5 "the best game ever" as I've seen some say.

Threads? Yes and no, depending on what it is.

Individual posts scattered about? No.

Why? Tired of seeing "PD should add these cars *insert list of 🤬 ricers*" and other "I want, I want, I want" threads. They just seem out of place (complaint/request forum section? 💡). Individual posts aren't as "hey, look at me!" as a whole new thread. Plus, the game does deserve some criticism thanks to the lack of promised features and such.

Looks like an odd no from me.

This thread became more than expected.

Well said, my friend, well said...

Having the right to complain about the game and being tired of hearing people complain about it, are not mutually exclusive thoughts. I too believe people have the right to say whatever they like about the game, with the AUP of course, but it is nauseating to see the same stuff over and over and over. I stopped reading those "I want" threads a long time ago because they were just so repetitive and unrealistic.

If you can put in several tracks from the very first edition like Autumn Ring, why not ALL of them?

Here are some interesting details for you than:

All Original Courses (which describes tarmac racing tracks designed by PD) in GT5 are only from the first Gran Turismo game, with addition of Cape Ring as the only new *original course* introduced in GT5.

Strangely, worth noticing is how Cape Ring - with all its layouts - is also the first Original Course in the series history that does not offer Reverse versions of the layouts, as all other previous Original Courses are ofering.

There is no Original Course from any later GT game (GT2, GT3 or GT4) presented in GT5. Midfield, Apricot, Red Rock, Grindelwald, Tahiti.. those are all tracks that originates from GT2, while only Midfield and Apricot transferred to PS2-era of the series.

Also worth noticing is how 2 remaining GT1's Original Courses that are missing from the GT5 list are the original Test Track and SSR11.

73 % want GT becoming CoD or like when companies milk the cow without making a game better. Nice
