This event runs at the time slots of xx:00, xx:20, xx:40.
Run at HSR 650 PP on S3 tyres.

Note, we're not starting officially today yet. (31/3/09).


Welcome to The Lion's Den's Corvette challenge. I love the Corvette, I'm very passionate about using it in this game, and I hope you'll join me for some racing, V8 style.:dopey: In this event roster it will be run at HSR 650 PP on S3 tyres.:)

Nah, just kidding, 650PP/S3 with a Vette sounds like a deaththrap, so that makes it cool. :lol: I would definitely give it a try. :)

It's only a deathtrap because PD didn't model the Corvette right, or modelled everything else non-American better.:odd: You actually downgrade the power if you go for min. weight, the car is easy to drive really.
 
I've been trying to get some races in tonight with the Corvette, but have had no luck so far.
 
We'll start this Saturday eh?:) Of course, feel free to get on, but I haven't even figured out time slots yet.:dunce: I'll probably race the Corvette myself tonight as well anyway.👍

I've seen that Animera has the time slots xx:00/20/40 on his PSN account for this event, is that right? Cool, we'll start on Saturday then, hope to see some Corvettes out there!:D

is it socially acceptable to hang the tail out on every corner? or will I be the only one doing that?:dunce:

Well this is something I've been wondering about. The ZR1 has loads of grip, but with so much extra power if they make it more taily than the Z06 is in GT5:P it will be slower which is of course BS. I guess what I'm getting at is that the Z06 shouldn't be so taily and therefore it's socially unacceptable to hang the tail out at every corner on purpose.:sly: Of course you'll lose if you do, so it's up to you anyway.:D
 
hmm it's a toss up. Lose and have super fun happy slidey time, or maybe win and be restrained

I think I'll go for half and half and belt it round the corners instead of drift it.

I've decided to let in the Art Morrison Corvette too, it's only 1sec slower/lap than the Z06, I figure that maybe not everyone will use it, but some Div.1 drivers might enjoy it quite a bit.:)
 
ah HA...some bonding time (if I have any - yr 12 is UBER stressful). I tried, seriously I tried, but stock, there was something chronically wrong with the handling of that car (well, to me anyway).

Hope to have a few rounds....am in a sort of Z06y mood (much like paulie's Mosler mood)
 
I'm in it for tonight, will be out tomorrow.

EDIT - Sorry Paulie, had a few races but I just can't do 10 laps at HSR without nodding off at the wheel. I love the Vette, but this is probably the worst track in the game (besides the full oval).

Yeah, sorry Paulie. I wasn't really concentrating and decided to try some drifting.:lol: I'm not a big fan of HSR for online racing. I think it's too difficult to drive clean and pass.

You're tune is excellent though, I was able to hold drifts off the exits of corners quite easily. Maybe i'll try this event again and pay more attention and concentrate harder.

The track is as wide as a house! Passing couldn't be any easier, unless you're racing an idiotic punter.:lol:

Edit: After you guys left I had some great races with some fellas from a team called TMguardian, they were kind enough to get in Corvettes and race me that way.:) Although I did have to slow down for them fairly often, and they continuously slow down for each other.:sly: Good team of clean gentelmen racers though.👍 They wait when there's contact too.
 
Ok. Even though the track is wide, it's difficult to pass on banked corners. The car wants to slide up the bank constantly.

I've raced those guys before. They are very clean.
