You guys are more than welcome to join.
All the details for this coming Friday's race are on page one.
Right now there's one Mercedes SLS AMG left and one Ginetta(possibly 2).

Alright last night some of the other drivers were using CAT6 cables to help improve their online experience.

I'm going to pick up two this evening. One for the modem to the router and the second for the Router to the PS4.

I didn't have a problem along with those(4 of us) that stayed behind.
I think Project Cars relies heavily on how strong everyone's internet service is. Not enough strong signals. The game breaks down for everyone. Starting a new room or transferring the host to someone else fixes the problems.

We also didn't encounter the 30 minute crash.

Good news and really bad news.

Good news - the pit stop bug where you get stuck in the pits only happens to whoever has the first pit box (closet to pit exit). Every other time the room is created the host will have the number one box. If the room gives you the number one box just open a new room and you will have the number two box. Then in theory everyone else will have pit boxes behind you.

Really bad news - no matter what combo I tried I couldn't get a pitstop to give me anything other than softs when I changed tires. I tried medium to medium, hard to hard, hard to medium, tried race and practice. Nothing worked, the game switched to the correct compound while in the box, but as soon as you get on track they go to softs instantly. I did a race last night on 4.0 and went from medium to medium, so this is very strange that I'm having these problems.

If someone could try to change compound and report here that would be great because I really don't understand how this was overlooked by SMS.

Yeah right now it has nothing to do with our internet, it just has new bugs i feel. Its a complex game that will be perfect someday but we will have to be patient. I will try the compound switch while in the race tonight, last night i tried but i had the dreaded 1st pit box:banghead:.

Were the compound changes made during the pit stop or pre selected in the pit stop menu?
Also was the pit stop request(button or keyboard) used prior to entering the pit stop.

PCars has two types of pit stops. Scheduled and unscheduled.

We'll try racing tonight and see what we find out.

I'll be host.

If the tire compound bug is there. That's an easy fix. ;)

I used a pre selected pit strategy that i had saved. I was going from med to soft tires. It was an unscheduled stop.

If it's not too late I think I'm going to change my car. I'm not really bonding with the RUF. I would like to change to the SLS AMG #53

I thought scheduled stops were only for single player but I'll try it later. Everything else you mentioned I tried.

Scheduled stops are when you see the pit board and your race engineer is telling you.
We are ready, box, box, box.

Unscheduled is when you map a button and use it before a scheduled stop.

After a short amount of time. You should hear the phrase. We're ready box, box, box.

If you don't, is it possible your pit engineer is saying to himself. "Yeah right, go around one more lap until we have everything in place." Oh, and since you want us to rush out there and do as you please. We'll just put the same tires on that you came in with.:lol::lol:

Now I'm must be out of mind to think that SMS would go that far to replicate real world racing to this degree. I wish they would. I really wish they would.

Tonight we'll find out.

I have a feeling the game is putting on default tires for the weather. Which in dry conditions would be soft tires. I talked to another person in the patch notes thread, but instead of softs he kept getting full wets and it was raining at the start of the race.

Oh that would suck, stuck on rains all race not cool haha

Alright Gentlemen.
Here's what's planned.

Since the pit box 1 bug does exist and the work around will work, but......we have too many drivers to use it.
The plan is to reduce the number of laps to 15. Nothing will change as far as start time, weather conditions, and wear.

Everyone has the opportunity to use the pits if they want, just be cautious if you're the unlucky recipient of box number one.

After the first race is over which is the scheduled 1400 race. We'll take a short break before the second race which will start roughly around 10:30 PM EST. That race will run during the evening hours/night. Everything will be same as the first race.

Starting with next week's race at Brno, we'll run the GT3 series as scheduled using the same settings as the Nurburgring race. We will run those races once. After the GT3 race is over we'll switch gears and run a different car at another circuit. Maybe the Ricky Bobby 400 or one of the recent DLC cars we have.

So just show up Friday night as planned and let's go racing at the Nurburgring Grand Prix circuit.

Ok one last question, can we have the 3 times for the races? Thanks tjger!

Is there anyone that doesn't really want to race? We could get them to sit in pit box 1, and then do 1 full length race with real tire wear since we have to stay on softs.

I was debating about adding an AI.
Sometimes during last night's test sessions. An AI would take that spot.

Usually I get that spot as the host.

Tomorrow night I may have to try it. Last night one guy got stuck with that same spot three times.
He would exit, reenter the lobby and get stuck with that spot again.

Pushing back the series start again is also being discussed.

You could also just run races that are roughly 1 hour long with real tire wear. GT3 cars will last that long on fuel and tire wear shouldn't be a problem. If wear is a problem you could try the AI in pit box one or shorten the races. Personally I'm not a big fan of 15 lap races but if that is what everyone likes I'll still race.

I played around with various players settings and could almost predict the garage order.
Right now its still in debate including delaying it and filling the night with various short race/tracks with different cars.
